Felt so lucky to find this place. Not too far from the Vatican Museums, this place was perfect for grabbing a quick (and cheap) breakfast and lunch. For €1.50 you can get an espresso and pastry, for €3 you can get a panini (which went for €8 just down the street!), and little pizza-like pastries for €1 (though you'll need two to fill you up).
We got a panini, a cappuccino, and a couple of the little pizza-like pastries. The paninis are arrayed in a case where you can choose one of the many variations available (plenty of vegetarian ones!). Once you choose one, they take it out and cook it on the press. My boyfriend got a prosciutto, cheese, tomato, and arugula one and was very satisfied. I got the mini pizza-like pastries (one zucchini and cheese and one tomato sauce an cheese), and they heated those on the press as well. They had a nice crunchy crust, and I appreciated the amount of thin zucchini slices on the zucchini one. The cappuccino was well made, not too bitter but not too milky.
Service was quick with few pleasantries, but that's pretty normal in Italy. They did speak enough English to help us, and didn't seem to mind that we were tourists.
Overall, would recommend!! read more
