Have had this spot on my list for a while now and glad to have had time to check it out this weekend. Dined in for an early dinner and was able to get seated without a reservation. Nice cozy restaurant with subtle lighting. We started with the focaccia and were blown away by how crispy the outside was with maintaining a soft and airy inside. Served with olive oil and balsamic, it was a great portion for the price we paid. For entrees, we went with the pesto Genovese pasta and it was such a good choice. I've never had pesto pasta taste so creamy. The noodles were chewy yet not too firm and gummy. We also ordered the diavola pizza and the truffle really stood out to me. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with helping us decide on our dishes. I would highly recommend checking Eduardo's out. read more

Unfortunate. Start to finish. Had a 5:30 reservation. entered to a mostly empty restaurant and Zeus became both our waiter and the bartender for the entire restaurant. After placing our full order (drinks, appetizers, salads, main dishes), we waited for more than 30 minutes with empty drink glasses and no check-in to update us. Just as we were discussing whether we should flag our waiter down all of our main dishes arrived. Confused, we asked what happened to the rest of our order. This caused our waiter to pop out from behind the bar, quickly direct the return of our main dishes to the kitchen, and explain that our order must have been disrupted by a system outage. He disappeared. Our drinks remained empty. Several minutes later, warm and wilted salads arrived along with burned and crunchy focaccia. Having had the focaccia dozens of times before, we all lamented that we'd waited so long for old bread that crumbled into charred rubble as we tried to dip it in the olive oil. Our efforts to gently request a fresh order resulted in what felt like the same bread reheated further which made it even more inedible. It really was like yesterday's bread was put in a toaster oven. When we expressed our continued disappointment (again trying to do so gently), the waiter explained that the "general manager" was working in the kitchen and, thus, it's impossible that our bread is imperfect and we felt immediately scolded to the point where we all just looked down and waited for him to head back to the bar and leave us alone with our burnt and overheated food. We accepted the burnt food and apologized for questioning his expertise. He smiled and indicated he would remove the charge from our bill. He disappeared. Our drinks remained empty. Our main dishes returned. They were very warm. But, the kind of warm that signals they've been sitting in a warmer. The pasta was congealed with chewy and dry tops of the exposed meatballs on top. The pizza was floppy in the middle and the crust was crunchy and chewy. We felt too awkward to complain. And, unfortunately, we made our situation worse by trying to be helpful. One of us popped up to carry our empty glasses to the bar, in hopes of quick refills (of water or soda). This well-intended effort was met with flamboyant disappointment, including grand chest-clutching gestures looking horrified that we'd assumed this was possible. We felt scolded and silly and quickly returned empty handed to our table. We waited for our new drinks in new glasses to be poured. They arrived without a word spoken. We again apologized for overstepping. Silence continued. keep in mind the entire restaurant had only 5 other people other than our group at this time. We stopped eating. We discussed how to make our exit without provoking further passive-aggressive scolding. if we knew the total we agreed we would've left it in cash on the table and ran off, but we didn't really remember how much each item cost. We scooted our nearly full pizza to the edge of the table and stacked up our mostly full dishes. We waited. We saw an opportunity to ask for the bill when the hostess was lighting candles and rearranging empty chairs and tables. She nodded when we asked for the check, but kept doing her chores and never actually made eye contact. Eventually, our waiter again emerged from the bar. Seeing most of our food still on the table, he didn't question it. He just gave us the bill (with the full charge for the burnt focaccia included) and wished us a "safe" night in a passive aggressive and loud tone. Once outside, we all agreed. It wasn't the ordering snafu that ruined the experience. It wasn't even the abnormally poor quality of our entire meal. It was the feeling that we spent the entire time apologizing for expecting better. Truly -- we felt awkward and ostracized by the waitstaff for merely asking for drink refills and wanting our appetizers to arrive before our main dishes. We are people-pleasers who clearly pleased no one during this ordeal. If anyone at Eduardo's spoke an apology to us, we never heard it. If anyone cared whether we enjoyed our meal, we saw zero evidence of it. After years of making Eduardo's a highlight of our family trips to Chicago, we've officially eaten our last meal there. I don't usually write this long of a review, but somehow I felt the need to memorialize this to prevent Zeus from ruining anyone else's experience. Chicago has SO many good Italian restaurants, we'll try another and find a waiter that doesn't make us feel awful for wanting to eat salads before our main dish and wanting drink refills after 30 minutes of waiting in an empty restaurant. This just might be the best Happy Hour in the City for several reasons : 1. ALL wine by the glass is half off (and they pour GENEROUSLY !) 2. A large variety of very delicious bites and shareables are featured* 3. Excellent friendly, knowledgeable, attentive service. Cute, warm, wood-forward decor inside and a nice sidewalk patio as well provide a couple different atmospheres. The regular menu looks very good as well and I'm sure we'll sample some of that soon. We tried the interesting spins on both red and white Sangria and a lovely spinach/arugula with goat cheese salad. While this particular goat cheese did not have a flavor profile I enjoyed, the rest of the salad was delish and generously portioned. I have the feeling they're going to know us by name before the Summer is done ! *the meatballs had a flavorful tangy sauce with 2 nicer dollops of mozzarella. They were well flavored but honestly more bready than meaty. The burrata with cherry tomatoes was stellar and the fried artichoke hearts were equally well done. read more

A hidden gem in Gold Coast! Eduardo's is an intimate and charming restaurant with friendly staff and great food. The space is small so I would recommend a reservation. They do have heated outdoor seating which is nice. I really enjoyed the food here. They had everything that I like! To start we had a spicy Caesar salad and prosciutto stuffed peppers for our mains. We had a hot honey pizza with vodka sauce, and spicy vodka gnocchi. Everything was divine. You also cannot skip dessert here. We ordered the chocolate cake and it was so thick and fudgy. I absolutely love this place. Service is always prompt, the food is delicious and everything is reasonably priced. I absolutely recommend the arancini and the hot honey pizza. Great selection of wines as well. It's not a huge spot so wouldn't recommend for large parties but it's perfect for intimate gatherings. The decor and lighting are also nice and dim but not too dim. Had a chance to visit again recently, and Eduardo's was every bit as good as I remembered! With charming decor and a cozy vibe, this is a great spot for any occasion. Our server was very professional and friendly throughout the meal. They now have an excellent happy hour on weekdays, so don't miss out on those drink and appetizer deals! To start, we ordered the arancini and peperoni piccante. The arancini were extra crispy and cheesy- absolutely nothing not to like. However, the stuffed peppers were an absolute flavor bomb of rich meatiness, spice, and just a little sweetness from a balsamic sauce. Definitely a must order. For mains, we ordered the pappardelle, spicy vodka gnocchi, and the paccheri pomodoro with meatballs with a side of focaccia. All were outstanding, but the meatballs in particular were extremely tender and well cooked. The pomodoro sauce was extremely flavorful and I really liked the wide noodles. A heads up that the gnocchi is not very spicy, but it's rich, indulgent, and delicious nonetheless. The focaccia is still among my favorites that I've ever had. Another great experience all around! We stopped in for an early dinner on a snowy evening. It was quiet at first and was packed by the time we left. The interior is dark and cozy. The decor is eclectic and the big windows make the dining room feel larger. The dark varnished wood created a cool vibe. Our wine was ice cold and delicious. We started with the Arancini that was crunchy on the outside and rich and creamy on the inside. My Gnocchi was incredibly light and fluffy. I asked for a simple sauce with spinach and it was perfect. Absolutely terrible service and management. We had a reservation for 7:45 PM and arrived slightly early. The hostess told us no tables were available yet and asked us to wait. Literally right after that, a group of three walk-ins with no reservation walked through the door, and the hostess seated them immediately. When we politely asked the manager how that was possible, she said oh there wasn't a table available when I checked for you. Then she was incredibly dismissive, and simply said 'sorry, we're busy, I need to get back,' and walked away. A reservation means absolutely nothing here, and the management clearly doesn't care about their guests. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

My luck finally ran out. 9 times of 10, food I order online is done before the promised time. I showed up about 10 minutes before the promised time and was still told it would be 20 more minutes. I ordered their Herb & Foccacia and two pizzas. The Herb & Focaccia was delicious. It came with olive oil to dip the bread but, overall a very simple flavorful dish. We went with their Margherita pizza and their Miele & Fig. I've definitely had better Margherita. It such a plan pizza that should be hard to mess up. My biggest issue was with the crust. It wasn't cooked long enough, it was more on the chewy side and not crispy enough. It was my first time trying Fig on a pizza. It was supposed to come with marinara sauce, honey goat cheese, mozzarella, dried figs, cayenne infused honey, arugula, although I mine was missing the arugula and I didn't see any honey or tasted anything cayenne on my pizza. Despite it missing those two key ingredients, the pizza was still damn delicious. It definitely changed my entire experience with this place. The goat cheese went perfect with the sweetness from the fig. The only thing it was missing was a kick from the cayenne infused honey. Will definitely be returning to try this pizza again. read more
