What is going on here?…read more I ordered the First Avenue sandwich -- a cheesesteak with bacon and sautéed onions -- and it was an absolute salt bomb. Not "well-seasoned." Not "bold." Just aggressively, overwhelmingly salty. Every bite felt like a dare. Between the bacon and the cheesesteak, it was sodium stacked on sodium with zero balance. I genuinely couldn't finish it after two bites. At that point, it felt like I had just thrown money straight into the trash. The sausage stuffed peppers were decent...thankfully. Not mind-blowing, but at least edible and competently made, which is more than I can say for the sandwich. They saved me from a starving morning. Extremely disappointed. I'm all for flavor, but when the dominant note is "are they trying to preserve this for winter?" something has gone very wrong in the kitchen.
