The best haleem I've had anywhere. The consistency was thick and unctuous in the most perfect way. The haleem wasn't greasy at all. It had the ginger, cilantro, and chilies already sprinkled on top and was then topped wish crispy fried onions and chat masala. My mom's friends kept telling her about a food truck that sells amazing haleem at Highway 6 and Voss by Cafe Yasmeen. Then, a few days ago, her cousin told her about the same food truck selling biryani at some festival and how much she enjoyed it. When mom told me about the raving reviews, we decided to go ahead and try both out. The parental unit went and ordered in person. They didn't mention any issues for them in regards to service. The food came in standard black plastic containers, the kind that minimize spillage. Crucial for desi food- whether to contain the stew or lock in the smell. The haleem is GREAT (4/5). I'm super picky considering I've been eating homemade from scratch haleem since basically birth. Careful when opening the lid, the fried onion is piled mad high on top of cilantro and just enough chaat masala (spice powder), with a lime buried in for good measure. This haleem is thick and definitely has that cooked down all day flavor to it. The beef is so tender that it's basically shredded throughout the entire bowl- no large chunks of meat. The lentils have also been pulverized. At first bite, there's a smokey-ness to it that I could not place. Keep going, the flavor gets better with every bite. The biryani though is dragging this place down for me (2/5). The rice is dry and the oil content is out of control. When I finished eating, my plate had a thick sheen from the excess oil. The chicken was cooked well and the spice level was decent. I freely admit that some people like their biryani this way, personally not a fan. This is the haleem that all other haleems should be compared to, though none will measure up. I love how they incorporate the fried onions and ginger directly into it, lots of flavor, enough meatiness, enough but not too much spice, and the thick consistency make it excellent. The fact that it's consistently great every time I've ordered it (10+) makes it even better since food trucks can sometimes suffer from that perspective. They have gathered some hype since the food truck opened up on Highway 6 & Voss, and to give credit where it's due, the haleem they serve certainly carries substance to back up the hype. It will remind Karachiites of the legendary "Mazaydaar Haleem" from Bahadurabad. First of all, full menu desi Restaurants are bound to serve you Haleem warmed out of a fridge unless you get lucky and go in on the day it was cooked. Haleem Bowl gives you hot piping fresh stuff every day and their quality is very consistent. The Haleem does not skimp on the meat that is blended in but you can taste in every bite and a good level of spice that is a must for a satisfying bowl of Haleem heaven. As an avid food truck enthusiast, I was excited to find out that there was a new truck in the sugar land area. Since there are many brown folk in this area (brown sugar land), I've always thought that halal trucks would thrive in this kind of hood. I saw this place was labeled as "hot and new", and decided to give it a shot. I looked up what Haleem was because I honestly had no idea, and it seems to be lentils mostly. I wish it was amazing as we drove ways to get here from the north side. The customer service was not good and wish our business was appreciated. I have tried numerous haleems around the city & have not liked any. Tempuras haleem is good sometimes. This haleem however is delicious! I've already had like 3 bowls here. It reminds me of my mom's haleem & she makes it on rare occasions like my birthday so this is perfect for me to drive up & get myself a bowl whenever I'm missing it! The only reason why I have given this place three stars is because of its customer service. The owner of this food truck is very rude and complains about how we ask for unnecessary things. For example we ask to have lemons put in a separate container he still wouldn't do it. The skin of the lemon makes the Haleem bitter which he puts it with the Haleem. We have asked him for extra condiments such as napkins and he still provides one per order. He used to be very accommodating when he started this business few years ago but seems like now his business has gone up so he started to show more attitude. I used to bring my whole family and friends in couple of cars and enjoy the food fresh while spending over hundred of dollars per visit but I rarely visit anymore because we just got tired of his horrible customer service. read more

This is the best haleem I have ever had in my entire life, and I was just in Pakistan a few months ago. Stopped by on a rainy day and grabbed a bowl to split with my family of four.
