The food is amazing and the service is even better. This was my second time here and my family and I had just been kicked out of Linda Marie's steakhouse down the road bc my baby was crying, which in turn had me in tears. We decided to just grab some food from Local Joes but I was still obviously upset. The cashier rang up our food, packed it to go and even carried it to my car while I carried my son. She made what was an awful night a little better and gave me some hope that there are good people in the world. read more

Split a pulled pork meal with wife. The smoked pork was really great. Meat was lean. Just the right amount of bark. Potato salad was outstanding. The stew was ok to me. It had big chunks of potato in it. But to each his own when it comes to stew. Place has a good atmosphere. Employees friendly. Plenty of parking. read more

Love this place! Excellent ribs! The smoked turkey is so juicy and delicious I know BBQ is all about the meats, but don't miss out on the sides. The potato salad, blackeyed peas and greens are just like your Grandma's Sunday dinner fare. We were just passing through saw a Local Joes been to one in Alabama so thought it was a safe bet, au contraire, this place was so dirty, probably why the lights were dimmed, moldy self serve soda fountain, cooks and cashier seen barehanding cooked food, sticky tables and floors. read more

I can not rave about this place enough! I was surprised to see it only has four reviews?! This is by far the best bbq in Atlanta PERIOD! We drove an hour out just to see Cave Spring GA and just so happened to find this little gem of a restaurant. The portions are perfect! The meat is so tender, so flavorful, so juicy! It can't be beat! I will seriously make the drive over and over again just to have more! The staff (and the locals) were beyond friendly and welcoming! I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the turkey... we wanted to eat more but didn't want to look like pigs! And the BANANA PUDDING!!!! Have mercy! So delicious! Really really good BBQ. Most of the sides are good too. They have a really nice sauce. It is not thin and vinegary, as stated in another review. It's a nice balance of sweet and savory. Pork is awesome and the pimento melt is delicious. Get that if you're in a hurry or whenever. That sandwich is amazing and I don't really care for pimento cheese normally. I'm picky about my BBQ. You should eat here. read more

I agree with another rating left here. We stopped at this local joes as I had been to other local joes and enjoyed their bbq . In comparison, this one was just ok. I wasn't fond of the bbq chicken as it was dry and the smoky flavor was a bit too bitter tasting to me. I tried the bbq sauce and it was very watery and didn't have much flavor. The bbq beans were pretty good but I wasn't a fan of what I think was a sour cream based potato salad. The servers were very friendly though. read more

Just can't get over the taste of this barbecue. The smoke in it was awesome and the bark that is mixed in it is the bomb. I'm going to have to say it's close to the best barbecue that I've had in my life, along with a place in Natchez,Ms.... I can't wait until I go back to Gadsden, Alabama because I'm going to come back. p.s. don't forget to add mustard seeds in them beans!!! I do wish they had fries but the BBQ is so good it doesn't really matter. all day long. read more

They have updated their fare on the menu at Local Joe's, and my my was I impressed! I had the Greek salad topped with smoked pulled pork, a side of sweet potato casserole, and a couple cake balls for my aperitif with Southern style Sweet Tea. All I can say is wow, the nice portion of greens and veggies were crisp, presentation was well done, and the pork was moist and tender. The casserole was smooth, topped with a little caramelized crunchy sweet, and the cake balls were decadent. I cannot explain any better about how good the food was, but since I had it for lunch, I wished I had bought enough to have leftovers for dinner as well! Highly, highly recommended! read more

Have Mercy Jesus!! My stop for food and this is the spot. Pulled pork with pimento melt sandwich with a side of Brunswick Stew. Drink was sweet Tea, perfect (diabetic, shhh, this is our secret). I was not thrilled with the vinegar bbq sauce, the baked beans were horrible. I live in Chattanooga and we do sweet brown sugar baked beans and a sweet tangy bbq sauce. I do not like this carolina bbq sauce with vinegar. read more

This is probably the best BBQ in NWGA, they are my go to place! They are affordable and have amazing service. They have a at home atmosphere where everyone is welcome. They are super involved in the local community and is not unusual to become a regular after your first visit. My favorite is the LG pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese for my side with their amazing southern sweet tea. read more

We were quite disappointed with this location as we have visited the others in Alabama. We stopped by Cave Springs to hit the antique stores. Ordered the pork plates with sides. They do not offer fries or onion rings which was very odd also no regular or large sandwich options and only had vinegar slaw when the other locations offer vinegar and Mayo slaw. The meat was a bit bland and lacked the smoky flavor we have come to expect at the other locations. The sauce was thin and watery and they didn't have any sauce provided on the tables. Our interaction with the staff was good. The young lady that brought our food out was polite and helpful. Overall this particular location was just OK at best. read more

Best BBQ for miles...the smoked turkey breast is so moist. The ribs are fall off the bone tender. Pulled pork sandwich is juicy and piled high. You have to try their potato salad and their homemade cake balls. Tuesday's is the roast beef platter yum. The service is great and the people are even better. Very friendly. read more

A friend recommended the bbq pimento melt and so I had to try it. The best I've had!! Very good combination! My husband had the brisket and he said it was some of the best he had ever had! This isn't your typical sampler you share between two people. This is easily enough food for four or five people. The pictures honestly don't do it justice. Let's talk about the meats. The brisket was everything you want. Juicy, tender, perfect fat-to-meat ratio, and the bark was excellent. Same with the ribs -- tender but still holding together when you pick them up. No sauce needed at all. The pulled pork... I don't say this lightly... this is the best pulled pork I've ever had. It melts in your mouth and is packed with flavor. It actually made me wonder how good their pulled pork sandwich must be. The sausage surprised me. I usually get tired of sausage quickly, but this one had a unique flavor and was one of the best I've had. The chicken was also tender, juicy, and well seasoned. Now the sides... Cheesy grits were extremely flavorful and easily compete with some of the best I've had. Mac and cheese is simple, homemade, and done right. The green beans were some of the best I've ever had -- not sure what they're doing, but it works. Potato salad was excellent, baked beans were sweet and spot on, and even the Brunswick stew (which I don't usually go for) was solid with a more tomato-forward flavor. Dessert sealed the deal. The banana pudding absolutely lives up to the hype. Every bite has those crushed wafers mixed in, and the texture and flavor are just perfect. One of the best banana puddings I've had anywhere. They also have multiple house sauces (Carolina, Texas-style, Georgia-style), and the Georgia sauce was my favorite. Service was A+. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, even while the place was packed. And yes, it gets PACKED. I got there right when they opened and there was already a line. They do have extra seating outside, but if you don't get there early, be prepared to wait or take it to go. Parking, though, is actually not an issue. There's parking across the street, some on the side, and a large dirt lot in the back where most people were parking. Even with how busy it gets, there's plenty of space if you know where to look. I honestly can't believe a place this good is tucked away in northwest Georgia. This is one of those true hidden gems... but the locals clearly already know. This ride was 100% worth it. This is easily top two barbecue spots I've had in Georgia... and it might be pushing for that number one spot.

Everybody LOVED the food! The ribs are consistently tender and full of smoked flavor. You can count on their food tasting and smelling as though the cook was inspired by Edesia herself ; ).
