Recently tried the new Fall beverage menu which I included a butter pecan beverage! While this is one of my favorite flavors, the drink was a little too sweet for me, but I think any fall girlies who like sweet drinks will love it - and it was so unique! Great place to take a breath while kiddos are shopping for books.

Really enjoy their food and I love sitting by the window with a view of the lake with ducks and swans. Their soup of the day is always great. The servers are very friendly. The food is typically a little on the slower side coming out. It's great that it is attached to such a wonderful book store!

Finally went to Bronte Bistro. Don't know what took me so long. The quiche was delicious. The crust was buttery and had just the right amount of everything. Plus the portion was quite big. The hash browns were also perfectly seasoned and crispy. As for the service, it was ok. I felt bad for our server as she appeared to be the only one that was tending the bar for the entire bistro and then serving us at the same time. So our service was a bit slow but that's because they had her stretched thin. I plan to go back though.

Adorable little bistro tucked inside the coziest book store. Very reasonably priced and the food was very good. I tried the Kentucky Hot Brown which had a mornay sauce. I've never had this before but would compare it to a béarnaise sauce. It was delicious I just wish there was more of it! I couldn't leave without dessert so I got a piece of peanut butter pie to go and it was surprisingly amazing. In all honesty it didn't look like anything too special but it was heavy with peanut butter flavor and very rich!

I have been to Joseph Beth so many times throughout the years but last night was the first time I ate at the cafe, Brontë's Bistro. It was later in the evening on a Saturday (around 8pm) and there wasn't a wait for a table. The cafe is roomy and spacious and there were probably 10 other tables occupied while my friend and I were there, all in various stages of dining. The menu mainly consists of sandwiches and burgers, although there are maybe 8 entrees to choose from, some salads and 3 appetizers. I would have liked to seen a little more variety in the options. My friend and I both had the crab cake sandwich, which was two crab cakes with remoulade, lettuce and tomato, served on a croissant with chips and a pickle. It was tasty but not something I would make a special trip to the restaurant for. Our server wasn't too attentive and we waited awhile for our check and refills. All in all, the Bistro was okay, but I wouldn't make a special trip just to dine there.

    Best Peanut Butter pie ever!

Awesome little spot in the back of the bookstore! Great patio with awesome water views of the pond! The service was incredible and the food... ooo the food.. so we drove down from Cincinnati to go to the red river gorge.. glad we stopped here on our way back! We started with Fried Green Tomato's loaded with Cheese and bacon( umm need I say more?) then we had the fish sandwich and Hawaiian Jerk chicken... then to end the splurge, we had the best and creamiest peanut butter pie ever!!... like serious I was too full but couldn't stop eating it!! There was not one thing that was not just amazing! I will return to try more!

Nice small restaurant inside the bookstore. I especially enjoy seating near the windows that overlook the duck pond. I will admit, I usually only dine here when I receive a coupon (these come with the loyalty plan). The menu does not seem to change frequently. The salads and sandwiches are good. Sometimes the servers can be hard to catch for condiments and refills, but you can get a quick meal here that you will enjoy.

But the food was so good! I had been there once before, shortly after opening, and thought it was so-so. But the 2nd visit was a much better experience. Since we had a large group, we sampled each other's dishes and everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was really good. I had the "make me something sweet" mocktail and it was pretty and tasted refreshing. Our server was top notch and explained every dish on the menu, and gave us recommendations. He really took his time with us, and you could tell he was a pro. More excited to return after this second visit than after the first! 11/26

For our appetizer, we had the beef tartare, it was also just okay. We didn't even finish half of it. The star of the dish was the rye crisp, unfortunately. For our entree we had the baked rigatoni and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin dish was delicious and so was the rigatoni. That was a plus. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Be prepared to yell at your table partner. Between the amount of people talking loudly (I assume to attempt to talk over the loud music) and the music, and being seated really near other people, having a conversation was difficult. So don't go with anyone who is hard of hearing with background noise (my husband lol). Food took a little longer than what I'd prefer to come out. The restaurant itself had a great vibe and decorations were cute.

We also had coffees (regular drip for me and an iced latte for him). And I also tried the key lime gimlet. It's made with Castle & Key gin which is a favorite of mine. Ambience was very nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a side of bacon. I am very particular about my bacon and it came out cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Service was fantastic and pleasant. The only criticism I had is that the red onion in my omelet was bitter. But no one's fault, sometimes onions are very astringent. Everything else was delicious and well made. Oh and we got the house made cinnamon roll for the table. This was delicious. So buttery and gooey with cinnamon. We will be back, maybe for dinner to try their dinner menu!

It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

You can tell they're putting some effort into the food instead of relying on the cool Ford theme to carry the place. The burgers are seriously good, cooked right and full of flavor, and the onion rings are definitely worth ordering. Everything we tried tasted fresh and well prepared. Service was just as impressive. Friendly, attentive, and on top of things without constantly hovering around the table. And then there's the atmosphere. If you're into cars, especially classic Fords, you could probably spend half the meal just looking around. The vintage cars, engines, gas station details, and garage theme are extremely well done. Even the bathrooms are part of the experience, which is a sentence I never expected to include in a restaurant review. It's just a fun place with genuinely good food and great service. Ford's Garage could easily get away with being a novelty restaurant, but the food is good enough that I'd come back even without all the automotive stuff. We LOVED our time at The Obstinate Sons! This place is a MUST TRY!…read more We were recently on a little getaway for our Anniversary, looking for a good spot to have a nice dinner. We really struck gold finding this gem of a spot!! The atmosphere is perfect! Soft lighting, not a lot of tables, not at all crowded, beautiful decor, we were very impressed from the moment we stepped in the door! Our waiter stopped by our table pretty quickly and did such a great job for our whole dining experience! He was very helpful when we asked for recommendations, and was perfectly attentive throughout our time! Several super friendly people stopped by our table over the course of our evening, the service was remarkable! Obstinate Sons keeps a small menu - I love this!! Not only does it make it easier to choose what to order, it also typically means a place does the things they offer, VERY well! This idea fit accurately with this restaurant! Every single thing we had was top notch and done so very well! We left so impressed! We started cocktails! The bar tender was excellent and had our drinks out quickly! We both ordered various Old Fashioned's, when in Rome, right?! Since we were in town for some local distillery tours, it only felt right to sample some of the local flavors - and they have a LOT of choices! Extensive bourbon list! Everything we had was superb! Next we went in for an appetizer, the deviled eggs! They rotate how they make them, variating flavors and ingredients! I can't remember exactly what flavors they had the night we were in, but they were delicious! Bacon and horseradish were for sure elements! Loved these!! I am a sucker for a good salad so when I saw that they offered a wedge salad with their "own memorable bleu cheese" I knew I had to try one! It was extremely memorable as I'm still thinking about it weeks later! ;) The roasted heirloom tomatoes were exceptional, tiny little guys packed with SO much flavor! I could have used a few more of those, they complimented the salad so perfectly! The toasted onions were also superior! This was a really great salad!! Next up entrees with beers! :) We tried a couple of beers we had never had before, the Bearded Iris Homestyle and the Country Boy Cougar Bait - both amazing and refreshing!! We ordered the Prime Pork Chop which came with the most delectable risotto, wow! So good! We also ordered the Sole Piccata which was quite possibly the best fish entree I've ever tasted! The sauce was perfection and the fish was perfectly prepared with the best panko parmesan crust, HIGHLY recommend!! We also tried a side of the Smashed Roasted Garlic Herb Red Skins Potatoes, very good! The sides serve 3 so they go a long way! We had too much to finish!! ;) Lest you think I'm finished here, I haven't even gotten to the best part! DESSERT!!! We don't often order dessert out - we don't usually save room and it's just not usually our thing. Because we were celebrating our anniversary, I guess we felt extra on this particular evening because we decided to try some dessert. After some great explanation and recommendations by our server we landed on the bread pudding. This dish also varies regularly with the chef's discretion. They have different flavor profiles that rotate, if I understood correctly. On this particular evening the waiter explained the bread pudding feature: I wish I could remember the way he described it, word for word. I'm struggling to remember the details but I believe it was a chocolate bread pudding with a caramel bourbon sauce. Maybe something to do with Kahlua sauce. You'll have to forgive my memory, I just don't know all that he said - however, what I DO know and am QUITE certain of, this was very literally THE BEST dessert I have EVER tasted in my life! EXTREME delight! I literally told my husband I felt like my life was complete after finishing this dessert, it was THAT incredible! My advice on this restaurant - Do not skip a bourbon based cocktail and DO NOT SKIP DESSERT! ;) The entire meal was an honest absolute pleasure, but those two things stand out for me about our meal! If there were a yelp rating higher than 5 stars, The Obstinate Sons would deserve it - EXCEPTIONAL PLACE!!! Make this your next choice!

It is good food, I got the shells and it was good, but nothing I would go out of my way to have again. Cons: - Somewhat of a small menu (both food and cocktail); I think (for me) expanding the cocktail menu would be a very feasible upgrade for this place. - It's toss up on prime time weekends how long you'll have to wait for a table since its a pretty small place
