Rating: (3.6/5) We love coming to Banners to hang out with friends. Most of the time we stop in for a few beers and some finger foods, but this visit we decided to have dinner. We started with the Wisconsin cheese curds, and they were delicious--definitely one of the better appetizers on the menu and something I'd order again. For our entrees, we had the steak quesadilla and the buffalo chicken tacos. The steak quesadilla wasn't anything fancy, but it had great flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The buffalo chicken tacos were also tasty, although I wish there had been an option to order them with grilled chicken instead of fried. The staff is always friendly, and we've consistently had good service every time we've visited. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with good food, cold drinks, and a fun atmosphere for dinner or game day, Banners is definitely worth checking out. read more

I have been to Banners several times. Each one my friends and I have amazing food and service. We typically go on Wednesday nights for Singo. Prices are fair. Their food ranges from pub fried apps like fried banana peppers, fried pickles, nachos, quesadillas, and dips. They recently added a eggroll of the month. I have tried it once and it was a southwest chicken one. Delicious. They offer pizza, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and entrees like salmon and meatloaf. They have something for everyone. On weekends they offer live music too. It's a great neighborhood spot. read more

My first visit to Banners was a great experience. The menu had so many options that I wanted to try but I settled on the Tender Melt. It tasted wonderful. The service was great even with being part of a large group and also the restaurant being pretty busy with Singo going on. It was a fun environment, with lots of TVs for game watching. Had a very large group of almost 30 people yet waitress was able to split everything up which don't see often anymore so that's a huge plus to not have to deal with that headache at the end. Was told by a friend the Philly cheesesteak was good but to get it as a wrap and must say it's one of the best cheesesteaks I've had because it was thick cuts of beef and juicy and had good amount of peppers too. The fries are ok so would say get something else as a side. Also ordered buffalo wings appetizer but they weren't very crispy and kind of underwhelming. I'd go back just for that cheesesteak wrap. Have you ever been sitting right beside a treasure but didn't notice it? You know like when the star athlete lives next door to a girl perfect for him but it takes the entire movie for him to realize it? Well this is like that. Well, sort of. You see, in this story, I am the star athlete who has overlooked Banners Grill and Pub for eight years now-- only to have finally fallen in love with the girl-- I mean the grill next door - Banners. This is the story of how we met and how I fell in love. For eight years I have lived a stones throw away from Banners off of Boston Road. I drive by there sometimes four times a week. They are always packed - with cars lined down the side of parking lot. And don't even get me started as to the " big game" days. But despite this fact, when I ordered delivery from Banners the first time-- I was so very happy that I finally did so. The dish, though only lowly chicken tenders and fries- was amazing. The tenders were crispy outside and so good inside. And these were no regular tenders - each one was half the size of my whole hand. And then the fries. Crispy and delicious. Oh and the ranch. That glorious homemade ranch. Such a terrific bite. You can't go wrong. I'm so glad I finally noticed the girl next door. Or should I say- the GRILL next door. We loved banners. We went for an early Mother's Day meal on the patio. The food was great. Best garlic Parmesan wings I've ever had drenched in really amazing sauce. The pigs in a blanket are so good and the fried Oreos are to die for. Our waiter was awesome and made sure our dog always had water. Fun place. Very crowded. Good craft beers. An 80's band started at 9:30 and they were great. They have really good traditional bar food. My favorite was the fried pepper jack cheese balls. Everyone at the table loved them. I had the nachos with buffalo chicken and it was enough for two of us. Our friends had burgers and they looked great, big, thick beef patties. I have been there twice on a mid-afternoon with only people around the bar and empty tables. It seemed like both times the female bartender and the server didn't want to do their job. I literally timed it to see how long it would be to be acknowledged and I waited 10 minutes IN AN EMPTY BAR/RESTAURANT !!!! They knew I was there, but was more interested in the regulars than they were new people (who could have potentially become regulars themselves.) This is DEFINITELY a neighborhood bar ONLY for the local residences. !!! I have told anyone willing to listen to NEVER go there !!! read more

We wanted somewhere to watch the football games and this was a great spot. They have a nice indoor/outdoor patio. The place was packed, but we found 2 seats at the bar. Hubs had a beer. He had the grilled pork entree with spicy slaw and mixed vegetables. I had the smoked meatloaf with Brussels and Mac N cheese. The Mac N cheese was the star. The food is excellent, the portions are huge, and the atmosphere is great. Stopped to watch a ball game while passing through town, our server was super helpful and even pulled the game we wanted to watch up on the projector for us! Ordered cheese curds and potato skins as appetizers, between the four of us, we couldn't finish either of them because the portions are so generous! I ordered the Grilled Italian Sub with coleslaw for the side, again, very generous portions - could not finish either after the apps. Highly recommend if you're passing through Lexington. I came here with friends to watch the epic UK game win, and had some drinks and food. I ordered a few appetizers like cheese curds, fried green tomatoes, and spicy green beans. Everything was delicious and service was quick even with the amount of people here for this game. The drinks were good and the food was even better. Not a huge fan of Banners food but in a pinch it is very fairly priced. I will say that I love have a few drinks there and maybe an appetizer. The people working there are always nice and accommodating. I have tried many of the food items and while they aren't up my alley I know many of my friends love the food. They stay open really late as well so for late night crowd that is a plus. Also a GREAT place to eat cheap and catch a game! Their TV set up is insane maybe 25 tv's in a smaller space. Five stars for a dive bar with good food, cold beer and friendly service. On Saturday they had live music too. This place is tucked back and kind of hidden away, but a party is going on inside for sure. Plenty of tvs, full bar and restaurant tables. They can accommodate large parties too. I didn't see any kids, but this place definitely seems like anything goes. If you're worried about Covid protocols- this place is definitely not for you. They seemed to be operating at full capacity, with people walking and dancing around with no masks. No enforcement. Food was good and there were plenty of options. I got the Buffalo chicken wrap and smashed potatoes. I would go back to try more menu items. This is a fun place to go to with friends or to watch the game. read more

We have been coming to Banners for years and I'm always pleasantly surprised when they have new items on their already extensive menu. The next item I tried and loved was toasted ravioli with marinara sauce. We also got the chili nachos with queso - always a favorite! This is a great place to hang out with friends. There are a lot of TVs, Keno and prior to Covid had a lot of great bands! Hopefully they will be able to return soon. read more

This place has some pretty good food. The burgers here are my favorite. They also host some pretty good live music from time to time but make sure to get here early as the place fills up fast! I was today years old when I found out Banners wasn't just a bar. I've heard about it for years but am rarely in that neighborhood but this would end up being my lucky day. Our group ordered a variety of apps to share - nachos, wings (spicy garlic), fried banana peppers, and fried cheese balls...you know, all the health foods. Everything was tasty and there are lots of other menu items I'd come back for as well. I did think the nacho chips were a bit salty (they seem to be fried in house but unsure) and I would try another wing sauce only because I'd prefer to have something a slight bit spicier. My experience at Banners was pretty good. It's definitely a sports bar, so I wouldn't advise going there for a quiet meal. It was very loud inside and they had big fans going that oscillated, it made it VERY WINDY. They definitely seemed unnecessary to have going on a Saturday afternoon with no huge crowd present. That's my biggest complaint and the reason I'd think twice before going back. Now to the food. I came to try their burger. I'd heard good things about it, and it didn't disappoint. The meat tasted fresh and it was very juicy. I did order mine well but should have gotten medium well as it was slightly overdone. I also got french fries. I'm not usually a huge fan of shoestring fries because they tend to be overcooked, but these were well seasoned and quite good. If I order from here again, it will probably be a takeout order because the interior was just too loud and windy. So 4-stars for the food, 2-stars for the atmosphere. read more

Great sports bar with a easy vibe. They have a lot on the menu so it can get overwhelming but the burger looked great. I got the rueben-it was tender and delicious. I would easily order it again. They even have mini corn dogs if you wanna have an easy snack while downing a local beer. You better root for Kentucky though if they are playing though because it is a hub! read more

I came in town to visit a friend who just moved to Kentucky. We came out looking for little places to have fun watch sports and have a beer or two. So we stopped by on Sunday, bar was packed with different fans, very fun atmosphere,. Food was good, the only issue is your staff. The food runners looked like she was mad rolling eyes and just plan angry that she had to work or something. Our server stop over and took our order and came back with our drinks and never came back didn't see her or anything. Tables everywhere had dirty plates empty glasses and your staff was MIA. I hope you take this into consideration and help the staff out because not once did I see a manager. The bar is great just need more help or new staff. read more
