I recently saw Michael in theater #7 and the experience was really solid. The recliners were super comfortable, and the Dolby Atmos sound mixed with the laser projection made the movie even more enjoyable. There is a huge arcade area at the front of the theater. There are tons of games to play plus a large snack and refreshment area. So far, every movie experience I've had here has been a good one.

I walked into the screening area. The seats are comfortable enough to have a nice recline to kean back while watching any movie. The surround sound system is great on average as with any Malco theather not including the IMAX screen at the Paradiso. I'm crazy about IMAX's. (read my IMAX review on Paradiso's) Their theather screens give an awesome display with their wide convex design. It's very noticeable if you're sitting in the front rows. The projection is like any other (outside of 3d) but still projecting a Hi Def pic bringing out a great display of Imagery & color. Consession prices I'll say the same thing in any review. I find them to overpriced (except Bartlett 10 & Drive In) I'm just gonna purchase something from Malco's grill along with a beer or wine. Which is just as enjoyable.

We went on opening weekend to the biggest movie - one of the most anticipated of the entire year - at prime viewing time and our auditorium was small and honestly, not great. The projector seemed dim, the screen very obviously needed cleaning, and the sound was extremely lacking. (Auditorium 8 at 6:30pm on a Friday night, for reference.) And on top of that the theatre was hotter than hell for no reason other than it seemed AC was not running at all. What a letdown especially because I have been loudly recommending this place to friends and family for a decade. This place still has their points program and clean bathrooms and their popcorn was delicious but everything else was such a bummer. And to add insult to injury, they switched from Coca-Cola to Pepsi. *sigh* I don't know if this is all due to new management or if they're going through a tough time but y'all really need to get it together before you lose more customers.

So, I'm guessing that these were all/mostly pre-renovation, when they updated to the reclining seats. Other than the prices, I can't see significant problems with this location. The pop/soda is self-serve, speeding up service, though I think the butter used to be and no longer is - would like a rerun to that. The location is in a safe area and the ambiance is comfortable. They could use more concession stand clerks, but I suppose that's a complaint we could level against most places.

But when we handed our movie passes, cast member Tiffany held each one up in the air as if inspecting a $20 bill, then called for a manager on her walkie without saying anything. We stood there confused, and when I asked if there was a problem, she said, "We're about to see." We stepped aside so we wouldn't hold up the line and watched other guests be warmly greeted and helped. The manager came, asked a question or two, and told her to check us out, but Tiffany didn't. She continued helping others while we stood there waiting respectfully, not trying to cause a scene, feeling embarrassed as people looked at us, wondering what was going on. It wasn't until my husband spoke up that she finally helped us. The delay wasn't the issue. It was the lack of communication and the way we were made to feel. We were treated with suspicion rather than respect, as though we had done something wrong. Customer service isn't just about selling tickets. It's about treating people with dignity, explaining what's happening, and showing basic kindness. You never know what someone may be going through.
