I brought my 2004 Ford F250 in for a regular smog check. During the smog check, the inspector, Joshua Zamora, claimed that my catalytic converters were illegal/tampered with due to them being welded in. He also tried claiming that my O2 sensors had spacers installed. I told him they are from the factory and have never been tampered with. Lots of trucks have welded catalytic converters, and that he needs to check for a CARB number before he makes an accusation like that. He then went back and found the CARB number, and confirmed no spacers on the O2 sensors which tells me that he never even checked for it in the first place! He found the CARB number on the catalytic converter and passed my truck, but an accusation like that purely because my catalytic converters is welded in is BULLSHIT! I then stayed silent until the transaction was complete and I got my paperwork, and then I respectfully told him that he needs to confirm stuff 100% before he goes and makes an accusation like that, especially because HIS OWN INSPECTION proves him wrong, and he had to double check when I told him to look for a CARB number. I then told him that I have no problem filing a complaint with the state ref's office and the BAR because of this. Joshua then got pissed off and started talking a whole bunch of nonsense and talking over me whenever I tried to talk, and so I decided to leave. He then followed me out of the building yelling at me, and eventually came to my window still yelling at me, while I just ignored him, and I pulled out and left. I called my buddy at the state refs office and filed a formal complaint. I also called the BAR and filed another complaint. Enjoy yourself Joshua. You should learn how to do your fucking job because your claim that you were "just doing your job" is bullshit. Take your cars somewhere else. Almost $80 for a smog check and I get fucking hassled by a guy who doesn't know shit. Never coming back. I included a picture of my PERFECTLY LEGAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER. Went in today for the first time for two cars and was met with hostility. My husband has a Turbo Optima with a blow off valve. The owner said our vehicle was going to fail. We told him it has never failed. He kept speaking over us and acted like whatever we would have said didn't matter. He even bet my husband money that it will fail at another place. That they've probably been doing it wrong. He said he would still smog my car. For why? How can I trust you? He claimed he was doing us a favor because he could smog us and have us pay allegedly knowing it would fail. That he had failed other cars for their blow off valves. He apologized many times after I called him out for speaking to my husband the way he did. We googled another smog place and passed. Our cars are legal. They should rename this place " Smog & Fog ". I stopped by here on Saturday Sept 7th to get a quote for smog. The main shop was closed but the smog bay on the far right was open. As soon as I got out of my car, I was overwhelmed by the strong wreeking smell of skunk weed pot. While I am not against pot use, I did have my small grandchildren in my car and even they were asking what the strong smell was. I had to lie to them and tell them it was a dead skunk. The only " Need for Weed " employee there was burned out of his mind when I tried to talk to him and his eyes reminded us of Dracula. He was baked !
