After a few poor haircuts at other barber salons, I came here on the recommendation of a friend, and won't be going anywhere else. The location is great, with the front windows looking over the water at the ferry station. The salon is sharp looking, clean, and inviting. The atmosphere inside is fun and friendly, good music in the background, and all of the employees seem to genuinely enjoy working together, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Cody has been my barber here, and he's amazing. He took the time to listen to the style I was going for, and checked in throughout the process to make sure I got what I wanted. He helped me find the problem areas that show up when my hair grows in, and adjusted the haircut to account for that. He was engaging without being distracted, and gave me a full service barber experience without dragging it on. Another upside to this place is the "Beer Fridays" with a free beer for clients in the afternoon/evening, and "Off The Grid" style food trucks / farmer's market on Saturday mornings. read more

It would be enough to say I travel from San Francisco to Larkspur to have my hair cut by Jamal but I'm compelled to say more. Jamal is a "destination barber" meaning it is worth your time to seek him out. He is professional, punctual, engaging, talented, and someone I recommend highly and without reservations. If you're looking to initiate a long term relationship with someone who will provide a haircutting experience I found nowhere else then Jamal at Barber Lane is your man. The fact that the Barber Lane is a clean, well maintained, comforting spot located in an area offering many attractions is an ancillary benefit. Jamal is the main attraction and someone that should be sought out. It always feels like a relaxing day at the spa. And no, I'm not a spa guy. Jamal once again exceeded my expectations, like he always has. Besides getting a really great haircut, I'm always enthralled with the attention to detail, never feeling rushed, and the relaxation aspect brings only one disappointment. Kelly is the best barber I have ever had. Period. She has been taking care of me for a few years now and I have never been disappointed. She is just a nice person who honestly cares about her customers. I tell everyone I know about Kelly and her great service. To my knowledge she is the only female barber in Marin county who does straight blade shaves. Kelly is the master barber at her shop and she is the best. Getting a good haircut is important but its not always easy to find a place that will deliver. Jamal at Barber Lane has been cutting my hair for several months now and its the best service I have ever had. He is very attentive to my requests and a master at his trade. Absolutely hands down the best cut I've gotten since I moved to Marin from the city. I think this officially means that I can cut bridge and tunnel out of my monthly vocabulary. Nicky is a top notch stylist, that could easily work in SF-London-NYC or some other crazy fancy ass place. He is a wizard. Price is awesome. I've had Jake cut my hair many times in the last few years and he's not only great at listening and engaging you in conversation during the process, but he can also execute a solid hair cut. I've changed my style up a number of times, but none of that has ever given Jake a problem. I highly recommend checking him out. read more
