First time at Chicago Street Pour in Elgin, and I ordered to go. The painted words outside on the glass advertising the chicken pita is actually what made me stop in, but when I ordered it, the bartender said they don't offer it and it wasn't on the menu either. I ended up ordering the $9 lunch specials: a cheeseburger with scoop fries and chicken fingers. My husband said the cheeseburger was okay, and the customer service was friendly. One thing to note: the other lunch specials come with scoop fries, but the chicken fingers do not, they only come with dipping sauces. So I ordered an extra side of fries. The fries were actually good, but unfortunately, the chicken fingers were not. They were very, very greasy and not crunchy at all. Maybe the cooking oil wasn't hot enough, or the frying technique was off. I ended up removing all the beer batter breading, ate two of them, and tossed the rest. Overall, friendly service, but the food was just okay for our first visit. I'd probably try something different IF I return. read more

I keep coming back for the Detroit style pizza. It is really good! Also good, the salads, potstickers, mozzarella sticks, burgers, fries, wings and pretzel bites. Their sauces and dressings seem to be homemade and all really tasty! It is just sometimes service isn't so good. Sometimes the food is meh. The beef sandwich was dry, the chicken fingers overcooked and Cuban sandwich ok. I just wish they were more consistent. I joined the rewards program and have taken advantage of that. Surprisingly awesome! I was very skeptical when I walked into the restaurant because it was very dead on a Sunday night when the Cubs were playing. Ordered the Elote nuggets and cheesy bread for appetizers and they were so good! We ordered pizza and the Cubano sandwich and everything was amazing! There was only one bartender in the whole restaurant attending to all the tables and the bar, and he gave amazing & accurate service. I Highly recommended checking this place out if you're in the Elgin area. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Just wanted to tell everyone to follow their social media...They h as be a ton of fun promos! Tonight my son ate free for Valentine's Day and left with a gift bag of candy too. Kids always eat free one Sundays and Mondays is half off pizza. They recently changed their menu, and now the pizza is Detroit style. I will be back to try that. Tonight my son liked his tenders, I loved the honey mustard dipping sauce. The scooper fries is less potatoey than I expected, but they use sea salt to season them and that is awesome! My husband and I came here to watch a Bears game about a month ago and had a pretty positive experience! We wanted to try something new, and since this place had high reviews, we thought it would be a good place to try. Upon walking in, this place was DEAD on a Bears game day, so to be honest, we were a little hesitant because usually when good small taverns have Bears day specials as this one does, they normally are packed with people. We stayed here until half-time, and only a few other couples were sitting at tables and a few people sitting at the bar. It seems that this place has a lot of good daily specials, as well as promotions, so I suggest checking out their website or social media pages to see if you'd be interested. For the Bears Game Day promotions for us, the boneless wings were $7.99, Beer Brats with Fries were $6.99, a Bear Down Burger was $9.99, and then some beer and alcohol shots were only $3.99. They also had a raffle where we could have won a TV, but we had to stay there the whole game to be eligible to win, which we did not. We had awesome service from our waiter and the food was delicious. I ordered a Bloody Mary as my drink and it had a perfect combination of spice, tomato, and liquor. It was garnished with a skewer of cheese, peppers, and salami. Honestly, I would come back just for this if I wanted a quick drink. As for food, I was happy with my meal, although it was not exactly what I was expecting. We ordered the Cheesy Breadsticks ($7.99) as an appetizer, which was delicious and the garlic butter they were served with was to die for. However, the corners of the breadsticks were bare and had no cheese on them, and they tasted too plain on those crusted areas. That was a bit disappointing because, on the website, it shows ALL corners covered with a whole bunch of cheese. We ended up not eating the corners because they just tasted like fluffy bread we didn't want. They were still really good though. Many times when searching for a new place to eat, I search "Nashville Chicken Sandwich" because it's rare to find places with them as an option on the menu, while also made like an authentic Nashville hot chicken sandwich. This is what I ordered here ($14.89), and the sauce on the sandwich was delicious and spicy, but the chicken patties were nothing special. The chicken was good, but it wasn't cooked like an authentic deep-fried Nashville chicken sandwich; it didn't have the slaw, and it wasn't cooked with cayenne pepper or deep-fried with the major crunchiness that is unique to Nashville hot chicken. Many places just have a Nashville buffalo sauce and call it a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and this was the case here. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was still delicious, it just wasn't cooked how I expected, and the sauce was just drizzled on the chicken after cooked, rather than cooked IN the sauce. The sandwich came with scoop fries and they were pretty good and unique. I haven't seen many places that have these types of fries. They are basically steak fries, so if you like those, then you will like these. My husband also ordered a chicken dish, but he got the Boneless Buffalo Wings ($13.49). He ended up getting SO many pieces and they also came with fries. He enjoyed his meal, as well, and said that they were cooked well. Overall, we would come back here, even if it's just for appetizers. I'd love to try some other of the menu options, such as the different paninis. read more

We returned to try some different things, it happened to be half price burger night.... So burgers it was. I got the Farm burger, it was good but what's the purpose of wasting an egg on a burger if you're going to cook it hard. The patties are thin so no choice of doneness. It was overall good though. My wifes BBQ bacon burger had just too much sauce, something to remember for next time. The pretzel sticks we had were very good and there were allot of them. Both the cheese sauce and mustard sauce were really good. Again food was very good and very reasonable. Service was excellent as well. We took home pretzel sticks and without asking they brought containers for the sauces. That was impressive read more

Mango habanero grilled wings: the wings were perfect size, not too big, not too small. I thought it would be a little bit more spicy, but it was like a subtle kick. I still liked it though. The fries were my favorite part. They were like chips but not quite chips. Some are crunchy and some have crunchy edges and that soft potatoey center. By far, my favorite fries I've ever had. French drip: I'm not sure if it's because I added giardiniera and cheese that made it NOT a traditional tench dip anymore haha I liked the brioche style bun they used though. However, I felt like it was too much bun compared to how much meat was actually in the sandwich. I also got a side salad that took me by surprise. The portion was HUGE haha I mean I'm not complaining, it just surprised me. Southwest skillet: this was subpar for us. The cheese on top were slices and the bottom were the amazing chip fries but I felt like it didn't pair well in a skillet. I'm used to the more traditional diced/cubed potatoes in a skillet. We weren't also fans of it been like an omelette on top of fries either. The flavors were good though, it's spicy like a southwest would be. Also, they have $6 bottomless mimosas ...YES SIX DOLLARS BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS on Sunday for 2 hours from 10am until 2pm. I was there around 1pm and down 3 before I scarfed down my food. So I mean it's not bad for the price and time limit. The staff was super friendly. The space is really clean and open. read more

Update and another great review of this place. They are only serving Detroit-style pizza instead of their previously reviewed thin crust, tavern-style pizza. They do a good job on the Detroit-style pizza but I'm really not a fan of that style. We did talk to a manager and they are thinking of adding the thin crust back on, thankfully. On to the review. Their marketing claims them to be an upscale gastropub. You would think by walking in there that they are a local sports bar in a strip mall. I am here to confirm, they are a true gastropub in sports bar clothing. My wife is a Let it Pour Rewards Club member and she gets great deals. So we used the opportunity to go in for a great meal that was considerably discounted. We got there early in anticipation of them getting full quickly. We were right. Immediately after sitting down at our table, the place filled up quickly. They were slammed but the wait staff, the manager, and even the kitchen staff were expediting orders out timely. Great service under pressure. Great job guys! My wife ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and coleslaw. Perfectly done, with true Nashville heat that hits you near the end of your bite. In fact, it's a double chicken patty that if my wife didn't take one off, she'd have to unhinge her jaw or mush it down. For big-mouth guys like myself, no problem. Lots of delicious chicken and the scratch-made cole slaw was on point. I ordered the garlic prime rib dip. Thinly sliced delicious prime rib (I opted for Swiss cheese) on toasted Portuguese milk bread was just the right balance. The flavor was outstanding. The first bite I took was without dipping in the au jus or the lovely horseradish sauce. It was delish on its own, but if you really wanna blow your mind on this, first dip in the au jus and then the horseradish sauce. The milk bread bun soaks up the sauces beautifully. Killer! We did order an appetizer, the Big Bang shrimp that actually came out after our sandwiches. It was no big deal to me as they handled the miscue perfectly. We always order this when we go there. Big meaty Argentinian red shrimp lightly battered with a sauce that is very, very good. Actually, having the shrimp with the prime rib dip was like an odd but absolutely satisfying surf and turf. Pour House is a very nice upscale beer bar and gastropub. We came here for the first time on a quiet weekend afternoon. The menu is extensive and we were assured that everything good. We got a couple beers and the Big Bang Shrimp. The shrimp were doused in a chili sriracha sauce and served with a mango salsa. We are from out of state and our trip plan's completely changed leaving us to find new food and things to do.. and its sunday.. on new years eve..and we have triplet 5 year olds.. This place had a kids new years eve buffet and "party" and it was perfect. The staff was so accommodating and the food was really good. The kids buffet had chicken tenders, pretzels, their signature fry boats and fruit all fresh and brownies for dessert. The kids ate plenty and were pleased. We ordered buffalo traditional wings and a garlic prime rib dip. Both great choices and price worthy! They also gave our kids party favors and a balloon drop "countdown" for new years eve which was all much fun. We were so glad to add this cozy sports spot to our trip! Not many places have breaded wings, so I was pleasantly surprised to see them on the menu. They were perfectly cooked and the bbq sauce wasn't overly sweet or tangy. We went for the fish fry this evening. The fish was great. They are presented as 1 inch by 3 inches pieces. We ordered 1 beer (old style) and 2 glasses of wine, small order of wings ( they did not come sauced as order - they did send out sauce) upon request) the primary order of fish is 4 sticks and additional order is 2 sticks. We received 12 sticks total (about the size of 2 small fillets). The bill was over $80. 00. (Not including tip) We will not return. I believe I understand why your restaurant and bar area was almost empty on a Friday night (with happy hour) when we arrived at 5:00 and left at 6:30. We will not be returning. I ordered the chop chop salad and margarita pizza. Lucky for me, it was half off pizza day (every Monday)!! The pizza was huge, nice crunchy and chewy crust and plenty left over for leftovers. The salad was high quality, consisting of mixed greens and Romain, celery, cucumber, tomato, parm etc. What really makes or breaks a salad (other than the freshness and selection of ingredients), is the dressing, and all their dressings are home made. I tried their Cesar and their balsamic. Both were excellent! I even paid an extra $0.50 to take a side of ranch to dip my pizza in. Again, I was here for lunch, but not many customers were eating here. I don't know why other than maybe they're new. Idk but I encourage everyone to look at their menu and give this place a shot. Their lunch today was fantastic, their other menu items look really good and I think they have daily specials. First time here and we went because we heard they had Detroit style pizza. Driving by it's easy to miss and from the outside we expected something a lot smaller. Going inside however it was a very large open space with plenty of seating. It had a modern vibe and plenty of TVs. We were greeted by our waitresses immediately and she was super friendly. She gave us time to look things over and kept checking back. They had Pollyanna Lexical Gap on draft that was amazing. We went with the Detroit Margarita pizza that had tomatoes and tons of garlic. It's not pan or deep dish so don't bother comparing. You get a great caramelization on the edges like Pequods but again no comparison other then the yummy ends that are almost burnt. We really enjoyed the pizza. The rest of the menu looked great so we're looking forward to come back with friends for other dishes and to share a different take on pizza for a change. I came with high expectations and they definitely delivered! We shared a few appetizers for the table, the mozzarella sticks were HUGE (like a good 7-8 inches long) and delicious, chicken tenders crispy, the wings with raspberry BBQ sauce were nice & smokey. I had the prime rib dip which was amazing, even the bread it was on was just so good and served with the best fries I've ever had. The portions were HUGE, we ended up having to take home more than half of everything because there was so much! we also tried the Jameson peach tea and their mule which were also made to perfection. A very disappointing bar where the staff is only friendly if they recognize you and you have to be a long time regular the food here was awful and I did not like the beer that they had in choice and overall the bar seems to be another gambling place pretending to be a bar. This place is very small and is in a rundown strip mall it is really not worth your while to go even if you're in the neighborhood. I would recommend you go out of the neighborhood and drink somewhere else. This place has overpriced drinks and just overall is not a fun place to be around read more
