The piano player at this bar is phenomenal! He plays Tuesday-Saturday 8pm-11pm. The bar itself is warm and inviting and feels like your stepping back into a different time. Very chill bar, friendly bartenders, and a mixed crowd of patrons. Was looking to check out a new bar downtown and thought I'd give this one a try since it is a piano bar. There was no live piano playing the night we went, but there was live music- some guitar player covering top 40 hits haha. The overall essence is chill, nothing fancy. I tried about 3 cocktails, but they were all not up to par. They were very overbearing on the alcohol, very blah and over priced! Horrendous service. Was in town visiting with some of my employees. Celebrating a great sales month and decided to visit this "mixology" bar based on reviews. The Uber driver asked why there. I now know why he was asking. He actually recommended another bar. Upon waking in, we could not get service at our table. We were summoned to the bar by the bartender. Weird. He was busy talking with friends he informed us after we waited for 10 min ay the bar standing. (5 of us) When he finally waited on us, we complained politely. His response...... Are you drunk, because you look over served. We hadn't even had a drink!!!! Visit Soho. Much better place. Service was outstanding. Drinks were ok, but the ambiance and the service made it worth visiting again. read more

This is more of a 3.5 star review as they were definitely above average where it counts (quality of drinks and pricing), but there were a couple of things that, to be honest, should not have happened and, hopefully they are not the norm. Being my first time in San Antonio and my first night, I wanted a good night cap near my hotel. So, it was about 11:30p and I walked in and there was some live music, but the act wasn't terrible, so that was no big deal for me. The problem was when he, for $20 (and I COMPLETELY get it; that is a big tip for a one-man gig) let a patron go Karaoke as he played. Now, she was downright terrible & painful to listen to...and the rest of the bar had looks of the same feelings. I have never been to a place with a live singer, who for any amount of money let a patron do that...but I figured it was a one off for a big tip, so for the moment I let it go, somewhat. I took a spot at the bar and waited...and waited...and waited...and waited (15min later) for one of the two (!!!) bartenders to come take my order. The bar itself had maybe 8-9 people at it and the establishment had 20+/- total. But one of the bartenders was more focused on (what seemed to be) a regular ordering bottled beer and lemon drop drinks. I am not a snob, or one who looks down on anyone ordering that (you do you), but if (IF) that was a regular and what he normally orders, then as a bartender you take care of the folks who walked in who may order an Old Fashioned and you can charge $12-14 for...then go back to the regular (who will be there longer than a tourist and come back next week). And it left his partner back behind the bar overwhelmed serving drinks for the other 18+/- people in the establishment. I was not the only one near me who noticed this. The guy who came in after me and a guy who was there before me and needed another noticed, too. Once the other bartender had a second, he got me my drink. He made it well. Smooth and flavorful (tasted every ingredient). Saved the experience if you ask me (and the fact he guy playing the music didn't let anyone else borrow his mic). I do not want to sound like I am hating on Bar 414, but later in my trip I went to Bar 1919 and Esquire, and those were head and shoulders above because if for nothing else, they treated every customer fairly, evenly, and well. Bar 414 is a decent spot with good drinks and location. Give it a try, if nothing else. read more

Stopped by this hotel bar and was struck by the Speak easy decor and vibe ( very cool ) they do have live music and back ground music drink prices were reasonable and service was fast was a good way to relax after the day and start getting ready for the night read more

Great hidden bar attatched to the Sheraton Hotel. It feels like you are hidden in a time capsule of 1920's class and libations. The atmosphere is very cozy and elegant. The drinks are phenomenal! Very fresh and boozy drinks that give you a taste of flavor and liquor. A tad bit pricy, but you get what you pay for... quality. I highly recommend for a date night, or to go out with a group! read more

Attended a Dream Week event here last night, although I have never been there before I thought it would be a chance to experience a new place. The bar itself was cozy, dark and had an overall warm atmosphere. Just for attending I received 2 drink tickets which was not bad since they were free. The only complaint was that it literally took 40 minutes to receive those two drinks. There were only 2 bartenders and really not that many people, I understand these are fancy cocktails, but there has to be a better way to take orders and get drinks out quickly. Not to mention me and a few others surrounding the bar were constantly overlooked after the bartender saw us waiting there. Bartenders seemed a bit irritated, I was planning on staying after the event ended, but if you are unable to handle a small crowd and take 10-15 minutes to make 2 cocktails than forget it. I was looking for a piano bar to go to and looked on yelp. Other places popped up but this bar really caught my eye. I looked at the reviews and had to go check it out. After seeing this place for myself it is exactly what I was looking for. the bartenders are probably the best in town. I ordered a few Vesper Martinis which I have not been able to get any bar I have been to in San Antonio, and it was amazing. If you are looking for a low key place to relax and get a few drink with some good music, this is the bar for you. I will most certainly be returning. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I came here with a roommate while we had time to kill waiting for a reservation down the street. I'm staying at the hotel for 4 nights and this is a cool looking, old school bar in the lobby. The first night, I had a good experience and enjoyed the drinks. The second night, the younger, smaller bartender forgot my drink order twice! Not sure if he was trying to give me a hard time or if he was just that dense. Either way, I felt a little attitude being thrown my way and I will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone visiting San Antonio.
