    Gourmet steak sandwich - beef
    Ifrah F.

Finally had the chance to try the Steak Spot! I ordered the gourmet steak sandwich (beef). Believe me when I tell you, this sandwich is everything. It features medium well steak, sliced thinly and placed on ciabatta bread with cheese. I had my doubts about the medium well steak but it was soft and not dry at all. The sauce is so flavorful and the salad in the sandwich adds freshness so it's not too heavy. Everything came together perfectly! I definitely recommend this place but if you're not into steak, there are other food trucks around so you will have plenty of options!

Steak (medium well) + corn + mashed potatoes: I loved the corn and the potatoes, especially with the sauce. The roll was also fluffy. The steak was less juicy (we should have gotten medium), but still tender and tasted really good. The BS sandwich: It was okay. I know a lot of people loved this one, but I felt it got too soggy? Would come back here to try the steak sandwich

Been to Steak Spot about half a dozen times. For a food truck, their steaks don't disappoint. I have had Ribeye, Top Sirloin and Chicken steak (lemon pepper). On the sides, they have creamy corn, mashed potatoes and rice. Don't think they offer fries anymore. Last time I literally saw the fries get peeled , cut and fried. The chef also does brisket on Thursdays and Mondays as well. I have tried their steak medium rare/ medium and medium well and they get it right each time. Today they luckily had a batch of halal Wagyu NY stips (A3), which I didnt want to miss. Getting halal wagyu is extremely difficult to find. Got the steak medium well and it was tender and juicy. I'll let the picture do the talking here.. I bet someone with dentures could eat it. Now that's a bit of figurative speech, but you get my point. The place is crowded with other food trucks and you may have trouble finding a parking spot. He cooks to order, so you can have a wait time of 20 -25 minutes.

We tried steak spot last night and for someone who's an avid steak eater, I feel this place needs to work really hard to improve their steaks. We ordered Filet Mignon and Ribeye. We requested both steaks cooked medium well but both of them were overly cooked, super dry, tasteless and chewy and texture was as it was deep fried in oil. It was under-seasoned with some kind of Desi style seasoning. We just prefer plain salt and pepper seasoning but either way it was not up-to the par. I really love their concept and I really hope they continue to work to improve their steaks, we will definitely give it a try again.

    Steak Burger.

I tried their steak burger at their Highway 6 location, which was offered as a special on Thursday, $6.99 for burger OR $9.99 for combo. It was extremely generous patty that was flavored and cooked perfectly. Also, their waffle fries with chat masala were different and tasted great. This place also offer excellent customer service. A must try for halal steak cravings in Houston!

Rib Eye Steak 12oz Creamy Garlic Mayo Corn Mashed Potatoes

Very nice owner, Great food and fairly price for steak. I ordered the garlic corn mashed potatoes and 8 oz ribeye. Came with more meat than I expected and it was really good.

I went to steak spot during a festival. The ribeye was delicious and cooked to the temperature that I requested. Can't beat steak spot.

We absolutely love Steak 48 and this time only elevated our love for this establishment. Our server, Taylor, was nothing short of exceptional!!! She was funny, engaging, full of life, and made sure we were well taken care of. Hands down, this was the best experience we've ever had there and we've been countless times. Taylor is easily another reason we will return. I saw her interacting with other guests and I have no doubt they had the same experience we did. Of course, I had a filet and my husband had the twin lobster tails. We started with the crispy shrimp deviled eggs. We shared sides or the roasted brussel sprouts and the sweet corn. Everything was prepared to perfection and delicious!! We cannot wait to visit again!!

I found this place to be underwhelming. Our server was nice enough service was not bad, they were efficient. The seafood is not wild caught and the prices do not align. It also felt like a third space of sorts, because I was hanging out with a well connected friend, and everyone who came in was a who's who of the Houston restaurant/nightlife scene, and gathered for what turned out to be an unplanned hang out. They were hosting a vinyl swap night, so folks were coming in to peruse the many boxes of vinyls, and a DJ spun classic r&b tunes. I hear that on some nights they make space for a dance floor so people can show off their best two step in the space. The drinks were great and well priced but the wine selection is what got me. I was told they were inspired by Japan's many vinyl listening bars-- having been to many across Japan as well as many NYC imitators, this place actually impressively comes close. A true gem in Montrose.

Regarding the food, the Frisée Salad was pretty good, well dressed and flavorful. The chicken sandwich was okay. The batter was crispy and flaky but it had no flavor. What made it a lot better was the coleslaw that brought a great deal of tang and moisture. The steak was not quite for me. It came on a bed of sauce that was flavorful with fresh veggies but it did not go well with the steak. Perhaps chicken would've suited better. The steak itself was dry and quite chewy. For dessert we had the carrot cake tres leches which was decent. The carrot cake flavor was there but the moisture from the cake was not fully spread in the cake. Overall nothing here was bad but with the plethora of restaurants in the Houston area I can't justify recommending or returning.

It's a nice lowkey neighborhood spot with a bar and outdoor seating as well. The ambiance was chill and casual which I am all for. They are pet friendly as I got to see some fur babies come in which is always nice. We started with some glasses of Cabernet and told our waiter we were celebrating my birthday. The food didn't take long to come out and was so darn good. It was probably one of the best steak nights I've had in a while. We had the ribeyes, mash potato, mac and cheese, green beans, and French fries. The steak was seasoned perfectly and grilled to the perfect temperature to my liking. We are still talking about it, I can't wait to come back and try their chimichurri sauce. We ended with the strawberry and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cheese cake. There is very little parking onsite and it seemed to be valet only @ $6. We parked at the public lot behind and there was a charge by the hour at $5. It is a 2 story building that resembles a throwback warehouse from the late 1800's. Upon walking in we were greeted immediately from the hostess and asked me what my name was for the reservation. I did not have one but they were still able to accommodate us. We were seated on the second floor main dining which was accessible by stairs or elevator. Got a great window seat with the Houston skyline! Our waitress was the bartender as well and she was very thorough and cheerfully polite. We already knew what we wanted so we dived right in with appetizers of broccoli soup, whipped ricotta w pita bread, and meatballs. All were delicious! Lunch consisted of my Reuben sandwich and my wife and daughter had the rigatoni w vodka sauce and steakhouse salad. Presentation was flawless and I was not expecting very large steak fries and coleslaw with my Reuben these were a bonus because the menu description stated it was chips accompanying the sandwich. Sandwich was very good just thought there could have been a little more Russian dressing and the Cole slaw was hot and not refrigerated. The corned beef was hot and moist. The Rigatoni was dry as well. Other than some minor issues with the food and I should have caught this when the waitress asked if we wanted sparkling or still water and I stated still and guess what came out a bottle of spring water along with an $8 additional charge. Oh well that is my fault and the waitress for upselling water without disclosing the additional charge. Overall we enjoyed everything and lastly I did manage to snag a NY Cheesecake for dessert with a light coating of blueberry sauce!

There was absolutely no way we were finishing it. We brought a ton home, so while it's definitely pricey, you are getting a LOT of food. The steak itself was top notch and cooked perfectly. We started with the bacon appetizer, which was delicious and, again, so much food. We also had the Brussels sprouts and potatoes as sides, and both were really good. I cannot for the life of me remember the names of our drinks, but I remember one was similar to a Moscow Mule and the other was a martini-type drink with a little sliver of dragon fruit in it. I really wish I remembered the name because that one was SO good. Service was great from start to finish. The inside has more intimate, dim lighting, which was perfect for a birthday dinner or date night, but it wasn't overly stuffy. People were dressed anywhere from nice to fairly casual. It is definitely an expensive dinner, but we knew that going in when we made the reservation, so there was no sticker shock. Between the huge steak, great sides, drinks, and service, we really enjoyed our night. We'll definitely be back!
