First time at Bannerman's to meet an old friend. The place is large! Apparently their big thing is hosting bands on the weekends. We stopped in around 1pm and the place was a ghost town. Here are some highlights: Service (3/5). Our waitress was fine. One other customer, so a pretty light day. Appetizer (2/5). We got the Bannerman basket. It had waffle fries, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, Mac and cheese bits with sides of ranch and marinara. M sticks were good. F pickles were ok. W fries were acceptable. Pizza (2/5). We ordered a large sausage and pepperoni. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It was a little undercooked and overall pretty bland. No Italian or Chicagoan would be proud! Aside from the food, I suspect it would be a great place to see a band. They also had a nice array of arcade games (see my pics). Probably won't be back for lunch. Bannerman's is really just a local place to grab a beer and watch a band play. I wouldn't come here for lunch or dinner, and it's pretty dead without a band. They've been severely understaffed so just be patient as you wait for your beer or table to be cleaned up. I'm hopeful once they move to a new location, the vibe will be better, they'll be fully staffed, and it'll just be a cleaner place to go. read more

Well we wanted to try out Bennerman and when we went there was a band playing and the band was pretty good. Her name was McKenzie but the weird part is we watched and not everybody was getting charged to cover charge but we got charged $10, I don't know if that's Where they think regular shouldn't get charged because we were trying it for only our second time. The first time we had chicken wings and a couple other things at the bar and the wings were good but maybe a little overcooked and drink specials were pretty good this time when we went we didn't know where there was a baron playing but we still paid the coverage charge of $10 And we ordered poppers and they were terrible and they seem like frozen ones out of a box but we stayed because the band was so good. Maybe next time you should tell your doorman to charge everybody the same and to treat everybody the same. read more

Listen up , I live in Bartlett and go to Bannerman's occasionally. The food isn't the greatest but it's a big place and you don't feel so crowded. They do get good bands most of the time. I've read some of the posts and you guys are way out of line. They charge everybody at the door 10 bucks. The place does not smell in the bathrooms are clean.Its a bar and not an elegant dining facility. Suck it up all you buttercup out there. Never had a bad experience at Bannermans. I usually go there when my favorite bands play there. Semple and Kashmir. It's under new management and the new management is a lot more attentive than the old. Peace read more

Me and a friend went for Bingo night and everything started out great. When bingo started our server disappeared and never came to check on us. My friend got up during the game to order drinks from the bar. After bingo was over which was about 1.5 hours later our server appeared and asked if needed anything and handed us our check at the same time. Then when we asked for a manager he talked to her in front of us and then ignored us and we never got to speak to him. So my friend and I paid the manager and walked out. Where was our server during the 1.5 hours of bingo when we wanted to order more food and drinks? read more

The smell of sewer gas is horrendous when you walk in. They haven't swept the leaves from two years ago out of the vestibule. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting! Smells like piss! It's a shame, invest in some cleaning/supplies/mop and you'll be surprised at the results! Use caution before you order food! read more

Been coming here for years but no more. Quality has completely taken a nose dive. Draft beer has a funky taste and beer was barely cold. In addition, the rude welcoming at the front door asking for a cover even though we're 2 HOURS before band even starts and have kids with us. Well here goes my review which seems on point with most of these reviews. I would literally give no stars if I could was here yesterday with a group of 16 of us. The waitress are beyond horrible and rude is an understatement we waited over an hour to even get our drinks let alone our food - we literally took it upon ourselves to take down everyone's food order and drink order if for not our sense of humor thru the whole ordeal there is no way in hell I would ever step back in this place! Well my own party members were let to place our own orders in the computer and even pick up our own orders from the bar, we got to know the cooks as well after having to go check on our food. We had no intention on tipping the staff but due to our party size tip was included must have been the reason their staff gave 2 flyin fks to work. You have been warned STAY AWAY from this dump because it sucks as a restaurant and sucks as a bar. read more

Our friends invited us out to watch the Hawks game tonight. I went to Bannerman's a few years back for a few cocktails and was unimpressed but I learned tonight that our friends really like to come here for Hawks games. They have a lot of TVs throughout the entire bar. In fact, I don't think there is anywhere in this bar that you can sit or stand and not see a television. The games are projected on 6 large screens. The clarity isn't great but they do the job. The volume of the music is turned down and the sound of the game is turned up during the game. When the Hawks score, they have some red siren type lights that run, they blow a loud horn three times and they play a few seconds of Chelsea Dagger. Whomever is running this whole set up, it's a lot of fun but try fading out the music when the replays stop and the game resumes. It's ok if we miss a few seconds of the commentary. The abrupt stop of Chelsea Dagger is not fun and if we're singing along, it kinda sucks when you just shut it off. It appeared, by scanning the bar, that I was not the only one annoyed by this. Now, I did peek on Yelp before coming here tonight and even though the 2.5 star rating didn't impress me, I went with an open mind as our friends chose the place and I wanted to make up my own mind about it. We were greeted promptly when we walked through the front door, found our friends and joined them a high top table in the center area of the dining area. I noticed several children here so I'm guessing they are going for a family feel if they allow kids but the place does not look family friendly. It's bar. Kids don't really belong in here and if they want to cater to families, then I would suggest a major remodel and layout change. It's a sports bar, people. So we were off to a great start with our server. She took our drink order practically while we were sitting down. I was impressed immediately! We grabbed a menu and started to flip through. I asked the server what was good. She recommended the chicken Cesar wrap (something she eats regularly), the broasted chicken and their pizza. I asked if they had soup and she told me they had Chicken Noodle soup tonight. I asked if it was homemade and she informed me it is not. I asked if the pizza is made fresh in house and she said no. So we ended up with the Cesar wrap and the broasted chicken. Our friends split a pizza and they had already had a nacho app before we had arrived. I noticed what was left on the plate from their nachos was a lot of lettuce and the chips you would find at Wrigley Field with that cheese sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my broasted chicken and my hubby enjoyed his wrap. My complaint about my meal was the waffle fries were over cooked so they were hard and difficult to eat (side note: there is an upcharge for these fries). He mentioned that his wrap was light on the chicken and heavy on the lettuce. Which, as you know, he RARELY complains, so I'm very certain he was right on the money. Now this stuff isn't a huge deal but now it gets worse. After our server dropped off the food, she disappeared for 47 minutes. We know this because the food hit the table at exactly 7pm when the game started and at 7:47, after we looked around for her (or anyone for that matter) she was nowhere to be found. We grabbed an older gentleman who was chatting with some (obviously regular) patrons and asked him if he could help us out since our server is MIA. He asked what we needed and took a drink order from us. She magically appeared as if from nowhere moments after he took our order. I'm guessing he was the manager or possibly the owner because from this moment on, we had 3 different servers (no ours) stop and check on us approximately every 4-5 minutes until we left. It was almost annoying now. Ultimately, our server never cleared ONE dish or glass from our table but everyone else did, I had to have another server get her for us at one point to ask her for refills on water and soda and someone else delivered them. Oh, did I mention that I had my plate sit in front of me with a napkin over it for about 15 minutes and ended up taking it and putting it on an empty table nearby to get rid of it? Later, we learned that she was serving tables on the complete other side of the bar. Why? We don't know. I was a server for many years and we always had sections. If you got pulled for a larger party or something, you tell your table that you're switching to a different section and inform them of who will be their server from that point forward. Management, please section your serving areas so servers are always nearby all their tables if needed. Ease up on the filler (ie. lettuce) a smaller diameter wrap would have fine but you try to make it appear larger by packing it with iceberg, is unnecessary. Consider looking into food prep as over cooked fries on two plates should have never left your kitchen. I think this place could actually be something if they worked out the little details! read more

My wife and I are both originally from Bartlett, but have long since moved. Yet, every time we've been in the area or passing through, we stop at Bannerman's out of sheer nostalgia about how good their wings are. That nostalgia, however, masks the fact that our orders are consistently, and unapologetically, botched. I've never had a single meal served without error in one form or another, be it take-out or sit-down. It's ranged from sauce missing, a size of an order being bigger or small than asked for to downright entire items missing! We'd long since stopped getting wings take-out because I got tired of getting home to Schaumburg to realize my order had been screwed up, yet again. The last straw was during a recent visit when my wife ordered bone-in wings. About two wings in, she found hair wrapped around a wing as though it'd been there while spun in the sauce. I tried to give Bannerman's the benefit of the doubt, but with her hair cut short and pulled back, there was little recourse. That, in combination with every messed up order over the course of about 3 years, finally and completely squelched any lingering fond memories either of us had for the place. The server was extremely sweet and apologized, removing the order from the bill after we asked her to discard my wife's wings, but when we asked to see the manager, he didn't so much as look in our direction. There are plenty of bars, pubs, wherever that one can get a cold beer and hot wings -- Bannerman's just isn't one of them. read more

I only stopped in for lunch during the week so I don't know how this place gets when a sporting event or live music is going on. (That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars) The place is very big with lots of TVs. There is a bar in the back if you're just coming in for a beer. I ordered just a plain hamburger with cheese and got a HUGE burger. (See picture). It was a double. I asked the guy if he made a mistake and he said, "No we want to set ourselves apart from other places so all our hamburgers are doubles." The meat was top quality beef and the bun tasted like they just baked it. It was more than I needed to eat, but it was so good I had to finish it. I'd definitely come back. read more

Ok I used to come here many years ago when I lived here. Now I moved back and had to get the pizza burger which was my favorite. It was amazing, but sorry I forgot to get a photo before I ate the whole thing. It was just the way I remembered it. I just want to let you all know the nachos are huge and the next thing I will get when I stop back. You will not be disappointed with either of these choices. I went to bannermans tonight with my husband for date night to see a band play. The band played well and we liked the type of music they were playing. We had some awesome, big and tasty wings and yummy waffle fries. My husband had the new beer of the month called Alaskan Chillin and I had a specialty drink called the Blue Hawian. My husband liked his cold draft beer and I loved my drink too. It reminded me of when I was in the Caribbeans. Also the waitress that we had was very nice and attentive. She also brought out our drinks and food in a nice timely manner as well. Aside from this she also had the same name as mine and we had few good laughs about it. So all in all we had a great time here. I don't understand some of these other bad reviews people are talking about. Also for the one review about putting in their own food and drinks into the computer I believe that person is definitely lying about that! I worked in a restaurant as a cashier before and No customer would be allowed to put in their own drinks or food orders in the computer. Only a worker that understands the system could do that for the customer! I've never ever seen a restaurant allow a customer to touch their computer system!! Pros: Great beer list, incredible fresh made potato chips. Cons: Few healthy options on the menu. I chose this bar to watch the Hawks game purely because of the name, only to find that the Blackhawks goalie of the same name is not affiliated with the restaurant, though they do little to discourage that assumption. SERVICE: server was friendly, if culturally insensitive, and food and drinks arrived fast. SEATING: The restaurant is huge, and unless there's a game on it's pretty empty on a week night. Bar seating consists of stools around the bar, and a handful of two seat high top tables. There are a multiple screens around the bar/restaurant showing a variety of sports games, but this place comes alive during Blackhawks hockey. More on that later. DRINKS: The beer list was a pleasant surprise, with a good mix of craft beers on tap. They allowed me to sample my selection before I ordered a glass, which was nice. FOOD: My server was knowledgeable about the menu, and recommended the fresh made potato chips as a must have. I agree with her assessment. They were incredible, and held their crunch after sitting in the fridge with my other leftovers. The appetizer was disappointing. I asked about the spicy quesadillas and my server said that they are made with hot sauce by "the Mexicans who work in the kitchen. They know spicy." It was a dripping mess. My chicken parm sandwich also failed to meet my expectations. It looked delicious, perfect amount of red sauce and mozzarella and served on a garlic bread roll. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was overcooked (dry) which ruined the rest of the experience. I liked that sides included an option for fresh vegetables, which besides the beer was probably the best part of my meal. THE GAME EXPERIENCE: There may be no better place to watch a Hawks game. All of the big screens show the game, with sound broadcast through the bar sound system. When the Hawks score, they play Chelsea Dagger (just the tune, but still fun). The bar is packed with fans in Blackhawks Red and it's almost as much fun as being at the game. read more

Bannermans is a large sports bar with tons of seating and some games in the front. We went with a large group a week ago. The majority of our group ended up with food poisoning (Macaroni and cheese and sandwiches were the big culprits!) the only ones that didn't get sick had ordered pizza. So if you're feeling adventurous, order the pizza. If you're looking for a quick easy way to drop 5 pounds and cleanse your colon, order absolutely anything else on the menu, I guess. read more

Used to go often a few years ago, decided to go for some drinks and food. Went on a night when a band was playing so was fairly busy. Out of quite few items that were on the menu, things I wanted to order they were out of potato skins and some sunrise drink, along with a few others the waitress listed off. Both mine and my husband order came out wrong, burgers obviously frozen patties. Once the band started it would take 25-45 min to get a drink, the waitress kept saying the bar is backed up it will be at least 20 min for a drink, which I thought was odd bc they were literally just cans of beer, others with us just wanted water. Maybe they need a better system to get drinks out maybe they need to limit amount of people to enter for staff to keep up but either way it's not working, was there for 3 hours and able to have 2 drinks. Also smells awful when you walk in, bathrooms are filthy and out of toilet paper at 8pm. read more

Always a good hangout. Tons and tons of tvs here with all the games on and TONS of seating. I havent been here in about 3 years or so and i am impressed. Service was up to par and very tentative. Food was quick and good! Drinks well beer is already made. Doesnt seem like much on taps i mean 99% of places have stella on tap mine was in a bottle. So not sure what else they didnt have but whatever no big deal. Pricing is good o ly 20bucks for 4 drinks and a burger w/ frys! Lost a star because i looked up at the specials and it wasnt that great. Most was for canned beer which is odd, and the rest vodka. So nothing impressive... least for me. I keep coming back hoping it will be different, but I am sorry to say, their food is just bad. I ordered a fish sandwich with fries. How bad could that be, right? Well, the obviously frozen fish block came out of the fryer over cooked and the oil permeated the well done breading creating an extra crusty, dark brown, oily mess. The bun had cold spots as if they just gave it a short shot in the microwave. The fries were half cooked. Brown on the outside, half raw in the middle. The Cole slaw was not creamy at all, just dry and tart. Our server seemed half asleep and paid more attention to her boyfriend waiting for her to get off, than us. But, I don't have issues with her, as much as I do with the horrible food decisions and quality of their kitchen. It's been like this for years. It's still a good place to watch sports and have a beer though. Just don't go there hungry, you will likely be disappointed. read more
