The sticky rice with a side roasted tomato sauce depending on how you take it. This isn't your typical tomato salsas. This is the best. Any protein goes well with sticky rice and sauce. As for the atmosphere of the place, this is largely Nate Underwood's, as his Harding House name adorns the building. The old bar is now branded Jubilee bar and Quinton, formerly of Bar Continental, handles the cocktail program and does an excellent job. There is live music schedule some of the week and they have Dogwood Acres for soft serve ice cream. All of the business use a farm-to-table model, sourcing everything they can from local business owners. As for Saap Saap, this is a mixture of Lao and Southern BBQ. Clinton is the pit master, and his wood blend is perfect for the chicken. I need to go back and get the ribs. As an added bonus, he knows how to handle the chicken so it is moist and meaty and not dry. And the flavor is wonderful. Amy handles the Lao side of the menu. This night the Lao influence was primarily in the sauces, although I understand they will mix in other dishes when the ingredients are available. Desserts are also on point. Decadent, but not overly sweet. I have had a few really great experiences lately, puncutuated by a few bad. This was one of the best. If you get a chance to get over to Harding House, definitely make the trip.

This visit was a surprisingly disappointing departure from the consistently excellent experiences…read morewe've had at Butcher & Bee over the years. We chose the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and, as we have done on previous visits, ordered the Chef's Special for our party of three. While we were surprised to see the price had increased by $15 per person since our last visit, we expected the same high-quality dining experience that has always made the restaurant a favorite. Unfortunately, the service and pacing fell well short of those expectations. Dinner lasted more than two hours from start to finish, with excessive waits between nearly every course. What should have been an enjoyable celebratory meal became increasingly frustrating as the evening progressed. Our server appeared attentive and engaged with surrounding tables throughout the night, yet we frequently felt overlooked. There were extended periods where we were unable to get refills or assistance, leaving us feeling forgotten and, quite literally, thirsty. By the end of the evening, we had to request that the "sweet treat" be packaged to go, and the response from our server came across as irritated rather than accommodating. This was our first time being seated on the outdoor patio, but regardless of seating location, the level of service should be consistent throughout the restaurant. In the end, we spent well over $300 and left feeling frustrated, exhausted, and disappointed rather than celebrated. For a restaurant that has built a reputation on exceptional food, hospitality, and attention to detail, this experience missed the mark. Significant price increases are easier to accept when they are accompanied by an equally elevated dining experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this visit, and it has left us questioning whether we will return in the future.

The price per bite is phenomenal, and not to mention the ambiance is astounding (shoutout to their renovation). My only qualm with this restaurant is that it ruined the price per bite at every other restaurant in Nashville-- there is truly nowhere else you can get such an amazing experience for a reasonable price. An East Nashville gem, and a personal favorite-- I will never stop recommending this restaurant to friends and family, and I will always come for special events!

We enjoyed it so much that we went the next day before we left! The food is priced very fairly and the menu has a really fun twist where there isn't the traditional appetizer, main, dessert. Everything is meant to be shared and you're encouraged to try new dishes and choose from anywhere on the menu. I have a peanut allergy and they were very accommodating and automatically made any necessary adjustments to dishes we ordered. We tried a couple different drinks and they were all very good and fairly priced. We went on weekend nights and only had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated indoors, which was to be expected as this place was packed with people and we would have been willing to wait longer if needed. We had two different servers, I unfortunately can't remember our first one's name but she was the one with stretched ears that normally wears her hair up. She was great and very thorough in explaining how the menu worked. The second night we had Lexi and she was super sweet. They were both fantastic and I hope to be seated with either one of them when we eventually go back!
