Spencer is a wizard with shears and clippers. The haircuts and beard trims look great, he's quick, and the price is great! First-time customers are sometimes unhappy that he requires appointments and doesn't take credit/debit cards. I've gone here for 9 years and have always been happy with the results. The old owner, Mike, was great, but frankly the new owner, Spencer, does better haircuts (sorry Mike!). Be prepared to wait a bit if you stop by, there is usually a few people in line ahead of you and only one barber. There are a couple good coffee places on the block while you wait. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I've been looking for a place in Marin to get a good fade. Unfortunately my search continues, as my cut turned out so bad I had to shave my head when I got home. The barber is a real nice guy though. He knows all his regular clients by name (there were 5 people waiting when I went). Seems like a local fixture of fairfax. Everyone else seemed happy with their trims, but fades are tricky and only certain barbers know how to do them. So I'd say this guy is good if you're in the market for just a regular trim. Great local barber shop. I've been taking my son here for years. Mike is the owner and now has a second barber who is an expert in all types of fades. Two hour lunches are no longer an issue now that the second barber is there to cover the lunch hour. Try it out! read more

I was looking for a new no-frills barber shop after the San Anselmo Barber Shop shut down. Gave these guys a try and they didn't let me down. I just walked in, I believe they're open Tuesday - Saturday. The younger guy cut my hair, I think his name was Spencer. A quick, professional cut for a reasonable price ($25 as of Feb. 2017, which is cheap for Marin). Took maybe 20 minutes total. No complaints, I'll be back. read more

The only guy who I trust to cut my hair. Old fashion barber shop with Mike the owner and only barber. I only wish there was two of him working in there. The only complaint is sometimes you wait for a bit if lots of people there. His hours are tuesday, wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. M-F 8:30-5. He takes a two hour lunch. Only 8-1 on Sat. 1 star off for hours only, not expertise. read more
