I was having some issues with drone noise on the aftermarket magnaflow exhaust for my 4runner and purchased a resonator from magnaflow to fix the issue. Tbh I never leave reviews, but when it's this bad all I'm trying to do is save the next guy. It's crazy to see that this place with a 5 star average. I guess if you don't care about your car it makes sense. Took my Corvette in to get a new over axle pipes installed. I asked if they work with stainless I was told yes, which they do but most people buy stainless to keep it from rusting... well at Barbee's you are guaranteed rust. My tips were crooked as can be, rusted to hell, and my shifter wouldn't even shift. I left it another day to get it fixed, when I showed up the tips were still crooked and my shifter still felt like crap. To be honest after the second time it should be fixed, you don't get another chance. I tried to see if they would help me get some new tips, all I wanted was a $200 refund from the $600 I was charged and they wouldn't do anything to help. Where I work... if you mess up you take responsibility for it and help the customer out, at Barbee's you get screwed. Saw this place had decent reviews and it was next to my office so decided to give it a shot. Probably won't ever go back again. I dropped my Jeep off promptly at 9am and told the guy either the catalytic converter or exhaust manifold was clogged, got a call 30 mins later that confirmed what I thought. I asked when the car would be ready, was told by end of day. Problem 1: Imagine my surprise when I called back at 3 only to find out it would not be ready until 2 the next day. I live near the airport (25+ miles away) so I quickly had to scramble to find a rental. Problem 2: Picked up the Jeep Saturday only to find black oil/grease all over the driver seat. Still trying to remove the stains. Problem 3: Swore I heard a rattle, looked today to find they misplaced the exhausted hanger and then put a bolt in between the skid plate and frame to keep it from touching. In summation, I spent $1000+ to get my car back a day late, pay for a rental car, stain the driver's seat with oil/grease, and then spend 45 mins under my Jeep fixing a lazy install. I just bought a Mazda CX-5 a little over a month ago, and I've had a rattling noise in the back I thought since day one. I removed everything out of the spare tire compartment, spent several hours under the car trying to shake things- see if anything was loose with no success.... AT ALL! Finally I decided to take it back to the dealer. They kept it for over 24 hours just to tell me I needed to remove the tow hitch since they didn't install it. To their credit though they did say that the noise sounded like it was coming from the muffler hitting the bottom of the frame. I crawled under there again with some exhaust heat wrap- did a really shitty job wrapping between the tow hitch frame and muffler just to see... well they were right. It was hitting, and driving me crazy! So last night I cruised Yelp for a muffler shop and found Barbee close to my house, but it was too late. So today I stopped in, explained to them what was going on, WITHIN MINUTES, they had my car on a lift! 15 minutes later he comes back saying I'm all set! I took my 2013 G550 to install Brabus Exhaust pipes on existing sport ( k9 option ) dual outlet exhausts. These tips require professional custom installation, the original dual tips from the muffler needed to be removed and custom curved pipe needed to be welded and then tips welded on the top. It has to be very precise to ensure they come out from each side perfectly aligned and both sides to be perfectly the same. I'm very impressed with the work James did. What can I say, he did weld everything perfectly and it looks amazing. The price also was reasonable. The customer service was great. Went over to install a muffler that I've already purchased, called the owner who said that I should come over to check how much will it be to install. Got there and he said it was going to be 200$, for an hour and a half of labor. I explained that it's a 15 mins job tops and he said that it's more complicated than that and I'll see. Went for it, and after 25 mins of waiting I came up and asked what's the status and have they started, and the guy told me that they haven't started, so I told him that I changed my mind and I'd like to leave. At that moment he told me it's already done let's get it off the lift. When I told him that I knew it was going to be a very short job and I don't want to pay 200$ for 25 mins he started yelling at me that I'm not appreciating him and that I'm rude. In order to get the hell out of there I paid this ridiculous price and later the owner called to tell me that he's reducing the tax from my bill. If you want to get ripped off go there to be scammed and yelled at. If you're looking for a reliable shop I'd suggest to contact a different shop. read more
