I strongly recommend going early if you are a walk in like us. Otherwise I saw a long list of appts on the screen. I thought it was funny how the girl opened the door at 8 while we were standing there and then walked away. If it was me I would have opened the door and greeted whoever was standing there waiting. I even laughed when she walked away. I know it's not mandatory but it would have been a nice gesture. But mom didn't wait long after she checked in, maybe 10 min. My mom was visiting from Michigan and had been dealing with some sort of rash all over her body for the past 4 days and then her tongue swelled up. My dad is a retired physician, mom is a retired nurse and I was in the health field so we knew it was probably some sort of allergic reaction to whatever is floating around in Az. But need a Dr to prescribe her a steroid or something. The PA who saw my mom just looked at her arms, asked what happened and if she is on any medications. While she was nice, it was a quick appt. I feel like others would have felt jipped. Since we knew it was some sort of allergic reaction and needed the prescription, the appt did the job. We left and went to Walgreens to pick up her prescribed topical steroid and prednisone. Overall, no issues with the appt! read more

I go to this Banner Urgent care even though they are not near my house. I feel the staff is concerned about what is going on with you than just getting you in and out. I came here as my primary couldn't get me in. I started having a horrible cough and congestion and assumed it was bronchitis. No other symptoms. I can't remember but I believe the gentleman said he was a PA who came in after having my vitals done. (My heart rate was high). The PA didn't hear anything and said most likely an upper respiratory. He leaves and was getting ready to discharge me and saids he wanted to check me for something else as my heart rate was high and it wasn't sitting right with him. He checks me for the Flu and sure enough I had the flu. I'm so grateful he had that thought to check because I wouldn't have known and would have just went about my business and could have got others sick. Especially a lot of other kids my little one is around. Our flu symptoms were not what typically is shown for the flu so would have just thought it was an upper respiratory infection . We do get the flu vaccine so that could have played apart of it. We love the care this facility gives. We always send family here. read more

Awful. The front desk is incredibly rude, demanded triple our Urgent Care copay and refused to look up my benefits despite me telling her the cost. We paid triple because we needed care and to correct the issue and get money back into the tax sheltered account I've called two different phone numbers and been transferred four times. Each person I speak with seems to have a language barrier and have a hard time understanding simple things like amount paid vs copay amount, phonetic spelling of names, and asks me to repeat everything twice. Any Patient presenting with Chest Pain/Shortness of Breath immediately proceeds to the front of the line, as this is an immediate emergency! Maintance of a patent airway and administration of O2 are priorities. The MA's seem to think they are running the show and make the patients with Shortness of Breath wait to be seen for over an hour! Glad you are not working under your licensee, you would not have a job!!! First the MA tried telling us to come back the next day and tried to make us an appointment, although they were not closed. I wish her name tag were visible, I would put her name on this review for all to see. And then after over an hour wait, Jessica Apple MA, another one who thinks she is running the clinic, rudely insists on a weight and proceeds to say, " I am not signing my name to anything where there is not a weight," let me tell you, no one cares what you sign, MA, please get the Short of Breath patient to an MD/NP who can help, if weight based drugs are ordered we will deal with the weight issue accordingly. The physician whose license is on the line for these MAs should be made aware of there shortcomings, before it results in a loss of life, due to the MA's negligence and ego !!! I was a walk in on Monday. I had heard a pop in my shoulder and needed it be looked at. I was a walk in so I figured I'd wait. It took 30-40 minutes. Once in I completed the customary 15 more minutes before the doctor came in. She asked what I did so I told her. She ordered an X-ray. I completed that and waited for another 10-15 minutes. She came back in and said it wasn't broken or dislocated. (I figured). She proceeded to tell me that she would call me with the final results from radiology within "1-2 hours." That apparently concluded the visit. I walked through the office and wasn't provided a write up, or any documentation. I have a receipt for what I paid. It is Wednesday and I was never contacted, via phone or by email. I've never actually seen the X-ray. No one called, so I did today. I was forwarded to a nice young lady who looked up my case. Definitely not a doctor. She then tells me nothing, other than "yep its definitely not broken, and we're sorry for not calling you." I am no further figuring out what the problem is. No paperwork, no definitive answer or suggestions for pain or therapy. This was a complete waste of time. I do NOT recommend this place. I will never be back and I will recommend that same thing to everyone within Power Ranch. read more

I brought my husband here because he's having shortness of breath due to COVID-19 and SONYA the front desk lady is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNHELPFUL. My husband can barely speak so I'm getting her what she needs to check in my husband. She told me to leave because my husband is positive for COVID. I asked her where does it state that I need to leave because he's positive. She looked at me like I was stupid and said "that's just the policy". In addition, she's asking me for documentation proving that my husband is positive. We have visited the Banner on Higley & Pecos multiple times this week and they never asked for that. The three stars is solely for the experience I had with the PA. Greg is by far the best provider I have ever met in my life. So down to earth and gave the best care I have received. Working in health care, I was very happy to see this. The front desk staff however, was horrible. Very rude, snarky and unprofessional. An urgent care is where people go when they are in dire need of medical attention and are willing to wait the long times. The way some of the patients were treated by the front desk staff makes that long 3 hour wait a little less bearable. I would like to come back to this location if ever in the need, but I really hope the front desk can really change or find a new profession. The staff was friendly for the most part, and the PA who worked with us was fine, but the room we were in was super hot, to the point where we are sweating and asked multiple times for them to turn the AC on. They said they turned it on, but it came on for 3-5 mins and we were right back in the heat. (Note this is in Jan) and the outside temp is less than 70. This is after a 2 hour wait after checking in, and spending another 90 mins in the room. It's far too hot in the room, and they seem to not care. Usually I +DO NOT+ like going to these, "Doc-in-the-Box" clinics! I've had frustrating experiences before, especially with the, "FastMed Urgent Care" in Tempe circa 2013 AD. I challenged their billing and won, but it was a fight to be sure. The moral of that story was: save ALL of your paperwork until you are 100% well! Get names, don't be afraid to keep notes, document in letter form and challenge faulty providers! Keep them on their toes! Fight the Good Fight!!! Based on the more recent Yelp reviews of this location, I was leery. My visit earlier today was pleasant and took about 25 mins from the time I walked in until I left. This was the closest clinic to my home so I figured as long as I got names, details and kept good notes, I could ROCK & ROLL! (I found them via a Google search after I couldn't get into my primary care physician earlier this morning.) It almost looks like they had a management purge or got some swift kicks in the butt. I had a VERY different experience than the other Yelp reviewers had. Maybe this place has been fixed? This location is in the same plaza as the Lowe's home improvement store, and is literally next to the Verizon store. The receptionist, Kaitlyn, was friendly and efficient. Be advised that they charge $75.00 if you have a co-pay. The waiting area was clean. Nick took my vitals and medical history. I was diagnosed by a Physician Assistant, PA, named Boden E. Bradley. Per my symptoms, he ordered a test for Strep throat to help isolate the possible issue. Amanda, a medical technician I think, took the sample and ran the test which took about 5 minutes. The test came back negative for Strep throat, so PA Bradley thought it could be the early phase of Acute Bronchitis. PA Bradley gave me a script for an anti-inflammatory, something for the cough and a Z-Pack (Zithromax, azithromycin). My instructions are to see how symptoms persist in the next 5-7 days. If they persist or get worse, I can get the script for the Z-Pack filled, and then execute that regimen. According to PA Bradley, Bronchitis infects a person as a virus then converts to a bacterial infection within 5-10 days. The Z-Pack only works once it becomes a bacterial infection, that's why I have to wait. (A "Z-Pack" is an antibiotic regimen). They likewise gave me a three (3) page printout titled, "Patient Education Materials" which described the diagnosis, causes, treatment options and what they did during my visit. It was easy to read and understand. I requested a medical note for my employer, and they provided it no problem. Really, this visit couldn't have gone better! I'm going to give this location 5 stars because, during my visit, they served me very well. I dealt with four (4) different people and they were all first-rate. The waiting room/reception area and restroom were clean; the TV showing the appointments worked. Though, I don't remember any music - that would be a great touch though. Helps keep your mind off the pain/misery. Perhaps they could get some speakers and crank the iHeart Radio? Life is tough and finding people that want to serve others with patience, kindness, competence and compassion is harder to find nowadays. People in the medical field generally only see panicked, hurting, sick and unhappy people that need relief. (Imagine if you ONLY saw those kinds of people each day where you worked). On the other hand, we have to be our own, "Healthcare Advocates". Bring a family member, significant other or friend along to assist in serious issues. Ask them to help you get the best care possible; they can help ask questions and take notes. It's up to all of US to get the best healthcare possible; ask all pertinent questions and MAKE notes. (I use the "voice to text" function on my email app, via my smartphone, to take notes on-scene. I save them as "Drafts" and when the visit is complete - I send them to myself - then edit them at home). You'll find that in this life, keeping complete notes will help in EVERYTHING you do! Doctors, lawyers, politicians, researchers, counselors, religious leaders and mediators - all of them - recognize this! If someone sees you taking notes and asking for their name, they usually become more, "accountable". They typically will serve you better. If they become more stubborn or bitchy, take better notes and get ready to ROCK! If you made it to the end of this review - I salute you! Now, I'm off for a bowl of Campbell's Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup, soda crackers and to binge-watch Vikings, Knightfall or some 1980's sitcom. Happy New Year's Eve!!! P.S. Checked in for a 4pm appt 10 minutes early. My name has been first on the list since we arrived. It's now 5:40pm and no change. My husband checked to see how much longer at 5:15pm and they told him only 2 more people ahead of us. I just checked in to ask for an update and she said 6 more people. Then she said because we had an appt for an "adult" and not a kid we were somehow listed as a walk in. This place is terrible. Sick kids and no updates and no information. I had a good experience here. I came in on a Saturday morning for some antibiotics. A cat bit my hand at a place I was volunteering at, and I wanted to be on the safe side. Big, spacious waiting room. I filled out my paperwork. The man at the desk was friendly. He seemed genuinely concerned that I feel better when I left. Nice guy. I did not think I had that long of a wait. There were 3 people ahead of me. Maybe it was 20 minutes. I thought it was reasonable. The practitioner was nice. She prescribed my antibiotics. I had the option to have them filled there for $15 which I took advantage of because I did not feel like making another stop. I think I could have gotten them free with a Yelp check in coupon. Pretty disappointed! I had two great visits here but tonight will be our LAST! Our son fell and hurt his arm tonight so we called at 6:55pm to make sure they have an X-ray machine and the receptionist said they stop checking people in at 7 (when they close at 9) but said we could drive down now. My husband and son get there at 7:12pm and the guy comes out and proceeds to tell my husband they aren't taking anyone else (only 3 people in the waiting room). My husband let them know we just called and they said to come down. He said no and starts to walk my husband out and was smiling/laughing while talking to my husband. Meanwhile my poor son is historically crying from pain. My husband asked if there was something about the situation and he laughs while saying no. The entire situation was handled so poorly. I brought my 12 yo son in who was struggling to breath due to a cold. When asked if I was giving breathing treatments through a nebulizer I told her that I no longer owned one as he hasn't needed it in well over five years however we do keep an inhaler. Chelsea Barson NP felt the need to shame me in front of my son by saying..."no one just gets rid of a nebulizer. My son is 35 and I still have his" Her comments were not necessary or helpful. If I visit urgent care it's bc I need help for myself or a loved one and not bc I need to be scolded like a child in front of my child. She rolled her eyes and gave me attitude and was like "I don't think anyone is listening" I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable having people hear why I'm at urgent care and the fact that she didn't get that and that she was rude and condescending about it was awful. I'll spare all the details. I needed an x-ray. I called ahead and verified they do have an x-ray machine. Seems a lot of urgent care places don't, so now I always call to be certain. We showed up and they put me in the waiting room. There was no one else in the waiting room. It still took probably 20 minutes before they took me back, and maybe another 20 minutes before I was seen and the "doctor" (actually a CNP) said "yes, he needs an x-ray". The x-ray itself was pretty quick after that, but then another 20 minutes before she came in and told me what I already suspected: I had a broken foot. She put a splint on it, advised me to see a specialist, and home I go. If they hadn't taken so long I'd probably go to four stars. But as near as I could tell I was the only person there and it still took forever to get me seen. Once I was seen they were competent and professional. read more

The people who run this facility have no idea of what they are doing. I could have died from the way they approached a huge gash in my arm. Offered no tetanus shot, I was in shock from the type of injury I had, I did know they weren't going to touch me unless they numbed the gash up before cleaning it. Then I was told they couldn't do sutures on me. They left me exposed for a really bad infection. Also note there was no Dr. on call there either, just a PA who clearly didn't know what they were doing. They made one huge mistake after another!! I ended up in Dignity ER on Germann and Power and they told me that I should have had sutures, gave me a tennis shot, followed up with antibiotics, some pain meds and they were shocked I was left with an open wound then told to let air get to it after a few days, which was another huge mistake!! Banner Urgent Care should be placed on notice for the gross negligence on their part, especially after I just came off chemo. I then so my dermatologist Dr. who's a surgeon. He couldn't believe all the mistakes Banner Urgent Care did as well and said to not let the wound come in contact with air and keep it covered. What were these people doing and what type of protocol was PA Jose following at Banner Urgent Care, because they seriously did more harm then good. read more

There is not always an MD or DO on the premises, so if that is important to you, call first. Familiarize yourself with the difference between their specializations and education. (-1 star.) 3.) The waiting room has chairs all touching, and there is no place to go to be away from other potentially sick people. Poor design. (-1 star.) 4.) I did not have any issues with staff really, no one especially nice, no one super rude. 5.) Their system is not linked with banner health centers. Very frustrating. I checked in at 4:05 for a 4:16 appointment and was called in around 4:45. At least the staff was friendly and professional. David the PA who treated me was very calming and gentle considering the pain I was in. I got a text from my pharmacy before my little procedure was even started. That was nice to see that I wouldn't have to wait around when the time came to go to the pharmacy. Gina finished of my bandages quickly yet gently. I wish I could remember the MA who Frost got me settled in the exam room. She was also professional and friendly. I hope I can feel as comfortable on any future visits if needed. Went to this urgent care after battling a headache for several days that eventually became so bad I had neck, facial and throat pain. My right tonsil started to look like a science experiment. The PA barely even looked at or touched me, tells me I have the flu and to go home and rest?!? Why not do the RapidFlu test to confirm this diagnosis? Last time I checked the flu had the following additional symptoms (which I did not have) : a sudden fever - a temperature of 38C or above. aching body. feeling tired or exhausted. dry cough. difficulty sleeping. loss of appetite. Cut to the next day, I wake up in dehabiliating pain (obviously got worse) went to a different urgent care doctor who said I most definitely do not have the flu and that I have bacterial tonsillitis. If I could give 0 stars I would. I took my son in to have his collar bone/shoulder area checked out because he fell out of his bunk bed. Dr. Delana Brown didn't even look at his shoulder she touched it a couple of times and said if he could move it it couldn't be broken. I took him into his pediatrician for a follow up, she ordered X-rays and his collar bone is broken, he may have to have it reset now because its been a week! I'm so angry that she couldn't be bothered to even look at it and see that something was wrong. I'd love to see the X-ray they took at the urgent care also, how can you miss a displaced collar bone?! I flew into Phoenix from Houston on 1/2/2023 and woke up the next day hoarse and coughing. After several days of suffering I asked my niece to take me to Urgent Care. My father was a physician and I worked in the medical profession for years. I knew it was serious and I needed an antibiotic. I was seen on 1/5/2023 by JESSICA DAVIS FNP who stated it was viral and no antibiotic was needed. I asked her twice for an antibiotic since I was out of town and she just stood there with her arms crossed and said no, prescribing only prednisone. Against my gut feeling but giving the "professional" the benefit of doubt I suffered for 5 more days and then went to Chandler Hospital ER and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. I drove 55 minutes to get to this location just to be told there's a pretty long wait even with a scheduled appt, I get that there are staffing shortages but why are they accepting online appts if they are so short-staffed? After leaving I called and asked for the phone number to put in a complaint and the front desk lady hung up on me, so I called back and the second person (it was definitely a different lady, completely different voice) stated that they don't have a phone number to call but that THEY can fill out a complaint form FOR ME over the phone and THEY will turn it in on my behalf.... Brought my son here as my insurance is contracted and its the closest to our home. We were greeted by a kind front desk gal and helped right away to check in. However she was sick and coughing and could have afforded to wear a mask as well. They provided masks at the front desk for all that were coughing and that seemed to be everyone's chief complaint at that time. The lobby is huge and spacious, however need some trash control. Its an extremely busy time of the year, however I'm sure that since the staff don't stroll the lobby they were unaware of the trash on the floor of cups and kleenexs and it just looked dirty and didn't give a good 1st impression. There is a large TV hung on the wall, however it was turned off. I have read other reviews and not quite sure why it is even hanging there if it isn't utilized. Turn on some soft music or something, it was almost uneasy sitting there waiting and waiting.....and we waited over an hour with 3 other patients in the lobby. Once we were taken back we were seen very quickly and the physician spent less than 5 minutes with us and diagnose my son. read more
