This place is absolutely terrible. I had the burger which was made from the lowest grade meat iv ever tasted and the bbq sandwich. The bbq sandwich was like ground up sawdust that fell on to the plate before you take your first bite that was topped with a hot ketchup which they call bbq sauce. Everything came out super fast so you know everything is just sitting in trays in the back. If that wasnt bad enough they add a card fee and charge a dollar for tap water! Id like to see the people giving this place 5 stars because they obviously have mental problems. Shut this mother down! read more

I've never had a "bad meal" from Bar-L. We eat from there atleast twice a week. If you haven't tried the loaded baked potato, I highly recommend it. ( I personally get extra chili and an extra side of the dressing for mine) The people are always friendly and the environment feels very at home. read more

Average barbeque but prices and quantity make it worth it. My wife and I come here every couple months and the food is always consistently good. Fried green tomatoes are good. I've had the pulled pork sandwich and the beef BBQ sandwich, both are good. Wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was delicious. This place has the best prices on food anywhere in the area. Always a good stable place to eat. read more

The barbeque is finely chopped. Be sure to ask for the sauce on the side so you can judge how much sauce you want on your sandwich or plate. The sides are good. The fries are not greasy. The baked potatoes fresh. The brunswick stew is good with a tomato, vinegar base. They have a fried green tomato BLT that is really good! The wait staff is so very friendly. They are suffering from the pandemic and can not locate cooks or wait staff and have had to cut back on their operating hours and that is hurting them and their customers. We all hope that the economic climate will be changing soon and employment opportunities filling up soon to help small businesses like these. read more

This has got to be the worst barbecue I've ever had in my life. The service was OK sweet tea was good but the food was horrible. The barbecue sauce has very strong taste of vinegar and pepper. It just overwhelmed everything and made it really inedible. I will NOT return. My food came out in literally three minutes. It had to of been already cooked and they just dipped in hot grease to warm it up. you could tell everything had been cooked twice and the plate was kind of a mess. (See photo) read more

This place is a complete rip off. I got a pork sandwich plate (comes with fries) and a bowl of stew. My friend got a salad and we both got drinks. Our total was $50. Totally not worth it. It's disgraceful that a place could do this to its customers. The food quality didn't match the price tag and I'll 100% do not recommend this place. read more

Okay barbecue for an okay price. I ordered the $10 barbecue pork plate, which consisted of chopped pork smothered in barbecue sauce, Brunswick stew, two pieces of toast, and your choice of two sides (I got the fried green tomatoes and spicy fries). The pulled pork was chopped up really finely, and tasted almost like ground pork to me. You could taste a little smoke in the meat, which is unfortunately drowned in the tangy barbecue sauce. The sauce was tasty, but overpowered the taste of the meat, a red flag at any barbecue restaurant. The texture for the pulled pork just wasn't there. Brunswick stew isn't my thing, so I can't judge much about it. It had all the right ingredients in there, so I got no problems with it. The fried green tomatoes was probably the best thing on the plate: seasoned nice, crispy on the outside, and sliced thin to get a perfect ratio of tomato to crust. The spicy fries weren't spicy at all, just seasoned similar to how Arby's does with their curly fries. They're also cut straight and thinner than the regular fries, which are crinkle-cut. Service was great, the waitress was plenty attentive and always refilled the water and checked on us. The barbecue needs to be improved a bit more for this to become a neighborhood gem. read more

Ate here one time before was decent but tonight was horrible. Took 45 minutes to have our order taken and the only reason it happened then is I had to physically go to register and tell our waitress we was wanting to order. Food over cooked. Baked potato was cold on arrival getting refills was a small miracle. Sit down time to food received pushing 1.5 hrs. Very disappointed will not be returning. read more

A rare opportunity to take my BBQ lovin' husband to lunch on a weekday and we happened into this restaurant, not knowing what to expect. The place was hoppin'. The server was quick to greet us and patient as we read over all the fixins. We settled on the pork plate with fries and stew and the chili slaw footlong with fries. Well, the stew must have been delish but I will have to find out next time bc the hubby ate it all up like it was momma bear's porridge. But I was busy eating the dog with the slaw that is just like momma made it, but don't tell momma I said that. All that food and it didn't even come close to breaking the bank. This review is of the Cedartown location. They food is poor to mediocre on a good day. They wait staff is lousy. Don't expect a refill unless you can flag a waitress down, and that posesa problem since they stay in the kitchen or outside smoking. Luckily, the drink dispensers, napkins, and condiments are easily accessible beside the restroom. We went on a slow night, there were maybe 3 other occupied booths. It took 45 minutes to receive our food, and then we were missing items. If you want BBQ in Cedartown, you'd be much better off to visit the small establishment on Dpith Main. If you're willing to drive, go to Shane's in Rome or Bilbos in Bremen. I would not rate them one star. read more

Cafeteria feeling sysco food at a good price. Got the fried pickles, they were just slightly too greasy. The pulled pork was chopped into tiny tiny pieces. Not what real pulled pork usually looks like. No good discernable flavor or smoky charred texture in the pork. Only one BBQ sauce option with my pork (red flag at a BBQ place). Sauce was meh.
