I was in the area...getting my hair cut. We asked the stylist if there was a place that we could go and get something nearby and she recommended this place. She specifically said that the tacos were good and she suggested that we try them. I never would have pegged that this would be the place to get something to eat. Plenty of parking, we came here on a Saturday late afternoon, but cant imagine that would be the case later on at night. It was starting to get busy by the time we left. I got the shrimp taco and a side of fries. My friend got the fish and shrimp tacos. I was surprised and the tacos were good, the size of the shrimp were big. Most places skimp out and always give you smaller shrimp, but that was not the case here. The shrimp was fresh. Our server was great, she was so friendly and service was quick. We got a milkshake to go....big portion but the flavor in the strawberry flavored one was lacking. It wasn't as sweet, but it was definitely thick. I don't normally write reviews but I was at Bankers last night and the websites claim to "Monterey Bay's Premiere Place to Play" fell short. This place feels less like a casino and more like a home game in someone's garage--except the garage might have better chairs. The decor looks like it's been stuck in the '80s, and the atmosphere is just as outdated. Half the staff either doesn't care or has no clue what they're doing, which makes for an incredibly unprofessional experience. I've never seen a room run this poorly, and honestly, I'd be embarrassed to be associated with it. Seems like ownership takes all the money from it leaving it a low budget establishment leaving nothing for the hard working folks who visit it. How do you schedule a poker tournament and not have sugar free Red Bull? To make it worse, nobody fixes an easily solved problem by sending an employee to the store to grab a couple cases. Had some business in Salinas and was recommended this place. Yelp doesn't really differentiate the restaurant separately, but there are several reviewers who rave about the shrimp tacos. I looked up the restaurant online and reviewed the menu. I called a couple times waiting to get through to the restaurant. It's a small place and they told me about 30 mins to prepare my order. I ordered a mess of tacos and some jalapeño poppers. I get to the casino about 25 mins later and my order isn't quite ready. However, the one waitress manning the place was pleasant and skilled at multitasking. 10 mins later my order was packed up and I was on my way. Side note: they gave a generous amount of condiments (ranch, the house taco sauce) as well as utensils, and didn't forget anything! On to the tacos. I did order some pastor tacos as well as the shrimp tacos. The tortillas "dorado" style were sublime in texture. The perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and the cheese was melted to a gorgeous golden, crispy brown that added to the overall flavor. The pastor was tender, complex and when juxtaposed against the chewy, crispy tortilla...it was a delectable flavor combination. The shrimp tacos were similar in pleasing mouth feel. You had that crispy, chewy tortilla, and these succulent, juicy shrimp, cheese, avocado, onions and cilantro. In short, them tacos was bomb! Enjoy coming here for their awesome Shrimp tacos and specialty cocktail "vamos al la cama". Drink is dangerous and a pretty penny. Bartenders are great! Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through. Have turned on a few other people to this place whom had no idea of the in-house restaurant. Business recently remodeled a section of their building. Super nice and available for private parties. They also offer in-house catering. New wing has the potential for an increase in business. Would like to see maybe a weekly band or piano bar added. One other thing menu should coincide with both sides of the business with regards to pricing on food and drinks. I went here with a friend for lunch. We didn't gamble so can't comment on the tables. The lunch was really good. My friend had bacon wrapped shrimp with rice and beans. The bacon wrapped shrimp had a creamy cheese inside it the bacon was cooked crispy. It was really good. I had the shrimp taco. It was a really big taco and very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable. We will definitely be going back soon. I was surprised at the cleanliness of the establishment and the quality of the food. They focus more on the gaming floor than the restaurant. 2 girls on the floor and 1 for the restaurant. Only 4 people here for happy hour in the restaurant. Took a half hour til we got our food. But it was all hot and fresh. I really wish they would offer some happy hour cocktails but they don't, Only beer and house wines. Happy hour is from 3-7pm everyday! Excellent French fries. I went to the Casino here to play in the Sunday Hold 'Em tourney and was greatly disspaointed. This is the kind of place you go where there are just a bunch of old grandparents with money throwing money into the pot and hoping to get lucky on the flop. Took the fun out of the whole tourney for me. There were some decent players however. The card room is quite small but it is very nice. I was told that there was a renovation recently can you tell. Beautiful TV's line the wall so you can watch all your sports. The restaurant and bar were very well priced however the asian chicken dish that I recieved, the chicken was very very dry. read more

BUT, currently the owners have brought in a what seems to be A SEASONED INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL! Amazing Shrimp Tacos! I had read all the other reviews about the shrimp tacos and thought there was no way they could be that amazing - but they are! We have been back multiple times, sometimes dining and sometimes taking out as I can't get enough of these tacos. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful with other menu suggestions.
