My first impression of the green font on the sign was strange but I decided to give it a try for lunch.I can't believe this restaurant opened during covid, they are doing a great job with it though. Their tables are properly distant and it feels safe. Well, that's not what we read reviews for so let's get into the "meat" of the review. I got the vegan tofu banh mi and the freshness of the pickled vegetables is incredible. There is a nice tangy sweetness to the radish, carrot and cucumber mix and the warm tofu adds a great texture and body to the sandwich. Their bagette is bulkier than most but not lacking in the crispy outside and soft fluffy inside. It's a pretty great sandwich and I would highly recommend it. I hear other options are pretty delicious too, but I am pescetarian. I hope they come up with a lemongrass shrimp sandwich on their menu which I would love to try, just because they make their veggies so well. I also got a dragon colada smoothie and it was decent. Found this place on yelp yesterday. It was super delicious and the staff was very friendly. I threw our new puppy in the SUV and drove over based on yelp reviews. I went in and quickly paid for the food and they brought it out to me so I could wait with my dog. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. Perfectly spiced and the bread was soft and fresh. I thought the sandwich was a great deal for 5.95 for lemon grass beef. What was really cool was I could eat it with one hand while I kept the on the dog. And it wasn't even that messy. I was debating between getting the lemongrass beef and the bbq pork. I decided on the BBQ pork and it was the best decision I made that day. It was so tasty. I am actually craving it now. I've been in before but the service was not very nice so I didn't get anything that day, so I went in thinking it would be that way again, but the service was 100% better. There were only two employees there this time and both of them were very professional, welcoming and friendly. With a name like Banhdicted, you'd almost expect a little more variety but I have high hopes for them adding more sandwiches given time. We got thai tea boba that was very tasty and came in a very cute round bottom cups. Unfortunately, though the boba was a little hard and not properly cooked through. The Banh Mi though carries this place to a four-star. The AZ special is a tad light on the meat to bun ratio but has fantastic flavor. Not recommended skipping any of the ingredients. A good amount of spice, the pork belly fattiness nicely compliments. Also tried the bbq pork which had more meat and was less spicy. People might be worried or nervous about the liver pate spread, but it doesn't taste strong or funky and just adds a wonderful umami flavor. Without knowing it was the liver, it would go undetected. Lastly, the location is super clean with modern decor. The staff was super nice and very helpful and I was pleased to see that they had good business coming in at 3pm on a Saturday. I had two Banh Mi sandwiches: lemongrass beef and BBQ pork. The lemongrass beef was OK although the meat was a little bit cold. The BBQ pork is different from the typical ones that you would find at other restaurants or in Vietnam. Their choice of meat doesn't fit and their seasoning do not bring out like char-siu flavor; it was only plain sweet. Both the BBQ and lemongrass taste similar and I could not differentiate pork vs. beef. I was told their most popular Banh Mi is the AZ Special, which I will give a try next time. We ordered the Az and the grilled chicken Bahn Mi's which were absolutely great, and I would definitely recommend one of these if you are looking for something new to try. This Vietnamese and French Fusion was something out of my radar before but after trying I am definitely coming back for more! We just moved to Tucson recently and wanted to try a local place and I am really glad this was one of our first stops. Full disclosure: we did order from here for delivery so I've never stepped foot in the restaurant itself. My wife and I were excited to find that a new bahn mi place had opened up closer to our house. We were introduced to them years ago and they became one of the staple lunches we would try to get (not always so successful down here in Tucson). We both ordered the lemongrass beef bahn mi (mine was normal but my wife had no jalapenos and mayo) as well as a hazelnut milk tea and a Vietnamese coffee. I was worried the 10-15 minute drive would not do the sandwiches any favors but when they arrived they had held up well. We both agreed the food was delicious (as were the drinks).
