I'd put this in the Houston Elite Pakistani restaurant category. Aga's reigns supreme, while…read moreHimalaya's crazy owner causes a significant decline in their service and even food quality. But what if I don't feel like the Mela like atmosphere at Agas? Or what if I'm tired of heavy masala? I've got two legit options in Sugar Land - DDK and Lasbela. I've only tried them once, but the food was very very good. So was the service. And the ambiance was great, I would be proud to bring my bank clients to this restaurant as it showcases Pakistani culture (not in a tacky way). With Labela, it doesn't feel like you're going to another Pakistani restaurant- it feels like you're going to specifically eat lasbela. They are solidly in my top 3 Pakistani restaurants in Houston. Ehh top 4 let's throw Bundoo khan in there even if it is fake.

They ran out of something that they wanted but they recommended things for us based on the other things we ordered and they also suggested things that would not suit our taste palette. Sort of remind me of Aga's except the food quality is not as diverse and less busy (which may be what someone wants - Aga's parking is awful and it can be a zoo outside the restaurant sometimes). Restaurant is pretty spacious and bigger than I thought. Probably would never have to wait long for a table. My husband got the briyani; tasted pretty good but there was not that much meat. I believe I got the Murgh Bihari Boti and it was a pretty big portion. We also got some naan bread. Overall I would say the food quality/taste is better at Agas but I would definitely try this place out.

We had the family garlic naan I forgot which karahi but the chicken breast with a cream based sauce, mango lassi, chole (chickpeas), lahori fish. It took me this long to go because I kept looking at their prices and couldn't justify, but don't be like me and let it scare you away. The portions are definitely more than enough for 2. They are not stingy with their portion size. Looks like their weekday lunch prices are pretty decent so I'm going to have to go back for that for sure. Pretty much everything we had was great. I will say next time I want to try a more traditional tomato based Karahi. Family size Naan was $10 it's probably like 3 regular naan super fluffy not dense so it's easy to eat. Chole was perfect great flavor all around chickpeas were soft. Mango lassi was good but I think it was too heavy for me so I may pass on it next time and leave more room for food. Not sure what kind of fish they use for the lahori fish but the flavors were great, I feel like it should come with fries and I wish it was another type of fish but otherwise on point. The Karahi was chicken breast, really good flavor if you are introducing someone to Pakistani food,it's cream based so it's milder but still has great flavor. My bill was around $87 and I definitely had leftovers. I suggest not going alone if you are getting off the regular menu and not weekday lunch.

Had to wait a few mins for the ice to melt and then it was absolutely refreshing to gulp it down. Service was on point. Even the owner was making rounds at all tables and assisting servers with bussing food back n forth. Ambiance was calm n tranquil. Plenty of seating inside. Will be back soon.

Great flavor super krispy and they use mahi which was a pleasant surprise Butter chicken 3/10 - it was a little bland and too much tomato not enough cream and spice. The consistency of the sauce was good chicken tender but I wouldn't order it again Beef kabob karahi 10/10 Good rich flavor, hits all the spice notes the sauce is perfectly balanced Khandari garlic naan 10/10 Massive, light, crispy, fluffy and garlicky not dense Plain naan 10/10 They don't have a lot of staff so be patient, but generally they are still pretty quick and efficient.

We made the right choice!! We had known about how good their nihari was and so decided to order that first! We also ordered their famous dhaga kabab and chicken tikka, along with fresh plain naan and puri parathas. Their nihari was served in a steel deep plate and served on a stove on the table to keep it hot! This was the highlight of the experience! They also helped us with our toddler, waving to him, recognizing that i needed the high chair moved and without me even telling them they came to help! Such hospitality, I have not seen in Dallas restaurants! Especially in Pakistani/desi restaurants! The restaurant was packed and busy but every server had a smile on their face! It was really good experience!

The one thing I absolutely loved was the chai. The service was disappointing. Despite having around seven servers on the floor, it was difficult to get anyone's attention. We repeatedly had to flag someone down for anything we needed, and no one checked in to ask how the food was or whether we needed anything else. The ambiance was decent. The restaurant was clean and the overall atmosphere was pleasant enough. Overall, this just wasn't my type of restaurant. While others may enjoy it, I personally wouldn't return.
