A couple even came by to look at the job site and make recommendations about the type of installation they thought I needed. After talking to four or five firms, Milton from Izzy's insulation reached out to me and made the most practical recommendation based on my unique situation. We ended up going with a blown in fiberglass insulation of R 38 and 13 inches. His price was the best by a few bucks, but I particularly liked his practical recommendations, and so ended up using him. He booked me out a week later and showed up exactly on time and had the job done in just a couple hours. He even provided me with before and after pictures that I can use when I submit my taxes for an energy tax credit. Very straightforward and honest service I recommend if you're looking for installation to talk to him at least. As it ended up the insulation did basically nothing to help with the temperature in my garage. If others are looking to do the same thing, I tell you to look at a combination of insulation for your ceiling, walls if needed, and the inside of your garage door these metal garage doors really radiate a lot of heat into the garage.

After a bit of investigation it turned out the insulation blower was at fault - a dent in the side was preventing appropriate air flow into the wall cavity. So yes, this have been an inconvenience, and ultimately more holes had to be drilled, so there's more patching to do. Mistakes can and do happen, but Jason and team went the extra mile to ensure the walls are fully insulated, and that's a quality that deserves 5 stars.

Alex (owner) was incredible to work with. He came out to our property and did a full evaluation. He caught things that no one else did. One thing that stood out to me was his transparency and honesty around the setup of our systems. We have old suction lines and liquid lines that are not compatible with the new Trane units. He has a solution for that but he was the only one that mentioned this. Some of the other installers that I inquired from also quoted us on the exact same Trane unit and failed to bring this up. In fact, the other companies were going to install a Trane unit on old lines, which would cause early compressor failure and voided the warranty through Trane due to the units being installed on the wrong sized lines in the first place (verified this with Trane). Alex was patient with me through all of my questions, provided examples of what it would look like to replace the lines, and was amazing to work with. Even though we ended up going with a company that made units compatible with our old lines, I am forever grateful to Alex and Ideal Air Conditioning for saving us from dumping a bunch of money to potentially have a premature failure down the road. If replacing the lines was not mandatory, we would have chosen Ideal Air Conditioning in a heartbeat. We plan to use them in the future for all of our HVAC maintenance!

First, he listened to our particular concerns about our home and then did a complete inspection of our attic - including a bunch of pictures (because when was the last time you were in your attic?) Our home is 33 years old and totally under-insulated. Our biggest complaint was the "hot in the summer, cold in the winter" temperature of our master bedroom. He showed us the existing 2" of original blown-in insulation that remained currently in our attic and explained how upping the amount to "code" would make a huge difference. We opted for a total removal of the old insulation so that they could fill all the cracks and openings where air escapes. We also had them install a radiant barrier on the undersides of our roof rafters which will reflect additional heat from the attic area. The whole job took two days. On day one, they vacuumed out all the old insulation which they collected in a bladder-filled dumpster which had been delivered. Then they filled all the cracks and applied the radiant barrier. There was a big crew of guys here and they kept the mess to a minimum by draping plastic from the attic opening in my hall and completely covered my floors where they were walking and the wall corners where their hoses might rub. I really appreciated that because once they left I didn't have a big mess to clean up! On the second day, they blew in 40 bags of new insulation. I waited a month since the install to write a review because I wanted to live in my newly insulated home for a while before I weighed in. First thing we noticed was the sound - it's actually quieter in our house! The last few days it's been windy, rainy and gross outside - we haven't felt the need to "take the chill off the house" by turning the heat on for a little bit. We're so comfortable now. We had a lot of work done by the Commandos and felt the price was super competitive! I would highly recommend this company.

Thermo S and another company's estimates came back close but with very different approaches to cooling down a bedroom that was always hot. In the end, we decided Thermo's solution sounded more logical. In the end we went with Thermo S because of Caden's expertise with duct work. He recommended duct sealing and adding an extra vent in addition to insulation. Day of, the team showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up their mess. The difference was instant. The air felt cooler coming out of the ducts, the A/C comes on less, the hot bedroom is cooler, and the house is quieter. I do have bad allergies/chemical sensitivities and the duct sealing was rough but after 3-4 days the smell faded and it's been fine. I would say communication with the office could have been better but they always returned calls the same day. All and all a very positive experience--I would highly recommend Thermo-S.

After reading online reviews we selected four highly rated companies here in the East Valley and received bids from each one for the desired work we wanted done. After inspecting our attic, he presented us with digital photos of the current insulation as well as one showing the temperature reading of 150F! Jim explained what his company could achieve for us with their work which would also include the installation of solar powered attic fan with additional ventilation of three O'Higgins roof vents as well as the filling in all the nooks and crannies that were totally bare, no insulation at all. This was important to us as we didn't realize there were sections that lacked insulation, thus leading to higher utilities bills and made our AC unit work harder than it needed to. This critical fact wasn't pointed out by the other 3 competing vendors. We made the decision to go with Koala Insulation based on the very detailed information Jim had provided us. Kevin, a tech from Koala Insulation arrived to work on the first part of the job of installing the solar attic fan and O'Higgins vents. He was very pleasant to talk to and worked tirelessly installing the four parts of the system on our roof. Upon finishing the components, Kevin discussed what he had done and that everything was ready for the second part of the process (previously scheduled for the following week) the addition of the insulation up to the R38 level. Their conversation piqued my curiosity for I have been adding improvements to my older house and instead of spending 10-20K on new windows for a small fraction of that cost. So insulating my attic, adding in some attic fans etc could?? make a difference in my R Value and my bill with Salt River Project. They came out and gave me a quote and like most home projects I parked it on the side until I could swing it financially. With the Tax season upon us and the advent of the BBB and some changes I made on my withholding I would be getting money back this year and that became my next egg to move forward on the project so I reached out to Koala and the owner and team came out to re-quote the project.
