Let's start with the drinks were amazingly amazing. We got there around 8ish and there were a few people present but it was filling up fast. So if you don't have a rezy I would suggest getting there at opening. I was hoping to see the DJ as they appear to have a good nightly line up but they were having a private party that night on the other side so the the DJ was only heard when the private room door opened. Otherwise they had a good Deep House mix going in the background. I forgot they the bartenders name, but he was attentive and whipped up some good ones. I started off with a Classic Gibson. You can go wrong here, but he made it perfectly balanced with the onion juice. I also added some spicy Blue Cheese Olives on the side which were unique and tasty. My guest had the fun drinks; Space Moon- the bartender described it as a balanced PB&J. It was just that!! Bourbon with a hint of sweet with some bitter from the Campari on the back end. Then topped off with a little PB&J cookie. The second drink was some Peach drink- I forgot the name- but it was also a whiskey drink topped with a peach gummy candy. Overall: 4.5/5 [dine in] We came on a Friday night and were lucky to get a walk in. They have valet parking in front and self parking in the back. After checking in outside, they take you up via an elevator. The inside is beautiful and I can see why people say it feels like a jewel box in the sky. The vibes are elevated and everything was very picturesque. We were seated at the bar on the outside end near the DJ which worked out great since I think it would have been too loud on the other end. Both cocktails we ordered were super clarified and even the ice was clarified and completely clear. Clean taste and beautiful presentation. My only feedback is that the liquid volume felt a bit low. The glass is smaller than usual with a large ice block in the middle so you can finish the drink pretty quickly. Colada Eclipse ($19): I loved this one. The ube flavor came through really well without being overwhelming. Samurai Supernova ($21): This is the matcha mezcal cocktail with a more muted flavor profile. We had a reservation and were still seated in an overflow area while multiple tables in the main dining room sat open. We ordered drinks, and after they were brought out, no one ever came back to take our food order. Meanwhile, tables around us were fully serviced, while staff didn't even look in our direction. We waited over an hour for our table to be "ready." No one checked on us or gave updates--we had to track someone down ourselves, only to be met with an annoyed, dismissive attitude. Additionally, a manager approached us with a snarky, hostile comment about taking a photo with flash. It was a birthday dinner--of course we wanted to take a picture! Instead of being accommodating, the interaction just added to how unwelcome we already felt. After finally being seated, the horrible service continued. Our waitress attended to the table next to us multiple times and never once came back to check on us. After waiting that long just to be ignored again, we left and went to another restaurant nearby and had a significantly better experience. What's most concerning is that many reviews describe this exact same experience, while others claim good service. That level of inconsistency makes it hard not to feel like the restaurant is profiling guests and deciding who gets attention and who gets overlooked. We were also the only Latinas there, which makes the inconsistency even more uncomfortable and hard to ignore. Unwelcoming, rude, and not worth your time. It's clear this establishment wants to give off the impression of a high-end restaurant, but part of that experience is also providing the customer with decent service. Drinks were mid at best. My fiancée made reservations for 9:45 and we arrived around 9:40, unfortunately we had to wait outside in the freezing cold to be let on the elevator until our table was available. When we were let upstairs we were greeted by the hostess who offered us a mango Jell-O shots. When we were seated we were impressed with how cute the place is but very small and intimate. I ordered the Morning Dew which is a mezcal cocktail and a spicy margarita. Both drinks were ok. I prefer a stronger drink and both were not very strong. Gorgeous bar, great drinks, and great service. However, the music is too loud and food was a bit hit or miss. Favorite drinks were the Milky Way and the Cosmos. Canchanchara was also pretty good. Cocktails were overall very solid. For food, our favorites were the oysters, falafel, and the black truffle croque monsieur. The petite lobster rolls and wagyu katsu rolls were only ok. The worst was the wagyu beef tartare which tasted rancid - we had to send it back. We also ordered all three of the desserts - my favorite was the post oak campfire which was like a variation of a smore. The other two desserts were beautiful but tasted only ok. Drifting into the upscale orbit of crafted cocktails at Moon was a stellar experience. The place does offer a short list of food selections, but feel as of now, their specialty is themed named cocktails. Fairly new and located off Post Oak on the second floor, the bar is a hidden gem. Reservations were made to ensure seating and availability. Upon arriving the concierge checks if you have a reservation and takes you on the elevator to the 2nd floor. Once there, the glossy emerald doors welcome you in to an elegant and upscale space. Service: 5/5 The waitress and bartender stopped in to greet us. And they were friendly, attentive and made sure we had water the whole time we were there. Food: 3/5 We had the Wagyu Cheeseburger Sliders - gruyere cheese, tomato, lettuce, brioche bun (and what seemed like a butter pickle) serviced with a handful of fries. For the cost of two sliders ($25) but of course since it's wagyu, you're paying for that. But it lacked flavor, the butter pickle made it taste odd. Wasn't a fan of it and cost was steep. Didn't try any of the other foods, but they have a handful selection of bites. Drinks: 5/5 Milky Way - (the top favorite) Rum, Ube Coconut Rum float, Mango, Vietnamese curry. This was a smooth and flavorful cocktail. Would've stuck to it, but wanted to give other cocktails a try. Lunar Quarter - Gin, Campari, Cocchi Americano rosa, white chocolate astronaut. This had a nice presentation with the pour and astronaut laying on the cube made it feel playful. Think of it as a Negroni, had a bite to it. Cosmos - vodka, cranberry, grapefruit and coconut water sphere. Cosmo with a show, it was good, solid if you want a good cosmo. Espresso Martini - I got to sample this one from a friend and really enjoyed that it was smooth and had all the right flavors in 3 ingredients. Ambiance: 5/5 The place has an opulent and very upscale feel to it. Even with it being elegant, it feels cozy and welcoming because the staff help make it inviting. Dress code is business casual though I did see some people in casual clothes. I will return to try some additional drinks and maybe some food. I read a review where it indicated they got a welcome bite, not sure how that works, but we didn't get anything upon arrival. Truly a great night out. Located above Tavola is this very nice speakeasy. Upon arrival there's valet ($5) to take your car and a doorman to confirm your reservation and let you up. After exiting the elevator you are greeted by a host that also offered a free Jell-O shot before entry. The aesthetic is very nice with dim lighting and smooth music to set the mood. We ordered 2 drinks each and desert($88). This is a new goto on my list for a secret intimate venue. read more

Maybe it's the velvet walls? Maybe it's the moody atmosphere? Bar moon is a new favorite of mine! The atmosphere is stunning--elevated but still warm and welcoming. I tried both the dirty martini and the espresso martini, and they were perfect. The food was just as impressive. The Black Truffle Croque Monsieur was unbelievably good. The seafood platter was fresh and generous, and the Pommes Dauphines were another favorite. This was, without exaggeration, one of the most disrespectful and uncomfortable dining experiences I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never written a review, but after seeing similar experiences from others, I felt the need to warn people. We made a reservation for my sister's birthday and were placed in a back overflow area until a table became available. A waitress brought our drinks (which weren't good), and then we were completely ignored for an entire hour: no one checked on us, took our order, or even acknowledged us. Meanwhile, staff and the manager repeatedly attended to every table around us while deliberately overlooking ours. It felt cold, dismissive, and honestly degrading. After waiting an hour, I had to go up to a waitress myself to ask about our table. We were finally moved, but the attitude we received was just as unwelcoming. Once seated, the same pattern continued and we were ignored again while the table next to us received attentive service. The only time the manager spoke to us was to tell us to "limit the flash" on one photo, said while walking away without giving us a chance to respond or voice our concerns. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else because the environment was so clearly unwelcoming. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it's hard to ignore the fact that we were the only Latinas there and the only table being consistently overlooked. I encourage you to read the reviews on Yelp, Google, and OpenDoor, all of them mention instances of minorities feeling unwelcome here. There are far better cocktail bars in Houston that actually value their customers. What should have been a special birthday dinner turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. The specialty cocktails are a must, specifically the Cosmos and On Stranger Tides. honestly really upset with my experience here. We had reservations here for a few weeks. I was so excited to try it, we had been looking forward to it. It was cute but a waiter never looked our way. We sat in our seats for 30 minutes. Without any service. I'm confused if we didn't look right or what was going on there. Everyone else was served but us. I know I'm a woman of color but I just can't understand why we would not get served... I hope they can figure this out for future guests. I can only hope others don't get treated this way.
