WOW! Having moved here from Seattle I expected only to find undrinkable Starbucks and planned to buy my own espresso machine to satisfy my latte addiction. I stumbled upon this place my first morning in the town and decided to give them a try. When I asked who roasted their beans the man behind the counter smirked and said he did. I figured he was kidding and I asked again....well that's when I got the tour, turns out he DOES ROAST HIS OWN BEANS! I cannot stress enough how great it is to find a roaster here who focuses on quality of the roast over just coating beans with a glaze. I have since been back 6 or 7 times but this is only due to the fact that they are not open nearly enough. I can say though I am still buying an espresso machine but all of my beans will be purchased from Bank House. Excellent excellent coffee!! read more

I'm currently in town for a few months for work and needed a go-to spot for coffee. I need look no further. It is tough trying to find a better quality of coffee anywhere. I first tried their frozen coffee with sugarless caramel flavoring, and it did not disappoint. They also have a variety of coffee beans you can take home. A supervisor of mine gave me a sample of his. The small cup contained a brew of half Folders original and half of Bank House's hazelnut, no creme and no sugar. It was flavorful and smooth, without the nasty bitter taste lesser coffees without additives contain. The only knock on this place is the atmosphere is rather run-of-the-mill. But from a pure coffee rating, this place is definitely 5 of 5. I'll be a regular here for the remainder of my stay. read more

The coffee here is so smooth with no bitterness whatsoever. I had mine iced with white chocolate sauce. My husband had a caramel latte. I even bought a bag of while bean coffee. Although a 16 oz Cappachino had four oz of foam, leaving you with 12 oz of tasty rich golden coffee. Heard they roast their coffee on premises. Nice touch. Different. While touring southwestern Mississippi for a couple of days, I received emailed attachments -- documents that required an immediate albeit lengthy review and edits. I searched Yelp for coffee shops that had WiFi available. Yelp returned a list with multiple possibilities. (Thanks Yelp!) Bankhouse Coffee was a block away, so it got the visit. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Bankhouse is an invitingly stylish, converted bank, whose proprietors roast their coffee, serve it steaming in real cups, with tasty pastries, if one so desires, and welcomes a stranger to connect and stay awhile. Bankhouse Coffee is located in the town of Long Beach, Mississippi -- the area that took the full force of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Bankhouse Coffee has been open for 15 years. Let's hope it is successful for another 15, providing great coffee and Long Beach hospitality. read more

I've now been here a few times when visiting home. First off, the name is Bankhouse because the building used to be a bank. It's a very old building on the main street of Long Beach. It's very cute and the interior is wood and exposed brick. The main room is very comfy. This isn't just a coffee SHOP but they roast their own coffee as well. There's even a bakery in the back room that I've yet to try but will eventually. I want to say the first time I came here I had a coffee and the last time I had a cortado. I will say this, that Cortado had me WIRED. Good god. The people here are very warm and friendly and willing to make whatever you want (within reason). My husband and I discovered this hidden gem about a month ago. We go at least once weekly. What I love most about this place is the historic building that it's in. Secondly, I love that they are very accommodating with my dietary restrictions. I'm a very picky person, however when I order a drink at Bank House I don't have to "fix it up". We were here on vacation from Denver and desperately needed good coffee. I had an iced mocha which was excellent once I added a little more cream. My wife had a hot coffee which was a good roast.
