The food wasn't ready until 10 minutes after my pickup time which was frustrating since I had limited time and there was no one else inside. However... the flavor and quality of the food made up for it 10 fold. The curry I got was incredible and the mini egg rolls were delicious. Food is very tasty and the dinner menu is pretty elaborate with many options. Everyone we encountered was friendly, and we felt very well attended to. This restaurant is very accommodating for customers sensitive to spicy foods, as they made my compadre's food tame at his request and made mine nice and spicy. The building for this restaurant appears to have previously been a house. The ambiance inside feels very endearing, like you are eating in a friend's dining room. I randomly found this place for lunch while in the area for work. Don't let the outside deceive you, I'm glad I didn't just drive on past it (other reviews led me here and they were spot on, this was worth stopping for); the atmosphere inside is amazing, as is the food. This is some of the best Thai I've had in Ohio and far exceeds some Thai I've eaten in far fancier and well-to-do areas locally. First of all, the restaurant is extremely clean and well-kept. The staff was nothing but kind, helpful and fast. The first question I asked when I sat down was, "Are there any food allergies?" And after telling them MSG is an issue for me they assured me that they'd take care of me (and they did!) My lunch was the Thai Basil Chicken and it was delicious. The starter salad and rangoons were also delicious. My food was hot and appropriately spicy for the number I picked (I'd pick higher next time, but I always start out conservative.) I will be back and will likely drive 30+ minutes for it, happily. The food and experience both get an A and are worthy of your stopping in. read more

This is the BEST Thai food between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. And that includes Pitt and Cleve! It is 14 miles from Lake Milton. When I move back to Pittsburgh, I am going to make an excuse to visit Salem Ohio, or Canton, and Bann Thai will be where I stop in for lunch and/or dinner. During this life in the age of Covid, there is butcher paper on the tables, replaced after every diner. A dispenser of hand sanitizer also. Now that I've said THAT... The food, the tastes, the smells sights and sounds. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! They do well enough with carry out business, but that would be missing out on the excellent service. The wait staff is impeccably attentive. They will suggest items if you are having a difficult time determining what entree to get. Or what appetizer is best for you. I cannot recommend this Thai restaurant any more than I have, because I have already given this place the HIGHEST recommendation that it is possible to give! The lunch special portions are very large. They come with chicken and rice soup or a salad and two crab rangoon. Spoiler alert. There isn't any crab in the Rangoon. I had the crazy noodles with pork. I would liken this to drunken noodles. It has the big fat sheet rice and tapioca noodles with onion, tomato, baby corn and chili. The heat scale is from 1-10. I chose 8. It was a nice heat. I'll probably try 10 next time to see where the ceiling is. The wife had the pad Thai vegetable. She did not care for it. I tried it and I liked it but I can see what her problems were with it. They use glass noodles which she didn't like. Also the sauce had a very forward peanut butter coconut flavor. It was very perfumey. She likes pad thai the way she's used to. Lots of leftovers for days. I get all the pad thai. I see a fried egg on top of it for breakfast in my future. I sure hope she can find something on their menu she will like. We have been dining at Bann Thai since they opened, & we have never had a bad experience!! Bann Thai is the very definition of a local mom n' pop, moreover, I'm pretty sure they live up above the restaurant. Bann Thai is a very welcome bit of cultural flavor in the Alliance/Salem area. The fact they have flourished during COVID should tell you something. They literally opened their doors in spring 2020. The thing I'm most excited about is that they still haven't implemented the full menu they had planned prior to their opening, the best is yet to come.... Everything is lovingly made from scratch by the family that owns this joint. Nothing I've eaten at Bann Thai feels "heavy" either, it's hard to explain. I don't want to say everything is healthy per-say, but I'm pretty sure it's all natural & fresh. So, you might ask, Daniel how do you know all this! Well, the owners & staff told me as much! One of the things I enjoy most about this joint is that the staff REMEMBER you when you come in. They are super friendly & genuinely care about your experience. The family will literally stop by your table to have a conversation with you - it's cool. As for COVID, they have sanitizer bottles out on the tables & staff wear masks. Some of them even wear gloves. I hope they retain their COVID precautions until the pandemic passes, moreover, businesses are free to make that choice on 6/1 here in Ohio. Went to the east side of Alliance today and ate at Bann Thai restaurant. It's straight out Rt 62. Best food ever! Locally owned by a family who moved here from Thailand 6 years ago. This restaurant and its restrooms is the cleanest place I have EVER been in!!! The food was amazing and huge portions. They have a full menu of all the favorites. They just reopened for dine in. I drove past this restaurant a few weeks ago and caught a glimpse of the sign. We love Thai food and there aren't any authentic Thai restaurants between Cleveland and Pittsburgh so we thought we would give it a try. I checked the reviews online and was surprised they were rated so highly. I questioned whether the rating were from friends and family because who expects great Thai food between Sebring and Alliance. We made our first visit last week. The food was off the wall good. We got crab rangoon, shrimp cigars and baby egg roll for appetizers. All were very good. For dinners, we had red chicken curry, a noodles dish and volcano rice. The volcano rice was so good we ordered an extra order to take home. The curry and noodles were delicious. The food was so good we returned 3 days later to order takeout. Their prices are very reasonable. Our server was fantastic. He was the the only server and besides waiting on the tables, he sat guests and handled the takeout yet we never waited for anything. The restaurant is a little small and the acoustics aren't the best so I don't know if I would choose it if I were looking for a romantic and quiet date night. Love this place! The yellow curry is always delicious. Recently tried the Panang Curry and I think it might be my new go-to. It's super creamy and not too peanut buttery. I usually opt for a spice level 3 and it's perfect. (I've tried a 5 before and my mouth was on fire!) My boyfriend got the Thai Basil Deluxe and we loved it! It has so much flavor. If you like REAL Thai food, this is the place to go. We ordered three appetizers and agreed that if the rest of the dining experience was half as good as the appetizer, we would be eating good! The three appetizers were shrimp dumplings, money bags, and moo ping (recommended by our waiter). All three were delicious. Now, take their heat scale SERIOUSLY!! The Crazy Noodles START at a 3. They were phenomenal but left my hubby's lips tingling. Pad See Ew at a 1 had a delicious kick with a great peanut flavor.
