Disappointing. Even though we had a reservation, it took 20 minutes and 3 different check-ins (one on each floor) to get seated. Once seated it took another 10 minutes to be greeted. From there, we ordered drinks, wings and nachos. The wings and nachos came out in under 5 minutes. The 3lb wing order was more like 1.5lbs and poorly done (it takes more than a few minutes to make decent wings). Our sever was also working behind the bar, yet we were in a large section on the top floor with many tables. Therefore touch points were few and far between. Given all of these issues, we asked for our check (took forever to get anyone's attention), paid our bill and left. With the NFL playoffs and a Bruins game that night, I would have expected an all hands on deck approach. We were there for about 45 minutes, which was 45 too long, and I'll never go back. Terrible Customer Service! Food is not worth it. I was charged the full bill on my credit for the party when it was split. After two separate trips back to the restaurant to resolve the issue, a signed receipt and an email to a manager I still have not been refunded and it's been a month! I'm so disappointed in multiple mangers of this restaurant lack of customer service and follow through. Received a very unsympathetic email saying my account will be refunded in a few days, still nothing! This was their MISTAKE! I've already moved company dinner to a different place because I'm so frustrated. The decor is beautiful but food not worth it. This place is super expensive and honestly not worth it. I ordered the buffalo wings and fries and my close friend ordered a burger and fries. He liked his. I didn't. The chicken wings were super overcooked and the fries were similar to the (really crappy) fries served at Buffalo Wild Wings. The bathrooms were very clean and nice. They are kinda weird though. It says "all gender" or "gender neutral bathroom" but it's only where the sinks are. The toilets are gendered (Male/female signs on different doorways leading to different rooms. I liked the big T.V. Everytime there's a concert I have to attend with my buddies, we park our butts in this restaurant until the lines start moving along. We have now stuck to the nachos because their portion is pretty huge and it has a nice mix of beans, cheese and some peppers. The waiter's also so friendly and service is quick too! You should kind of know what you're getting into here, just from surface-level clues. The amount of TVs is fantastic and the space is expansive, but the accolades basically stop there. The food is very uninspired and overall pretty flat. The service was a bit chilly too, just seems like they want to simply clock-in and clock-out. The good: giant screen, terrific atmosphere outside during a game at TD garden, customers are sports fans and really into the game, nachos are great The bad: something's changed in the last year. People are no longer allowed to stand, resulting in a much tamer atmosphere. This wasn't the case earlier. Also, they now have mandatory subtitles on the upper half of the screen, which significantly interferes with watching the game. They say this is mandated by the state, but I have never seen this in any other sports bar. This also was not the case earlier. You can see the impact of these changes on the demand. During last year's Celtics playoff run, there used to be a long line to get in. That's no longer the case. I still love going here, but the subtitles in the upper half of the screen might be a deal breaker. No one wants to read live commentary during a sports game! Where do I even start? *39.5 foot Jumbotron TV behind the main bar *Enough TVs to see one from literally everywhere in the building *Private event space with a separate bar *Top Golf swing suites!! Amazing experience for a group of friends at college, or as a family outing with young kids. The suites come with their own server, and feature games including soccer, football, zombie dodgeball, and carnival games *an UNREAL drink list. Over 40 beers, and beautiful cocktail menu. I love the fact that I can use the untapped app because they update it daily! *The craziest dessert I have ever seen (The kitchen sink). I won't spoil the surprise, you'll have to find out for yourself!! I saw a few reviews about wait times but I don't think that's fair. The place is ALWAYS packed, and I've noticed that people like to stay and watch whole games, myself included. A four hour wait makes perfect sense if you show up 30 minutes before the game expecting a table! In the future, I'll always try to get there with some time to spare. I am in love with the beer choices and buffalo cauliflower. Our bartender, Sean, was great. We came in last week but unfortunately the water line broke out front so we only had a couple drinks. I sampled a few beers because I could not decide which I can't express enough is so important. Craft brews are hard to identify as favorites of without sampling... descriptions just don't do it. The buffalo cauliflower is so epic I ordered it twice. The tacos are tiny but equally amazing. And whoa. The guacamole is epic. One the service was completely and utterly rude. Extremely shocking. Accused us of seating ourselves and then asked us to move. We already had ordered our drinks and were dating food. There were perhaps 10 other tables of two that particular server could have sat the others at. Was rude, did not apologize for the miscommunication and waited up my butt until I moved which took a second. Drink was awful. Do not come here if you want your vibe to be ruined by the lack of ambiance given by the host staff. It looked like the oldest one in the bunch, def needs a talking to on customer service. Lost out on a customer and immediate no tip! Think about your actions and how you lost your server friend tip money. This is the first Yelp review I have ever left. I cannot recommend Banners less. I have been here twice, at 2 different times, and both times the service was terrible. I've waited 15+ minutes for a round of beers to be delivered to the table. This is completely unjust considering the prices at the establishment. I will never return to Banners again, you're better off going literally ANYWHERE else in the city of Boston. This place sucks. That's just ridiculous and at that point you shouldn't even be taking names. Food was pretty good. Great selection of beers! Tons to choose from. Cauliflower was way too fried and not good but the wings were good and the pretzel is the best deal!! You get to gigantic pretzels and a yummy cheese sauce. The waiters were nice. They seem to know it sucks for guests to wait for ever and want to help in any way they can. The TVs are all fixed to a certain channel and can't be changed though. Finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint! I went with a group of friends and there was a Celtics game that night so we called ahead about getting a table. The hostess was very nice and added us to a waitlist and texted us when our table was ready. This was perfect because we were coming from across town. The host also informed us that if we wanted to wait until the game starts then it shouldn't be as crowded which I'm so glad she told us this!! The atmosphere was great and I really did like it here so the reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because not everyone in my group like the food. I got the fish and chips and it was delicious! My friends got the sweet potato noodle bowel and they thought it was going to be warm but it was cold so they wished the menu said it came cold. But I will say one of my friends is gluten free and they were very accommodating. She had to ask the waitress because it wasn't listed in the menu just FYI! Overall I definitely recommend coming here especially with friends on a game day. It's a fun atmosphere and the giant tv at the bar is a huge plus to watch the game. I knew the place would be big and packed but I was shocked with both the size and crowd. Last November, I stopped by Banners with a friend before catching a comedy show next door at the Garden. We had to wait a few minutes before we were allowed in (that should have told you something about crowd size). Once we ascended the stairs, it was shoulder to shoulder standing room and it took some time before my friend could order a drink at the bar. The tv screens, true to what others have said, are massive. Behind the bar, there are about 20 "smaller" screens and four "big" screens. The night we were there, the four big screens worked together to be one big screen. It's like being bombarded with visual stimulation given the size and brightness of the screens. On top of that, they have a private area for parties. The night we were there, a bunch of people had gathered for a birthday party. I only found two bathrooms (they were directly above the bar). I doubt they are the only two. They were reasonably clean given the number of people at Banners. I had been interested in seeing this place for myself. Pictures were pretty and it's clearly a logical spot to grab a drink before doing anything next door. However, I have to agree with others that overall, this place lacks service. Once my friend eyed a place to sit upstairs, we heard others being told they couldn't sit in our area. The area wasn't marked off limits so it wouldn't have been obvious, and in general, the floors were mad sticky. read more
