It's not cheap, but the prices are the same as offered at the parent restaurants (avec and avec river north), with food coming out of the same kitchen as avec river north! I have come to this place a few times and have enjoyed it for a group setting . I went with a girlfriend tonight , and besides from it being so loud - we waited on silverware and plates with food waiting to be eaten for 10 minutes . When we asked for silverware (nicely) the server interrupted me and said "I know." Another waiter had to take our order for more food because ours went missing. I definitely did not realize how it's right next to an apartment complex's rooftop pool, but it was slightly entertaining to people watch. We ordered delicious cocktails- side to side was delicious. We wanted some shareable plates as well to snack on, but there really wasn't anything appetizing to munch on from the descriptions. We asked the waitress, and she recommended the ham plate (when we asked for a cheese plate) and mushrooms. The ham plate was definitely not what we were expecting- it was mostly bread and whipped ricotta. The mushrooms were much better and tasty but small portion. Beautiful views and great for visitors that want pics, but the food is not comparable to the normal Avec, which I love. Some items are similar, but it was explained they don't have the same oven on the roof so they can't make some of their classics dishes. Service was sub par. Was going to the bar on the rooftop and it is located on top of another building. The big security guard at the front desk was very rude and intimidated my girlfriend and I from even going to our reservation on the roof, so we left and went somewhere else. Came for girls night and drinks. I had the daiquiri for my drink. It was really good. I had the shrimp plate which was also good and had a refreshing taste. Reminded me very much of the shrimp aioli tapas in a Spanish tapa restaurant. The menu is built to be shareable, so something to keep in mind if you order food. Our server was nice and had a lot of patience. We were greeted by the owner/managers? They were also very nice. My only drawback is that if you are seated along the perimeter, your chair is a stool. Unfortunately the primary server was so inattentive to us that we left after a starter and two small plates to go somewhere else. We ordered the starter of seeded cracker board with three types of dips (awesome!). Five minutes later we got a little bowl of just the crackers. I tried at least six times to get his attention and finally he recognized we needed something, then blamed the kitchen. He finally took our next order then disappeared. It wasn't that busy. We finally said we were done and it took another five minutes to get the check while he talked to other servers and rolled silverware. When we got the bill the side of crackers, AND the cracker board were billed. Sadly, the person who looked like the manager walked by a couple of times, as did the host, and neither asked how we were doing. Don't waste your time. There are so many better rooftop restaurants with great food in the area.I had a team happy hour/dinner which was not that great. It should have been a red flag when the event coordinator couldn't respond to email or phone calls but I decided to keep our reservation anyway. The food was so so and they were bringing small amounts out slowly. It was so bad that my team ended up leaving early to go get drinks and dinner somewhere else. Canceled my reservation just hours before without explanation, so I had to scramble last minute to find an alternative! Poor form.

We had heard mixed reviews of this bar but decided to try it. Stay away. The server brought out a drink my wife didn't want and tried to charge us for it. Then without warning and literally 2 minutes after our round cocktails arrived we were told by some random security guard that we had to finish them and leave. She told us the "bar will get fined $30,000 because their outdoor permit time is up". Uhh, sure, let us chug down my $30 glass of reposado. Not a word of warning of the time until the drinks were on the table. This place is almost like a satire and will be out of business inside of a year. Plenty of other options out there. read more

I made reservations to go back with a friend and we were 1 minute passed our reservation window and they acted like this was the most "exclusive" place In town and they "would see" if my table was still available. They put on this whole exclusive weird act and "called the rooftop" to "make arrangements" for us. When we got upstairs there were about 10 empty tables. Not good enough food/drink to act that pretentious, ruined the vibe. Plus if my reservation for the table is capped at 1hr 45 min, If I'm 1 min late just make me leave after 1hr 44 min.
