Joshua the owner is a gem of a guy. He made me feel comfortable and welcome. He took the time to talk to me about my concerns that were related to my catalytic converter.Two different times theives have tryed to steal it and so there was 2 welds on the pipe where they had tried to cut it off. I was told by the mechanic who had welded it back together that there was a chance that it could affect my ability to smog it. He agreed to take a look at it before he tried to smog it. Anyway, he got the job done, and I will recommend him to anyone and everyone. For the ladies......he is polite and respectful towards women. He listens, and is responsive. I would like to start off by saying this is my first Yelp review and it took me almost an hour to write this review after setting up an account, and then realizing I already have one, then having to reset my password, then having to re-write my review because Yelp wouldn't accept my initial review without confirming my email address--so anyone who reads this please be assured I was compelled by the great service I received to write a review after all that BS Yelp requires you to do in order to write a review. I was intending to go to a different smog shop 1 minute East of Banning Smog Check. I called the prior Saturday to verify if they would be open on President's Day and I was informed they would be open at 9:00 AM. So as I pulled up at 9:27 the parking lot looked full but the shop looked closed. I called the owner of the smog shop whose name is a different City name than the City it actually does business in and he sounded like he rolled out of bed and said he would be opening soon (even tho the sign said 9:00 AM and even tho I was told 9:00 AM two days prior). I decided to leave the prior establishment and head over to Banning Smog Check. Firstly, I was hesitant to take my business there due to the little amount of reviews left on their Yelp page (however, I totally understand given my experience with leaving reviews on Yelp--see above). I was informed by the owner they had just opened which made sense why there wasn't a lot of reviews. Secondly, I appreciate that the name of the business is in the same City it operates in. Thirdly, I was approached by the owner, Joshua, when I arrived and looks can be deceiving, he looks intimidating but he was extremely courteous, professional, and forthright. I think I can speak for most patrons when I see that taking your vehicle to a mechanic for any type of work can be stressful. Customers tend to feel we are being swindled in to paying extra for unnecessary work--I DID NOT FEEL THIS WAY with my experience at Banning Smog Check. The prices are reasonable for the type of service being performed. I was in and out in what seemed like seconds.
