Beware of Mobile Auto Clinic. They will drop you like a lead balloon. In March 2025, my check engine light came on. I searched and searched for a mobile mechanic, read through tons of reviews. Mobile Auto Clinic was highly reviewed, so I reached out to them for service. I was really excited when they could show up the day that I got ahold of them. GGreat service! Looking at the check engine code, they determined that it was something wrong with my evap system. They replaced a part in my evap system, I am not mechanic, so can't remember what part that was on their first visit, but the cost was around $140. They assured me that the problem was fixed. Well, it wasn't fixed. My check engine light came back on. I got a hold of them and they decided to replace Fuel Evaporative Canister for $488.21. They told me that all should be good to go. We'll, it wasn't. My check engine light came back on. There were a few other visits trying to determine what was going on. In those visits, one of there mechanics told me to put Vaseline on my gas cap- said that maybe it was a seal issue with my gas tank. Tried that, check engine light came back on. There were a couple of other visit fees, I even drove from SW Austin to their shop to have my truck smoked, they said that they could only do it at the shop. They didn't find any issues in the smoke test, but I do have another invoice for 555.77 for ​Replace Canister Purge Valve and Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. Again they said that problem should be fixed. Again, check engine light came back on. Next thing they did was Replace Purge Line Going to Evap Solenoid for $499.35. Again, problem fixed. Nope check engine light came back on. They came back out a couple more times- replaced some seals or something. Totally fixed this time. Nope, nope, nope. Check engine light came back on. I texted the mechanic, Ben Barchuh, to let him know that light was back on. He said that he talked to some gmc mechanics or something, and that they said that we should just replace the rest of the evap system. I told Ben that I was nervous about that cost because I am really financially strapped right now. I asked for a quote for the rest of the system before we did the work. He said that he would get it over to me, but, in the meantime, I could just clear the check engine light myself. I have no idea how to do that! We'll, it has been weeks without hearing back from Ben even though I have sent him multiple texts. I contacted the shop to let them know that Ben hadn't gotten back with me. They said that they would have him touch base with me. Still nothing weeks later. I have now been trying to get ahold of the shop, and they have stopped responding to me. Not good business. It is now the end of May 2026 and my check engine light is still on. More than a year working with them and still not fixed. I have been patient, nice, easy to work with, understanding. I've tipped the mechanics a few times on top of labor and parts costs. I'm not sure what I did to them to have them completely ghost me. Apparently, when they can't fix something and you tell them that you are broke, you are a worthless customer to them. Really makes me feel like garbage. So it seems I'm not a good enough customer for them. I really was trusting them to fix the issue- I thought that they were experts. I guess not. When they can't fix something, they completely disappear. It's unfortunate because I really liked everyone that I worked with there. I had no problem giving them the chance to fix my vehicle because they seemed so honest and kind. Stupid me. Like I said at the beginning of this review, I chose Mobile Auto Clinic because they had great reviews. It seems like many have had great experiences with them. I thought that I was having a great experience with them until they ghosted me. Very disappointing. I had a mobile tech come out in December due to a leak at the side panel of my car. The mobile tech said he "couldn't determine" if it was the sunroof and so that is what he noted on the diagnosis paper. He actually told me it was an issue with my entire front windshield not being placed properly when being manufactured, and that due to the leaking because of this, the entire fabric below all of my interior and seats was probably drenched and that it was going to be a multi-thousand dollar fix as they would need to take out all of my interior and install new carpeting. I decided to go to the dealership and get a second opinion. They realized within 10 minutes it was indeed a leak in my sun roof (which remember, the mobile tech did not EVEN LOOK FOR.) it was an extremely quick fix and there was nothing wrong with my front windshield at all. (?????????????) I was told by management they would be reaching out to me after the winter break to discuss this and of course they never did. I absolutely should have gotten refunded the $140 or however the heck much it was for that mobile diagnosis. They also made a huge misdiagnosis with my husband's car previously, and I decided to give them another chance after that (but obviously should not have). They ordered the wrong part. Then, they priced the correct part twenty times more expensive then the actual price.

Not impressed First they never answer the phone at least in my case it was all done by text which I found very annoying Second they said it needed a fuel pump which I agree but then I had to tell them to replace the fuel filter odd I'm not the mechanic Now that they have replaced the fuel pump and filter the truck starts up cold at 2600 rpm which it never did before they worked on it which is not right yes when cold an engine will run at a higher rpm but not 2600 They give recommendations, that I didn't ask for but if you're going to give recommendations like they said the catalytic converters are bad and the estimate was over 3600.00 but then said well the smell isn't as bad now that they drove it a bit so do they need replaced or not? Ok the parts are expensive but a muffler shop quoted 2200.00 and the front end they wanted over 1600 to replace a few parts which is a bit high as well They didn't mention the obvious oil leak or front brakes that squeak maybe they don't know how to fix those things but they are as obvious as the squeaky front end The truck is 25 years old and yes it has a few issues but fix what you were paid to do Now I'm going to have to either pay someone to figure out why it idles at 2600 rpm's after they touched it or figure it out myself Again not impressed especially when I the customer is asked if I had any insights on why there is an engine misfire And the misfire is under load not while in park or neutral so to say that the cold idle at 2600 has something to do with the misfire is incorrect read more

Come here if you want your time and money wasted. I drove my vehicle to Mobile Auto Clinic and 2 months later had to tow it back to my house completely disabled. I cant even start it. I needed a conductor plate replacement, at first I brought the wrong conductor plate for my 09 Mercedes which I was still charged $450 for the removal process even though it was not fixed, my biggest mistake was even coming back. After finding a proper matched conductor plate coded to my vehicle and VIN number I paid $350 for this part alone, then brought my own transmission fluid for $90. Keep in mind I'm 18 years old, the ideal customer to farm money out of. Brought it back to the shop after paying $700 out of pocket already hoping to pay the last $500 just to get it over with, a whole month passes with no work done at all. This is a process that takes a few hours. A day at most. No follow ups or responses from them at all I had to call just to get an update. Time goes by and im notified that the shop has thrown away some of my parts the originally came with the vehicle. Absolute insanity Im told that there was metal shavings found in my transmission fluid EXACTLY like another 1 star review on here mentioned, told that my car would not engage in any gears while previously it was engaging to all gears, fast forward to today, shop wanted to charge nearly a thousand dollars for storage fees, I had to pay to tow a vehicle I drove up there knowing it doesn't even work anymore. My vehicle has 0 electric responses, I can't start it, my front right tire has 0 air in it, horrible experience I'd never come back to this place read more

I have a 2008 Honda Civic. I never had any problems out of it until a few months ago. Heading home one night after work, it started to die out when I pressed in the clutch. After that, the Oil Pressure light came on. I was afraid to drive it so I left it in the parking lot for days. After having a dear friend look at it, I had it towed to an auto shop in North Austin. I told them the problem and wanted help to get the Oil Pressure light to go off. They gave it back to me claiming they replaced the Oil Pressure sensor but said that the engine was "on its way out". They claimed mechanics didn't want to touch the car anymore because they were scared it was going to lock-up on them. I paid them, brought it home and it began to leak oil everywhere. It stayed in my garage for weeks after that. This put us in a bind and we had to buy another car because this was was "presumably" dead. Then, I finally found the Mobile Auto Clinic. They were actually across the street from my house. I went there, explained the issue to Ben, telling them that I just wanted a second opinion on my care before I sell it off. They called us back and told us that my car was fine and that the previous shop actually cut the wire on my Oil Pressure sensor and left damage allowing my engine to leak oil. Benjamin was kind, knowledgeable and the crew there got my car running. I was excited it pick it up. It ran like it hasn't in a long time. I was proud to drive it. In addition to this, this is the second time we've gone here. We took our other vehicle here weeks earlier and they fixed an overheating problem in our Dodge Journey. This place is impeccable. We have not been disappointed with their service. They are precise and their prices are great. They also offer a payment plan option for more expensive jobs. I put a water pump in my minivan and it was defective. I am 61 years old. I can't put in a water pump twice. So I called a mobile mechanic. He wanted me to pay for the parts up front. I did and he never showed up. I called another mobile mechanic. He seemed okay said he had been in business for years and was trustworthy. He gave me a quote and was coming in a few hours. Just before he was going to arrive, he said he wanted half of the money up front. That would have been $600. I had called mobile auto clinic before but they said they couldn't make it until the next day. At this point, I called them back, ready to take the appointment for the next day. They told me an appointment opened up on the same day . So I would have my car for work the next day. The reason I ended using them is. They have a contract. They have a street address. They have a secretary and most importantly they do not want any money until the work is done. It was expensive. But they are not working in a shop. So they don't have a hoist to work under the car. I saved the price of a wrecker. You pay for what you get. They are professional. They are not a scam. I would pay a little extra to know that I am not being scamed. I have replaced the water pump. Dave's Automotive wanted $626 plus I'd have to have it towed there, while I got quoted $273 for everything here at my home plus a two year warranty. These guys are the biggest ripoff I have ever ran across. I had them come out to see why my 2005 Ford F250 was not getting fuel. They towed the truck into the shop and and said it was a High pressure fuel pump. I had them do the repair and paid them 4700.00. A week later the truck had the same issue again. I called them and they towed in in again and then said the pump was after market and it failed. They then said they replaced it with a ford pump and came up with a laundry list of other things that needed to be replaced. They supposedly did those other repairs and called and said the truck was ready to go. I picked it up and a week later the same thing happened again. This time the bill was 4500.00. So again, they came and towed it into their shop. Each tow bill was over 250.00. This time they said a fuel injector needed replaced along with several other issues. At this point they were just throwing parts at the truck not knowing what they were doing. For one fuel injector they charged me 2500.00 + another 2700.00 for other parts. At this point I had nearly 20,000.00 in a truck that is worth about 10,000.00. This time they said I was S out of luck and they could not repair the truck. I picked it up in worse condition then when I first called them. You would think after spending 20,000.00 with them I would at least have a working truck again. I did not . They totally ripped me off and had every excuse in the book for why they could not fix the truck. I eneded up taking it to a diesel repair shop in Liberty Hill. The shop in Liberty Hill repaired the truck for 750.00 and it is now running fine. I have all receipts and find the also double and triple charged me for parts I had already paid for. Do not trust a word they say. They are as dishonest as they come and give the honest repair shops a bad reputation because of what they did to me. I have all receipts if you wish to see for yourself. Had an awful experience with this mechanic. I had asked them to replace a serpentine belt to which they did about 5 minutes worth of work not only that but they did a very shoddy job of it. Basically cranking down on my alternator like they were trying to open the gates of hell. They could've easily very easily cracked a bolt and ruined something for later. The technician who said he's been doing things for 8 year didn't even bother asking me if I have any special valves in my oil filter that would make it seem like I am low on oil instead he just overfill my tank. I drive about 450 miles a week for my job so I have to keep my car in good working condition with little chance of a fault occurring which this place they couldn't care less if my car broke down the next day. The technician was friendly however he did not listen to me when I talked to him about how much I drive and how important my car is to me. read more

They waited for me as I was running late trying to stick work in as well. They still took they're time suggested things that saved me from spending an arm and a leg. So my car wouldn't turn in in the parking lot of Target. While Target isn't a bad place to be stranded, not the ideal way to spend a Sunday. I call Mobile Auto Clinic and left a message. They called me back with 15 mins, got my information and said they would send someone in about 45 min. My technician arrived, had me pop the hood of my car and immediately said it was the battery. All of this took less than 5 minutes. He then got me a quote to purchase and change the battery- over $350!! I told him I wouldn't need him to do that but if he could jump my car so I could make it to advanced auto parts I would appreciate it. After he jumped my car, he said he noticed something else wrong with my engine peace and said if I wanted a quote for that. Said sure why not never hurts to check the price. Gave me the quote of over $400 again for that piece and I told him that that was good information to have for the future. And then he proceeds to charge me over $85. I was shocked because NEVER was I told that a quote would cost me $$$. The only reason I am giving them 2 starts instead of 1 star is because of the technicians friendliness and professionalism. As a business, it is extremely important to be transparent with your pricing and this was not the case. Had I known that I would be charged for a quote, I would have just had a friend come and give me a jump instead of waiting an hour for this service. After giving me a pamphlet of work they could be done, I choose the rear end be fully repaired, and a few extra things. Waited in a town over 200 miles from home, desperate to get my RV home and get back to work. All things they were fully aware of. Ended up paying every dollar I had to just get home, 4000.00$ the day they said it was done, I packed up and was heading to get my RV and home. I was told after they received full payment, I should drive another 200 miles to break in the parts. I stated ,I had no idea this needed to be done and you had all the knowledge I needed to get home. I took my car the other day to a different place and their recommendation was to replace the spark plugs and clean the fuel system in my car which was about $1100 with labor and would take about a full day to complete. We called Mobile Auto Clinic and they estimated all of the work at $750. They came to my house the next day, picked up my car promptly at 8am per our agreement and brought it back by 1pm.
