But once we arrived we were told that "the film is not working" and it didn't look good, soon after we was told that we couldn't watch it because it is PG-13, and we are all 13, and we were forced to watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie instead, it was just ruined that trip, but worse of all was when I came across a sign that had Michael playing again later that day, and we were not allowed to watch it, I thought that was unfair, because a lot of people were allowed to watch Michael, when we weren't.

Last month was My first Time back to this Malco Theater since the renovation. I went during matinee…read morewhich was $5.50. That's a reasonable ticket price for me to see a first run. I walked into the screening area. The seats are comfortable enough to have a nice recline to kean back while watching any movie. The surround sound system is great on average as with any Malco theather not including the IMAX screen at the Paradiso. I'm crazy about IMAX's. (read my IMAX review on Paradiso's) Their theather screens give an awesome display with their wide convex design. It's very noticeable if you're sitting in the front rows. The projection is like any other (outside of 3d) but still projecting a Hi Def pic bringing out a great display of Imagery & color. Consession prices I'll say the same thing in any review. I find them to overpriced (except Bartlett 10 & Drive In) I'm just gonna purchase something from Malco's grill along with a beer or wine. Which is just as enjoyable.

So, I'm guessing that these were all/mostly pre-renovation, when they updated to the reclining seats. Other than the prices, I can't see significant problems with this location. The pop/soda is self-serve, speeding up service, though I think the butter used to be and no longer is - would like a rerun to that. The location is in a safe area and the ambiance is comfortable. They could use more concession stand clerks, but I suppose that's a complaint we could level against most places.

Plus, hear from an extraordinary lineup of musicians including Phil Wickham, For King & Country, Brandon Lake, Maverick City Music, and more. Maverick City Music don't sleep on them. I landed here after hearing about the summer series Dancing on Broad, which features instruction in a specific type of dance each saturday night from 6pm to 9pm. The event was a no fuss set up, but provided almost everything one might want while attending this FREE event - including food truck, beer and wine sales, and local vendors selling adorable clothes for women (sorry guys). The only thing one could ask for is more shady spots to stand - it was super hot out when I attended the event (once they add these I will make this a 5 star review!). Despite this, it was a wonderful event that allowed me to connect with fellow Memphians. I left smiling and thankful to live in such a great city! It's in a neighborhood that many locals don't frequent (Broad Ave Art District), but is worth the adventure and appears safe (take normal safety measures - like don't leave your purse on the passenger seat while at the event!). I think the events in this space will simply continue to expand. Free Wifi is also available in the pavilion. It appears to be available for rent for private use.

It was good to see ample security inside and outside. There are parking lots, but they fill quickly. Be mindul of where you can AND can't park, as towing is enforced. Tickets were $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-18, and free for kids under 11. You can purchase online and at the gate, but on site is cash only. Upon entry, the vibrant colors and beautiful clothes really stand out! They had several areas of information highlighting many religious, historical, and current literature about the Indian culture with the event schedule posted after this area. There is an area special made for children. I thought that was nice as keeping children occupied during events can be challenging at times. There are many vendors with meals and desserts for sale with seating readily available. The food smells great, and each booth has the restaurant's name and menu. With plenty to choose from, there are plenty of lines. While several restaurants were well organized taking orders and payment, there were a couple that didn't have the same organization. Pricing depends on what you want and have a taste for. For the time we were there, we watched several groups performing traditional dances and a drum show. There were other vendors selling lovely jewelry, saris and other clothing items, a table doing henna, Bombay salon providing brow services (they're awesome), and other tables advertising Mathnasium, yoga and other services within the community. However, the friendliness seemed to vary from vendor to vendor. While some were very welcoming of patrons, a few left the impression that you were not welcome to their table in particular. But overall, we had a really good time and I recommend checking out this festival. It's great to venture out and learn about different cultures and enjoy what the city has to offer.

Comedy. Theater. Science. Magic. Ballet. A plethora of actives and events. All are really nice. ~Philadanco - awesome dance and theatrical performance. Traditional and native ballet dance. Awesome music and lighting. Great Night Out and a Full House. Beverages-wines-soda and snacks can be purchased as well..! ~Underwater Bubble Show. Sooooo amazing. Thus show is very kid friendly. With beautiful colors. And enormous amounts of bubbles. Big, small, shaped, and smoky. Audience participation was so creative. This show was fun and entertaining. When they return to Buckman we will be back.
