My son got a skin infection a couple of months ago. We caught it on a weekend so we couldn't schedule an appointment with our primary doctor until the following Monday, so I brought him to this Banner Urgent Care. The waiting room was empty when we arrived. The staff greeted us and handed over the paperwork to fill out. In about 10 to 15 minutes, we were called in. The doctor was pleasant, diagnosed the infection, and prescribed medication, which we asked to be sent to the CVS next door. I really appreciated how professional and efficient everyone was. We paid the standard fee of $150 and were told there wouldn't be any extra charges. So far, no surprise bills have shown up! read more

This is by far the best Urgent Care facility I have used. I would not hesitate to send my friends or family to this facility. The option to set up an appointment online makes the whole process so much easier. From the minute you walk in the door you feel cared for. The entire staff is friendly, caring and professional and the clinic is very clean. Debra the nurse practitioner was excellent. She diagnosed my problem and prescribed the appropriate treatment. I don't usually write reviews however this interaction sucked so much I have to. Long story short wife got sick needed a breathing treatment, meds the whole deal. I start getting sick at the same time and thought well maybe I should go get checked out. At least have someone listen to my lungs and whatever. Make an online appointment for 5:30 it ask you to show up 10 minutes early which I did. appointments are basically treated as walk in and don't get taken back to a room until about 6:10. Get taken back lady takes my temp, weight usual stuff and says someone will be in to see you. About 10-15 min later she comes in rolling a cart with an iPad on it and says they will see you soon! I went to urgent care for a effing telemed appointment! What a joke. No one listen to chest or hear nada. Also in the room next door is a guy who walked in while I was 15 minutes into waiting for my appointment and I can hear him being helped by the provider. He was also there for a cough. I really hope they only charge my insurance for telemed appointment so they don't commit insurance fraud. Also if my lungs have issues it will be a nice little malpractice lawsuit. The most horrible experience I have ever had at a Banner Urgent Care. I went the first morning of flu like systems. I had to stand at the front desk for 15 minuets because nobody was there, I finally called this Phylicity I was currently standing there and someone picked up the phone from the back. When I told him I had been standing at the desk for 15 minutes he said she's on her way up. I was greeted but a young woman with a less than kind look on her face like it was even an imposition that I was there, when I tried to lighten the mood (just reminding I was the one who was sick) I asked her how her day was and she flatly replied oh it's been a day alright. Then I was called back to the room where the person who I think he said he was a paramedic and took my vitals, placed in another room when the NP Melissa Monson asked a few questions took a swab for the flu came back 5 minutes later and told me that she saw a faint tiny twinge of a pink like for the flu test she took and said that it may be so faint because I came in the same day I started showing symptoms. I asked that they send my prescriptions next door to CVS as I didn't want to drive all the way across town to get them. They sent them to my normal pharmacy anyway. 10 days later I was not feeling as well as I expected to with the 5 prescriptions they put me on I finally got in to see my doctor. He pulled the paperwork from Banner and said it was no wonder I was not feeling better... The paperwork from Banner stated that I tested NEGITIVE for both type A & B flu... My doctor was not shocked to say the least. I have an upper raspatory infection and prescribed me some antibiotics and 3 days later I'm finally getting some relief. I was misdiagnosed, given the wrong medication and I had to pay 75.00 for that. I want my money back I'll eat the meds I had to pay for and I want an apology for nobody calling me to tell me that my flu tests were negative that I should go to my regular Dr. because there is something else going on with me to stop taking the medications they had given due to being mis diagnosed. read more

Dr gave wrong prescription for my 16 yo to pharmacy. They corrected it AFTER pharmacy distributed it to me and now I have to pay almost 150 for their mistake. Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. I brought my daughter here after calling around for 30 minutes looking for an x-ray tech. I was told they stop taking patients "sometime between 7pm and 7:30pm" but I said it likely would be fine since I was right down the road and was encouraged to stop in. I got there at 7:02pm and was turned away. My daughter had a broken toe and I had to drive 40 minutes to get an x-ray. There was zero sympathy and no attempt to try and find another location. read more

Went in for eye discomfort and redness, nurse or doctor did one test with a light stating my pupils didn't contact and said I needed to go to the ER. I asked if it could be caused by some type of bacteria or virus and she said well it could but did no other test and said I just need to go to the ER. I spent 50 dollars there and another 350 at the ER and it ends up being a virus. The doctor at urgent care could have checked my eye with dye to see if anything was wrong with my eye cause I heard her talking about it but said she wasn't going to cause my eyes we're not contracting. The doctor here said right away my pupils are fine. So both places have doctors and both have the dye checking to see if foreign objects or your eye is scratched. But Urgent Care URGENTLY pushed me away cause either they are lazy or don't know what they are doing or both. I would say both. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY read more

I called ahead when this urgent care opened and the receptionist directed me to the website to make an appointment (along with several rapid-fire directions). When I asked her to slow down, she said to just come in now because there was no wait. When I got there approximately 10 minutes later, the receptionist said it would be a 45 minute wait. After 1.5 hours, I went back to the receptionist to ask how much longer and she said another 30 minutes. The receptionist was curt each time I interacted with her. Banner didn't want to bill the Veterans Administration so they try to bill my Insurance, they said no, then tried to bill me, I said no go bill the VA like you are supposed to, they finally pulled their head out and did it, and OMG, they got paid...... Now the exact same stupidity is processing with the Dr Invoice. They also tried to bill my insurance, no, then tried to bill me, I said no, go bill the VA. They did but are too lazy to bill the correct coding so they'll NEVER get paid by the VA. Now because they are idiots and refuse to do their job properly and code the visit accordingly, they're attempting to bill me. I WILL NEVER PAY THIS BILL, DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY AND BILL THE VA WITH THE RIGHT CODE. I'll never return and you shouldn't either. read more

ABSOLUTELY Horrible. Hey banner, If you don't honor "appointment times" then don't offer them. Just simply allow walk-in only. My sick daughter was asleep in the car with her dad and I went in and checked in for our 10:30 appointment and she said we were the next pediatric patient to be seen. I asked if I should wake up my child like would it be soon? And she said I can't say how long but I can say you're next but if we call her and she's not in here, your place will be taken by someone else. So we wake up my daughter. ONE HOUR LATER they still have not taken us back. We were the next patient?!? What?? It was absolutely horrible. I got my copay back and we got the hell out of there. Never again. Because I was not feeling well, I went in to see a doctor. After the nurse monitored my vitals, she told me that a doctor would come in. After the doctor came in, he asked me why I came in, and then listened to my oral account. There was no instrument used during the process. After the examination, he told me the cause of the illness, and then told me that he was going out to get me the discharge records. So when he went out and just closed the door, I heard him whispering to his nurse (I am not good at English). Then the nurses and doctors laughed unscrupulously. I felt discriminated against because I needed a translator to see the doctor, and he knew I couldn't understand. But the moment they closed the door, they finished laughing and I felt an unprecedented feeling. I was bullied, discriminated against, and laughed. Then he gave me the discharge form and the form for picking up the medicine. Before he went out to get the form, I told him if he could send the medicine directly to the pharmacy so that I could go home and wait for them to notify me to pick up the medicine without having to drive over. However, the doctor just handed me the form and said that I could go and pick up the medicine. So I asked him if he could send it directly to the pharmacy and I would just go and pick it up because I was feeling very uncomfortable. He refused me. Is it true that anyone who doesn't speak English well and comes to see a doctor because he feels uncomfortable will be discriminated against by you? Hahaha, you can refuse the request to send the medicine to the pharmacy. As a doctor, you judge people by their colors~~ It's so hateful read more

Dr. Monica was very caring and made my daughter comfortable during g the visit and Scott the Radiologist did comfort us as he performed the X-rays. Top quality care seems to be a trend with the Banner Urgent Care locations. Proud to have them in our neighborhood and appreciate the way the team members treat their patients. I wish I could give this a 0 star. I visited this location after an 8 hour shift at work and a week at the hospital. I saw An N.P. By the name of Jonathan Alvaro. After 5 minutes of him talking I could tell he was not a very caring or helpful doctor. He was not a people person and had no bed side manners. This guy should find a new career. Maybe selling cars or something. He started asking me some really personal questions that I feel offended about that had nothing to do with my health and more about my personal life it felt like harassment. I'm so agitated with everything going on and he didn't make me feel better. I quickly confronted how unprofessional and rude he was and left the urgent care with a Panic attack. Online says they're open until 9pm. I walked up with my sick child about 7:55pm and the lights were off. Went to the door to pull on it and it was locked. There was a woman behind the counter that completely ignored me. Big decals on the window showed 9pm closing but a small print out on the door said temporarily closing at 8pm. Either way, they still closed early. Walked to the car, opened my phone to check for another urgent care near by. Three of them walked out right at 8pm to go home... I should have taken a pic with a time stamp. They should be embarrassed. I can't believe how much time I wasted trying to go to this place. read more

This urgent care is fast, helpful, and I give them a 5-star for convenience. Pros: 1. They answered the phone live, no waiting for an automated voicemail. 2. They gave a quote on the wait time and beat the estimate. 3. I was able to get my prescriptions filled there. 4. Dr. Randall, a DO, was able to not only treat me for my issue (neck pain) he was able to do a treatment similar to a chiropractic adjustment, and that was awesome! He's helpful, listens, is gentle and patient! Great doctor!!! Cons: - I had to fill out the same paperwork even though I've been seen here before. My second visit was better than expected. My last review of the second visit was partially incorrect. It turned out that my Dermatologist was gave me the wrong antibiotic prescription. For foot infection the best antibiotics turned out to be Kelfex prescribed by Banner and not sulfa. Thank you Banner. read more

Walked in today to get a sports physical done. When I walked in, nobody was in the lobby. After I finished paperwork and sat down for about 30 minutes still the only one in the lobby. As people start to trickle in, I recognize they have appointments. However, as patients start to walk in, within an hour and a half I saw one person walk out of the back from being evaluated. Now it's been an hour and 45 minutes that I've been waiting and the second person with an appointment is called back. I look back up at the waitlist board and my expected wait is now an additional 2.5 hrs! When I go and ask the front desk if the anticipated wait time was correct and she verified it, she also accompanied it with an explanation that the policy is to try to squeeze walk ins in the middle of appointments. My issue is if each person who walks in the office has to wait an hour and 45 minutes to be seen, even with appointments (seen from my experience watching people with appointments today and previous reviews), then how are walk ins accepted, not to mention being labeled "urgent" if nothing is taken care of in that manner. I understand emergencies occur and time is thrown off...but wow this doesn't seem to be rare at all at this location. Disappointing across the board. read more

Ridiculously long wait for a covid test. Not the actual test but after the test they make you sit in a room because it's a must to see the provider. We waited 50 minutes. Nobody else was in the clinic. We all know that's what someone who is feeling sick wants to do. Sit in a stuffy room for almost and hour. Apparently the Dr is the only one in the office and sees about 85 patients herself. Don't bother if you need a covid test go to Embry women's health. I went in with my 18 yo daughter to get her a physical to teach English in Costa Rica this fall. We waited 30 minutes to have the office manager tell us that I have to wait outside (Covid). Five minutes after that he tells my daughter that he can't do the physical exam because he doesn't know her previous medical history and won't sign the form stating that she was safe to work with kids. It should have been a basic physical exam to assess basic health. We ended up going to a different Urgent Care and getting her physical done. read more

Made an appointment. Arrived early as requested, walk in patients took priority even after my appointment time came and gone. Making an appointment seems irrelevant. Never reviewed son's x-rays with me. Just told us it was not broken and sent on my way. Even called me to confirm no break after radiologist reviewed films later in the day...days later my son still had pin point pain on this thumb. Went to an orthopedic, and confirmed it was broken off the same x-rays taken at the urgent care. Left my son with no treatment for 5 days. I will say the staff was nice. read more

I see this place doesn't have very great reviews with the median score being 2.5 out of 5 stars. I know every person's experience is different, but I will say I had a great experience here. Staff was friendly and efficient! I walked in at 8:30 and they close at 9:00 (I know, I hate being that person that shows up right before a place closes but it was kind of an urgent need I was visiting for). So they get me in, do a full x ray, and EKG, the x ray tech was professional and the PA on duty was concise and very attentive to my concerns. I will definitely be coming here again for any needs in the future and will be recommending this place to others. read more

My daughter was charged a $75.00 copay on 2 different visits. After Cigna processed both claims, she was only responsible for $27.60 on each visit. I had to fight with Banner and along with the help of some amazing Cigna reps, she was finally refunded for her first visit of 10-14-2017. That took almost 3 months to get that refund. I have been fighting the Banner for the last 9!! months trying to get her refund for the 2nd visit. I have been told that a refund of $51.26 was to be added back onto our credit card. THAT WAS A LIE!!!!!!!!! I spent over 30 minutes this morning on the phone with Banner, only to be told the refund was only $4.00. I will be filing a complaint with the Arizona Medical Board.
