Beautiful venue, ornate details and ample fold down velvet seating. Multiple floors of seats and boxes, staff was friendly and helpful.

This iconic theatre hosts some of the best broadway performances and shows in the mid-south! If you ever have a chance to visit the Orpheum you are in for a real treat!

Wow. I cannot share enough love for the Orpheum. We have seen so many shows here over the last eight years from Wicked and Phantom to Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton to Come From Away, Les Mis, Hadestown, Finding Neverland, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Aladdin to things like Harry Potter with the live orchestra. It's always an amazing time and a true night out when the Orpheum is involved. I used to say "there isn't a bad seat in the house, but there certainly are better seats" and while I mostly still stand by that, we had some atrocious seats in the orchestra section (row C, seat 12) where I could only see 50% of the stage at best. I didn't see Hades (from Hadestown!!!!) until the second act when we asked to move seats..These seats shouldn't even be offered. They're that obstructed. I've sat in the highest seats for shows like Dear Evan Hansen and Les Mis and was truly happy to be there to experience the show. We've sat in the balcony for shows like Phantom, Finding Neverland, and Lion King and were blown away. We've sat in the orchestra for shows like Hamilton, Aladdin, and Hadestown. And I'm so happy we have the Orpheum to bring such beauty to our city. The ushers prove to be some of the sweetest humans time and time again. Very grateful to live in a Memphis where the Orpheum exists!

What a beautiful theatre! First off, I had no idea there were multiple Orpheum Theatre's throughout the county. This was my first visit to an Orpheum and I loved it. The venue was so beautiful. Once you are inside there is a beautiful staircase that leads up to the upper levels. Upon entering, if you walk to the left there is a concession area for drinks. They sell plastic cups if you want to take your drink inside the theatre and these are the only cups allowed inside. You are not allowed to bring water bottles. Bathrooms are located downstairs and there's also another bar.

Just saw Mean Girls last night and yeah the show was good but the theater was breathtaking. It's been very well kept, been around since the late seventies but has the elegance that it reads much older. Only in town until August but plan on seeing anything and everything they showcase until then just to be back in that theater

Got to love this theatre! Saw a comedy show here and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions for a first timer. Highly advise finding the bars at the top floors for a lot less lines.

I love attending shows here. The staff are always so courteous. They greet you and show you to your seat with smile. The chairs are fairly comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. View is great regardless of where you sit. Very simple purchasing of tickets online. Sound system is great. Tonight's show was amazing. I can't wait to visit again.

    Lovely stage view.

For being a Theatrical historical Gem of Memphis. The seating, stage, and sound are excellent. I've been to theaters in the past where the seating was awful & I was barely able to see most of the stage. With the Orpheum that wasn't the case. I had a great view of the performers & sets. The stage was wide enough in it's length and width. That regardless of where you sat everyone in the audience have good detail of the actors stage & set. When it comes to the sound it captures the singers and Orchestra beautifully. I also have to give credit to the Orchestra and sound team they did a wonderful job. If you enjoy their their theatrical season. When it comes to plays. You should also check out their Summer movie lineup which is guaranteed to never disappoint. Like Gone with the Wind Wizard of Oz and many other classics. Whether you are just arriving or looking to grab a beverage or snack during intermission. They have a nice beer and wine selection along with a few snacks to tide you over before hitting downtown's many great restaurants after the show. All I have to say is I will be back to enjoy another play or movie during their theaterical season lineup. Don't let ticket prices discourage you. There's seasons holders who will sell tickets to you at a discount price be sure to look for them on the Orpheum site or elsewhere.

Took my daughter to see the Lion King at the Orpheum this week and was blown away! The production, music performances, and costumes were Broadway-worthy. I appreciated the Orpheum staff for allowing us to keep our phones during the show, constantly reminding the audience to wear our masks at all times, and how they all worked together to get everyone seated before each Act. Bravo! Go check'em out! You won't be disappointed! Cheers!

You never know who you'll see (on stage) at the Orpheum As some of you know, I have been Ushering at the Orpheum for more than 22 years (and loving every minute of it). Well, recently I worked both Saturday shows of The Nutcracker at the Orpheum. I had seen online that our own local Yelper, Kontji Anthony, was going to be performing on Saturday in the role of "Mother Ginger". She did a great job! I reached out to Kontji on Yelp before going to the theatre, to congratulate her. She confessed she was a bit nervous, but you couldn't tell it from her great performance. We exchanged messages back and forth during the day, and I had hoped to catch up with her after the show. Unfortunately, somehow our messages got crossed up and we never hooked up. Oh, well. Regardless, it was so good to see Kontji up on stage at the The Orpheum Theatre in The Nutcracker. What a thrill she must have had! Congrats, dear friend! So happy you got to experience that - before a Sold Out audience (no pressure). Be sure you congratulate her as well.

Beautiful older theatre, this is a great place to see a show. Lots of Broadway shows come through Orpheum, and that's great news for Memphians. Check to see if their package deals suit your budget! The box office is open daily, just enter the main entrance and use rap on the box office window or yell for tix. I saw Arcade Fire here, and the sound was great. There are several drink stations, and plenty of restrooms. Sight lines are great, and my ticket bought day of show, 15th row center, was awesome. Orpheum is a revived jewel in downtown Memphis!

I love visiting the Orpheum! I've been here on several occasions! Saw the Lion King on broadway (which was phenomenal), saw Maze featuring Frankie Beverly in concert last night (which was also phenomenal), and a few other things. It's an awesome theatre to visit. They always have something going on! Parking for $20 right across the street, right next to the backstage exit! It's a great experience overall!

It was our first time visiting this downtown location, so we were excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, our first impression wasn't great. When we walked in, there were two employees at the front ticket desk, both with their heads down on their phones. Neither acknowledged us with a hello, welcome, or even looked up as we entered. We eventually found the bar toward the back. The menu was actually a decent size, offering both food and alcoholic beverages. We ordered the fish and chips, nachos, and a couple of drinks. One small issue was that the bartender never asked what type of meat we wanted on the nachos (pork or chicken), and the menu didn't indicate there was a choice. As for the drinks, they were just okay. Mine tasted more like a Sweet Tart than an actual cocktail and wasn't particularly memorable. Our food was packaged for us to take into the theater, which was convenient. We also noticed a wood-fired oven that I assume is used for their pizzas, which looked promising. The next hiccup came when it was time to have our tickets scanned. There was one older employee handling the line, and the process moved incredibly slowly. Something that should have taken seconds ended up taking close to ten minutes due to the pace of the line. The theater itself was nice. It was spacious, the reclining seats were comfortable, and the sound quality during the movie was very good. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment of the night. The nachos were, honestly, a complete miss--covered in excessive nacho cheese with what tasted like mystery BBQ meat. We each took one bite and threw the rest away because we knew we weren't going to enjoy it. The fish seemed fresh, but it had absolutely no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. The fries, however, were fresh and ended up being the only part of the meal I actually ate. We ended up buying popcorn and candy instead. Overall, the theater itself was comfortable, and the sound quality was great, but nothing about the overall experience really stood out enough to make me want to drive all the way downtown again. With improvements in customer service and food quality, I think this place has potential, but based on this visit, it just wasn't worth the trip for

The museum is very well done and takes you through the history of the Civil Rights Movement in a way that is both educational and powerful. There is so much to read, see, and experience that we spent several hours here and still felt like we could have spent more time. The most moving part of the visit was seeing the Lorraine Motel and standing outside Room 306, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spent his final moments. It is hard to describe the feeling of being there in person. As a teacher and a parent, I especially appreciated how the museum encourages important conversations about history, equality, and justice. The exhibits are thoughtfully put together and tell stories that everyone should hear. I would definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes and giving yourself plenty of time because this is not a place you want to rush through. The experience stays with you long after you leave. The address for the business listing I added is for the 2019 marketplace. Since 2020, like many businesses, the physical market has had to pivot and go virtual to survive. In past years, it's been a great place to shop for holiday and general objets d'art as a local maker space. I've even personally promoted it to my friends for the unique items they offer. Unfortunately, this year's virtualization has not gone well. Orders are not being dispatched on a timely basis. Shipment within ten business days of purchase should be a reasonable expectation. After all, seasonal items are highly "perishable" in terms of gifting value to the giver and to the recipient. Polite, specific inquiries by email receive a canned "busy signal" generic response from MMM rather than a firm ship commitment. MMM's boilerplate response thanks you for patience while it bemoans their small business challenges and ultimately delivering a cold, corporate "we refuse to respond individually" message from the "Monster Market Team". Note the continued impersonal theme in the message delivered. I finally received my item nearly a month after ordering and just a couple of days before Halloween. Due to the timing of delivery, what was to be a Halloween surprise, will now be a Christmas present (and apology). Yelpers don't shop with small businesses to be treated with indifference and disrespect. They seek small businesses out for the personal touch. They can always get attitude at a big box store. And that's where Memphis Monster Market fails to deliver on their small business mantra. Not recommended at this time.
