    Chicken parm

Casual restaurant with a full bar and some TVs. There's 3 seating areas, main dining room, bar and high top tables. They are always busy even on weekdays. The food was amazing! I had Gigi's parpadelle and it came with a pesto cream sauce and large shrimp. I also tried their chicken parm which was such a large portion. The fried calamari appetizer was really small though I wish they gave more on the plate. Did not come with bread but you can ask for it.

Really great dinner here yesterday. Our waitress was very nice. Food was delicious. The salmon and steak were amazing. The grilled pork chop is HUGE! And super delicious. rack of lamb was great too. Good apps! I recommend the rice balls!

From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Our server was attentive and professional, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and quietly classy--ideal for a relaxed lunch and conversation. I started with the Candy Roaster Squash & Coconut Soup, a vegan dish with a warm, sweet, and hearty flavor profile. It was absolutely perfect on a cold winter day. For my entrée, I ordered the Brewer's Burger with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, rosemary aioli, and a side of frites. The flavors came together beautifully--salty, sweet, and savory notes all working in harmony. Truly a dance in your mouth. One additional detail worth noting: the gender-neutral accessible restroom was spotless and had a very pleasant odor. It was top-notch, just like everything else about this restaurant. I would absolutely return.

The Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Quesadilla had solid heat, melted pepper jack, pickles for snap, and a ranch drizzle that kept it balanced. The Chicken Fried Rice was probably the most amazing fried rice I have had in my entire life. Asahi roll was super fresh and beautifully presented. By no exaggeration it's the worst sushi I've had the experience of eating. My group ordered a ramen, a sushi platter, and a sashimi platter. To start with a positive, the tonkotsu ramen was tasty and it had a nice balance of flavors. Now, I'm not sure if maybe it was just a bad day but the texture of the tuna was like mushy, grainy gel. The salmon didn't fare much better as it had an uncomfortably soft and mushy mouth feel. In addition, the sushi rice was on the warm side. The most disappointing though was the flavor, totally absent and none of the sushi had the slight savory/umami taste that I've come to expect in good fish. (Sushi making side note: preparing the fish usually involves a brine that enhances the taste and texture of the meat. My guess is that maybe this step was skipped, but I honestly have no clue what they did to that fish) When my group left, we all had to debrief about how bizarre the sushi was. I don't want to be mean spirited in any way, our server was very attentive and the manager/owner also checked in with us while we dined. I just cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone from my own experience. Atmosphere & Staff: 4.5/5 Ramen: 3.5/5 Sushi: 1/5 Sashimi: 0/5

The space has a warm and modern feel. On the food side, I enjoyed a beet salad. The dish was beautifully presented with a generous portion of beets underneath a tower of greens, topped with a fried goat cheese cake. Delicious! For cocktails, I started with "The Perfect Pairing" - a seasonal whiskey cocktail with Widow Jane applewood rye, Aperol, spicy pear liqueur, bitters, and muddled orange. I really enjoyed this sturdy cocktail. I'm not much of a dessert cocktail person, but Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is my flavor, so I indulged with mixology ace Giovanni's "Mint Chocolate Martini." Pumping up the vanilla vodka, creme de menthe and another liqueur was mint chocolate ice cream. Other guests were raving about the espresso martinis (that use freshly brewed espresso right off the machine). It's safe to say that dessert cocktails are a strong suit at Providence Bar! Chatting with owner Eric, I learned that the patio has a retractable roof which will be opening up with warmer weather close at hand. They also hold special events (wine and food pairings, cigar nights, mixology classes). With great food, cocktails, and service - Providence Bar is highly recommended. I look forward to returning soon.

The host provided us with our menus upon each of us sitting in our chair, and we thought we were in for a nice customer experience. Upon being seated, we waited about 10 minutes to get bread and water, and then another 10 minutes after that for someone to take our drink order...and then the bar was backed up, so we did not get a drink in hand until about 30 minutes in. You would think that if it took that long to get drinks, you might want to put the appetizer order in when we ordered the drinks. This did not happen. We did not put our food order in until about 45-60 minutes. The apps we ordered were very good. The entrees were good as well, although upon ordering filet mignon medium rare, the meat was severely undercooked (essentially raw and jiggling). We had to request the order be heated to the correct temperature, which our waiter did without hesitation. Unfortunately, as we waited for this to occur the rest of our meals waited to be consumed. We then ordered our coffees/desserts - only 2. Our coffees came out within about 10 minutes, which we finished in another 10 minutes. Dessert did not hit our table for about 25 minutes. We had a 6pm reservation for 3 people. The entire meal took 2.5 hours to compete. We only ordered a total of 3 alcoholic beverages, 3 apps, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. From my perspective, the restaurant did not staff an adequate number of wait staff for the volume of customers. Additionally, there should be a dedicated staff member that can run drinks to tables. Even the person that filled water glasses and delivered bread was falling behind. She brought out apps plates to our table as we were finishing up our apps and eating out of our bread plates. Not a big deal, but just added to the underperforming service. Again, food quality was excellent, but the restaurant did not nail a great service experience on this night. The good news is that hopefully they can correct this for the future.

The roasted brussel sprouts are caramelized and crispy and loaded with bacon. I loved their crispy chicken wings with sweet chili sauce, which hit the perfect sweet heat combo. The French onion soup was perfection, probably my favorite of the night, with rich savory broth that truly warmed up my cold January night. The ahi tuna bites were fresh, light, and zesty. And not something you see often at a gastropub! When I saw disco fries on the menu, you know this Jersey girl had to get some and let me tell you, they were everything I hoped for and more. We got the pioneer burger and the big bleu burger. They were charred beautifully yet still so juicy and tender. The onion rings they came with were delicious and crispy! The waffles with ice cream ended dinner on a sweet note, with ice cream from Zita's topped perfectly on the fluffy golden waffles. This place has great food, great energy, the kindest staff, and the cutest pictures of dogs on the wall to top it all off. If you're visiting new Providence, Harlee's is a must stop!!

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment from the moment we arrived. We were the only people there, yet the floor around our table was dirty with old Goldfish crackers and blueberries. We ordered the banana bread appetizer, an egg tortilla bowl, a western omelet, and two kids' waffles. The banana bread appetizer didn't come out until the rest of our food arrived, and everything was ice cold. The breakfast potatoes tasted old, as if they had been made the day before. While it wasn't ideal, we tried to be understanding since it was a holiday and the staff may have been overwhelmed. The highlight of the meal was the fresh-squeezed orange juice that we enjoyed with our BYOB champagne. However, no one checked on our table during the meal, and I eventually had to stop someone just to ask for the check. When reviewing the bill, I realized the kids' waffles seemed more expensive than expected. Sure enough, we had been overcharged for each one. When I politely questioned it, I was told, "That's the price in our register," and the staff gave me a hard time about correcting it. After asking again, they reluctantly handed me cash for the difference. The waitress was rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. Overall, it was such a disappointing experience, especially compared to how much we enjoyed it last year. Sadly, we'll be choosing a different spot for Mother's Day brunch next year.
