First of all, my husband says that Lily is nice. The problem is the haircut and the business. My husband ended up basically paying *not* to get his hair cut because Lily did not listen to his requests just to cut his hair - nothing fancy! So he had to stop her from doing everything that he didn't want her to do. Then, she pestered him to take photos of him to promote her business. No. Just No. More problematically, when we went to book the appointment online, the website required that we agree to save our credit card not just for payment but *for future transactions*. We did not want to leave our information with this business. So I called to ask if we could make the appointment over the phone without leaving it. Lily told me the credit card information was just for the one-time charge, not as described online. She lied to me. When my husband requested that she remove our credit card information after paying for the appointment, Lily said she couldn't do that, and we'd have to go through Square. I am on the line with Square right now, who have advised me that they usually ask people to resolve issues directly with the vendor, who can simply remove client information from their Square dashboard (which Lily claimed she couldn't do). So Lily lied. Again. Just getting a bad haircut is all part of trying out a new barber. But this? No thank you.

I am definitely not someone who naturally has "hand model" hands, but somehow my nails always leave looking like I could be in a jewelry ad. The level of detail and precision is unreal. What I love most about Russian manicures is how long they last and how good they still look weeks later. Because of the meticulous cuticle work, the polish is applied so close to the cuticle that it takes much longer to get that obvious grown-out look you get with regular gel manicures. My friend and I literally compared nails and her 2-week-old manicure looked basically the same as my 4-week-old one. They are also incredibly durable. I have been getting Russian manicures for almost two years now, and with all my normal day-to-day activities like typing, cooking, dishes, laundry, gardening, and working out, I have not had a single chipped, broken, or split nail. Another unexpected benefit is how much healthier my hands look overall. Since I started getting Russian manicures once a month, I have not had the hangnails that used to constantly bother me. And Adinai herself is wonderful. She is sweet, kind, and a total perfectionist in the best possible way. She genuinely cares about how your nails turn out. Honestly, you should have seen the look of concern on her face when I accidentally put my thumb into the UV light at the wrong angle. She was immediately worried it would affect the shape of the builder gel. That level of care says everything. I recommend both this style of manicure and Adinai without reservation. I found it odd that they were willing to turn me away first instead of trying to find another time that would work. It seems like all their regulars go in on Saturday so maybe try calling ahead first.

I would love to comment on my haircut, but I didn't get one . I made an appt. for 10 am with "Brent?" (The other barber, not Tom - Cant recall his name, so he will be referred to as "Other barber") Anyways - I get there at 10 - and am told that the other barber will not be in until 11:30.. Because he was at "an event last night." But as a consolation, I am welcome to wait. I translate this as "He was too hung over to get to work on time, but you are welcome to waste your morning in here in hopes he gets in by 11:30." Why I would wait 90 minutes for some hungover guy to bring scissors dangerously close to my eyes and ears is beyond me. I can deal with waiting for a barber because they are backed up and I have to sit there for 30 minutes, I can even deal with the occasional crappy haircut, but this just really REALLY hit me as SUPER unprofessional... Especially considering the barber that was there didnt even offer a "sorry" until I was pissed and leaving. In fact, he seemed to look at me like "I" was the jerk for refusing to wait around. Like I said, Im not a complainer and I can tolerate a lot of BS - But I mean come on - There was really no excuse for this. read more

Great barbershop atmosphere! Needed a haircut last minute, after navigating the easy to use online booking I was able to book a haircut with Laya. Laya, using a different technique then my regular shop added new body and balance to my hair that I have never experienced. Upon getting home my wife believes it's the best my hair has ever looked. So much so my wife instructed me to keep Laya as my new regular barber. read more

I parked at the nearby Safeway lot and took my chances on a walk-in visit. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait long. This place is certainly a no-frills barber shop (I think there's only one or two chairs). So don't come in expecting a fancy-schmancy hair salon with all the bells & whistles. It's a one-woman show - her name is Susan. Very sweet, Asian woman. At first, there was a bit of a language barrier. I asked her to shave off all my hair and I think she thought I actually wanted her to use a blade and shaving cream (which she refused to do). But once we were all on the same page, she turned her electric razor on and started trimming away. 10 minutes later I was back to my shiny, bald self. Was it the best hair-cut I've ever received? No, not really. But for $20 + $5 tip, it did the trick. * Small warning - this barber shop is located next to a soup kitchen, so you might come across some unsavory, aggressive characters. While I didn't feel like I was in harm's way, I still played it safe and glanced over my shoulder while walking down the sidewalk.
