Horrible service takes 2 hours to get a physical lady was in the front horrible experience

First off I want to say I put a really good review in for this facility a few months back however on Sunday the day before memorial Day I went in because I was having issues with my leg worried I might have a blood clot long story short I was treated with disrespect from the nurse that took my vitals trying to get me to get to the point of why I was there she acted like didn't want to be there I did it it's memorial weekend nobody wants to work however she told me the doctor's going to tell you to go to the hospital emergency to get an image done so if you want to still talk to him that's fine what do you want to do I said well I'll stay here and wait to see him as I've already paid a $50 copayment after sitting in the room 5 minutes goes by I can hear the nurse outside at the counter telling the doctor about my issues is vitals are fine over here the doctor tell her well I don't know what he's doing here what he expects us to do that really irritated me I decided to leave without my paperwork I walked out told him I'm going to the emergency room what a waste of time with my co-payment I looked at the doctor as he looks surprised you're really leaving he said I said yes by the way I told him these rooms are not sound proof he should be careful how you speak about your patience not ever going back to this facility again and I'm sure no manager is going to reach out to me to shame I have to leave this review they should get a lesson from the banner employees at BANNER Boswell because they treated me very well read more

I came to this location to have my lungs listen to and asked if they had an x-ray machine in case I needed an x-ray. They were unwilling to listen to my lungs because they don't do bloodwork and they don't follow up and they referred me to an ER. They refused to see me and I left. I went back in to get my drivers license and insurance card, verbalized my dissatisfaction with them not listening to my lungs, and clinical guy (blue scrubs) directed the girl to call security. Banner Health is right there with Abrazo and they're horrible. The waiting room had one guy waiting, and clearly the clinical guy had enough free time to nosey to the front desk, yet not address the situation. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone. I'm well aware that an X-ray requires a clinical review and order. An urgent care that 1) won't hear the patients concerns, nor 2) provide a basic service of listening to a set of lungs. Their recommendation to send me to an ER is a complete waste of healthcare dollars. Fortunately, I am in the health insurance industry and I know better than to take their lazy direction to take my lung request to an emergency center. Update: I went to the Honor Health Urgent care on 102nd Ave & Happy Valley. I was seen quickly, by a PHYSICIAN, and was given exceptional service and my concerns were heard and correctly understood. After being seen at another urgent care earlier in the day, I was told I needed a chest X-ray and was referred to SimonMed, but they were closed because it was Saturday. I called this clinic to confirm they could do the X-ray and was told yes, so I scheduled an appointment. After waiting for an hour, they finally informed me I would have to pay either $250 cash or over $600 out of pocket because my insurance would only cover one visit that day. When I asked for the nearest Banner Urgent Care near me I couldn't believe it was rated so low but I have never had a bad experience with Banner. I did not have an appointment but was in and out in 40 minutes. The people were wonderful.The PA on duty last name was Smith. She was great very informative and caring. I have been coming to this Urgent Care for over a year and have had good experiences for the most part, but today was VERY DISAPPOINTING. The absolute lack of respect given to me was truly concerning. I made an appt online under "cold/flu". At the front desk, the clerk asks you to complete a form and up top it asks for "reason for visit". I wrote "sore throat/fever/sinus symptoms and unfortunately also UTI symptoms". I have been under the care of my PCP and GYN for recurrent UTIs but it's not like I planned to have a coinciding respiratory infection AND UTI, and obviously my PCP did not have any appointment availability within the next few days, HENCE WHY IM AT AN URGENT CARE and anyone who has a UTI knows that a few days without treatment is awful and can be dangerous. The clerk asked me to provide a urine specimen while waiting to be seen. When the medical assistant, who I later learned might be an X-ray tech and probably really shouldn't be doing intake H & P's, took me back to the room, he was only concerned with my UTI symptoms, so I reminded him that my primary complaint (what I wrote first and what I scheduled appt under) was my sore throat and fever. He was extremely rude and said -"nope, you have to pick one, we can't treat you for both, insurance won't allow it". I said - well the front desk clerk READ the paper with my chief complaint and didn't tell me that, and asked me for a urine specimen, which he already ran the test on. So he and the provider (nurse practitioner) demanded that since they ran the urine, now I could only be seen for the UTI "bc of insurance". I've been an ICU nurse for 20 years and it was so amazing to me that they allowed insurance to dictate patient care - instead of actually treating the patient. I was literally crying in the room to the provider saying that I obviously did not WANT to feel this horrible with a fever and respiratory symptoms AND UTI symptoms at the same time, but it mattered not to her. I said that I obviously know that they will bill insurance for whatever work-up they do for my respiratory symptoms in addition to the UA and urine culture test, but they refused to assess me for that. I guess the uninsured patient can come in with a laundry list of complaints then, but the insured are limited to one complaint per day. I said I'll even schedule another appointment for later and they wouldn't allow it. They spent more patient care time arguing with me than just looking in my throat and ears to see if I had an infection. Unbelievable. Honestly, after I left, I realized all they needed to do "for insurance" was list my chief complaint as "Fever of unknown etiology", then upon a good H& P assessment (by a trained professional), I would have stated that I had respiratory symptoms and UTI symptoms, in which the provider would then perform assessments and tests accordingly. But bc the system is in place where to front office collects urine specimens while patient wait to be seen (which I think is actually a good use of time and should be a valuable part of the process), instead ended up pigeon holing me into ineffective care by the staff. They literally would only speak to me about the UTI. It was crazy! So, off I go into the world with a possible contagious illness and a possible UTI (awaiting culture results), but don't worry - the insurance mandate was met. So next time, I will write on the "reason for visit" : "I feel awful ...I have a fever... it's up to you, the medical professional, to figure out why...not the insurance company"...then the provider might hold up their oath to provide quality patient care and run all the necessary tests/physical assessment standards of care to figure out what is causing you to feel poorly enough to spend money on a co-pay, testing, gas, risk exposure to other sick patients, and time to get to an Urgent Care where you trust you will be taken care of (even with multiple body systems involved). I want to keep going here but I hope management and staff team can figure out a way to treat the patients with more respect. (Especially the way the tech spoke to me!) Ps I've worked in an ER too- I know health care is not perfect and I know that providers cannot spend hours looking into every single thing that is going on with a patient. But this was not that, this was a coincidence that two separate complaints were making me feel sick. Was my fever from the respiratory infection, ear infection, strept or the UTI? They would not test me for coronavirus. Despite explaining to them that I had been exposed to the virus AND my oncologist (who works at a Banner facility) had requested I get tested at a Banner Urgent Care before I could continue treatments they would not listen. This is abhorrent for an immune compromised cancer patient to be treated in this manner. read more

had an appointment at 11:15am for a sinus infection (im very prone to them so i knew i had one) finally got seen at 11:50am. doctor told me i had infected sinuses but didn't want to give me antibiotics since it hasn't been two weeks ? wanted me to come back after two weeks... i told her i couldn't afford to do that and she already agreed that i had infected sinuses and i needed to get better because allergy medicine, tylenol, ibuprofen wasn't working. it was just very weird felt like i was being money grabbed by this urgent care, i felt like i had to beg for antibiotics. ended up leaving at 12:25pm, so also very very slow service, the lady in the front was very sweet tho, but i wish i could give this place 0/5 stars for their horrible service read more

I gave this place a great review. But then I received a bill for for my part to pay. Just one thing ! It was a workmen's compensation claim so no copayments. Outside of the excessive long wait, my visit with NP Bob was excellent. MA Lisa was great, took all my info and covered all the basic questions. Bob was exceptionally pleasant. Was very sympathetic to feeling horrible, explained the diagnosis and how we were going to treat it. Again, the staff was exceptional!! As for the wait, 90 mins with 4 people ahead of me was crazy. The last thing you want to do when feeling horrible is sit in a waiting room. Someone needs to be more creative for quick turnaround or perhaps staff another NP. Thank you. read more

They said they close at 8pm but when I showed up at 7:25pm on a Friday with my son who sliced his finger open and needed stitches we were told they didn't "have time" but from what I could see there was only 1 person in the waiting room and an empty parking lot. Such a disappointing experience. My 14 month old woke up with a super high fever of 104 (103 under the arm) and was pulling at her left ear. She was recovering from a little cold so I assumed it was an ear infection, but of course I took her in to be sure and to get some antibiotics. Upon arrival, they tested her temp with the infrared thermometer - 101. I told them it was much higher at home but was on its way down after a dose of Tylenol. After being taken back, the nurse checked her temp under the arm - 102. So it was definitely high. But when the Nurse Practitioner came in to see her she basically refused to help because I told her the fever was up to 103 under the arm at home. I had to beg her to look in her ear. When she finally did, she said there was too much wax for her to see anything. She said I had to go straight to the ER because something horrible could be wrong. So fearing the worst I followed her advice. After an hour wait in the lobby and another hour wait in a room with an already miserable baby, we left with a prescription for an antibiotic for an ear infection and a $2,350 bill! I've never been more disappointed in a group of health care providers in my life. read more

I waited 40 minutes before having my two boys 4 & 3 get called back to be checked for strep. There was no one waiting or any patients being seen. I came here hoping it would be faster than their pediatricians office... There was a guy in black scrubs who didn't seem happy to be here and asked what my boys' names were several times and still kept mixing them up. He also thought that I marked one of my boys wrong on the patient info sheet.. I told him, "Yes, I marked MALE, becaue my son is male. He just has a little boy shag." He is wearing cargo shorts and a superman shirt... He doesn't look like a girl. And How rude of him to question what I wrote down, based on his first impression of my 3 year old toddler who happens to have a shag and not a buzz cut like him. He didn't have very nice bedside manner with myself or my boys. They diagnosed strep and walked out and said they'd be back in a few minutes. My boys are in meltdown mode and we need to get out of here. Yet they seemed to have no sense of urgency. We are still sitting here waiting in the room for them to come back and let us be on our way. I used I should have just driven further to my pediatricians office and waited there, I would have been done and on my way home by now. The plus on this place is that it's clean & new. That's about it. There's nothin fast about this place, not kid friendly and staff just don't seem happy to be here, they're not friendly and just act like you're an inconvenience... Which, if we weren't sick and needed to come in or if we had chosen to go to our normal dr, they wouldn't have made money on my two boys. I will reconsider coming here again, unless I really need the convenience of it being 3 minutes from my house. *Also, someone else claimed they got their meds before leaving... After a frustrating experience at NextCare this place was a relief. The staff was very patient and understanding and covered their bases when exploring possible options for a diagnosis. The last place had tested me for strep and sent me on my way but Banner had three tests run and found out that i had mono which NextCare had completely missed. While there isn't much they could do it was refreshing to finally have answers and staff that was a pleasure to interact with. read more

Carla at the front desk was so kind,Aaron the nurse that took us back, not only was he compassionate he was also hilarious he lifted up our mood at a time when my son was not feeling his best. If I could give this zero stars I would. My daughter was seen today by Nurse Practitioner Rich. He falsified records, medical treatment, and his exam!!!!! I've already made a complaint and plan on seeing this through to the end. My daughter has seen him twice now in the last month and both times he's lied. She's lost 10 lbs in a month and he never even mentioned it to me or felt concerned. She's been sick for the last month straight l. He never did an exam, but his records reflect he did. If he's working walk out of that facility immediately for your own safety!!!!! Honeslty the frontbdesk lady was rude and had zero want to be working or helping anyone . The girl who took my weight and vitals was alright but also rude and when I ask a question I was ignored and she slammed my room door behind her. The doctor was ok. He wasn't rude but he didn't even adress half the issues I was having and basically told me to take over the counter pain meds and go get a CT scan if it doesn't get better and that was helpful I get that they can't do that stuff there but literly 70 % of my issues I was talking to him about he ignored and only addressed one thing . We were called back about 30 minutes later and promptly seen by the NP. He was super friendly and attentive. Very unhappy that this urgent care lets clients with Covid symptoms wait in the waiting room. It would be more appropriate to either bring them straight back to an exam room or have them wait in their car until they can be seen. This review is strictly for the receptionist. Back in early August '18 my husband got extremely sick and I brought him in to this location. I called before we came in to see if I should check in online but the lady said that there was no wait. After getting there the lady at the front was beyond rude to us checking us in. You could clearly see she was having a bad day. We proceeded to wait over an hour. People were coming in after us and being seen before us, being 7 months pregnant and being with an extremely sick husband I thought an urgent care would be a better option and faster than an ER. I was wrong. We weren't seen until a doctor came out and asked the lady why haven't we been seen yet. The Dr. even apologized on her behalf. Why I'm writing this review now is because we were JUST informed that we had an outstanding bill. She had put his information and address in incorrectly and they were sending it to the wrong address.
