I really like this place! I was spending just as much getting a haircut for my kiddo at a kid's hair shop without getting a good result. I've had different guys at Barber Social Club cut my kiddo's hair and all have done a fantastic job. My kid who normally has a hard time with haircuts has gained the ability to sit through a haircut with no tears and minimal fussing. I've been looking for a new barber for whenever I'm in Houston and after doing some Instagram searching I found Gizmo and the Barber Social Club. Located near the Willowbrook area in a small brown shopping center on the corner of Tomball Parkway and Greens Rd. The shop has a very welcoming atmosphere, pretty laid back with about 4-5 other barber chairs. Gizmo was very friendly, understood what I wanted and got the job done. Prices are average for a good cut from a barber. I think I paid $32+tip. I made a reservation ahead of time with Gizmo using the Booksy app on my iPhone. Check on there for his availability. Walk-ins are also accepted but you might be waiting a while. Overall had a great experience and I give the Barber Social Club two thumbs up. read more

Been coming to this spot for Romeo before he left. The gentleman cuts my hair for the past few times doubts my decision of coming back here. As you can see in the back that it's crooked, i didn't even see it till my girl pointed it out later. The side burn still has leftover hair looking super ratchet. Not to mention that this hair cut literally took him 25 mins, I have never had anyone cut my hair that quick before. Searched a while and went to many barbershops in the downtown and north side of Houston. This place is hands down the best I've been too. I've gotten fades, pompadours, parts etc...Gizmo and his coworkers never did me wrong. If Gizmo was booked at a time I needed a fade/trim, he happily recommended me to another one the other barbers without issue. Dude is solid and I'll keep going back. Also, saw that Chyno dudes review and it's bullshit. Was in the parking waiting for my trim today and heard it happen. Dude straight lying about the "N" word being used or Gizmo admitting it. He's a troll and should be dismissed. Blasting this business on some false racism waters down the actual fight against racism. Chyno just trying to get the likes and his keyboard warrior badge. Lastly, the music they play there is completely censored. You'd get worse language on the radio. Check this barbershop out, you won't need to look for another one once you do. read more

I checked the reviews and went to Gizmo. Well it's a hype and is overpriced. For that price you get a hair cut with shampooing. I asked for a faux hawk based on a pic and he went too low stating it is wet and will look the same as the pic when it dries up. Well I have known my hair for my entire life and I know when the length is too short when wet won't change the outcome when it dries up. He also said "it's the volume of hair that will make it look (like the pic)", well for me the length matters not the volume. He also said to me "you showed me the pic but didn't mention the size". Well who is the barber, you or me? So never coming back here ever. Oh, I forgot to mention $37.55 for a 30 minute machine Haircut and Beard with least scissor time and that amount is before the tip. read more

I just recently moved from Miami, FL to Houston and I was looking for someone who could trim my beard the way I envisioned it. I found Chris (The Owner) on instagram and texted him. He immediately gave me a time to come in the very next day. My initial thought when I walked in was that the barber shop was very clean, organized and I was greeted as I walked through the door. My appointment was for 10:30 and at 10:28 I was seated and ready for a trim. Chris was very pleasant and professional. He even went out of his way to tape me up which I was not expecting. I visit this shop 2-3 times a month and have made it my go-to barber shop. It's always clean, and easy parking. They barbers are all great. Respectful guys and girls at this establishment, the music is good and the guys are respectful. (They don't curse or talk about inappropriate topics, so a good place to bring the kids). If a customer calls in requesting a specific barber, more than likely that customer takes pride in his cut. So that customer shouldn't be recommended to a barber if the skills aren't matched. This was my first and last time here. My normal shop I know is already booked on Saturdays which is $5 cheaper so figured I try an alternate shop. Mistake on my part. I could've went to my Asian barber and paid $10 for the same cut which I use when I want a cheap cut. Now I have to come home and clean up it to make it more crisp. If you charge premium price, it should be a premium cut. My line up looks like a straight ruler was used on it, no type of arch to it. Disappointed! read more

To respond to someone here that said they were 1 minute late and told they would have to wait....here's an idea for ya.....how about show up on time for an appointment YOU made.....the world does not revolve around you sir.....I am sure if you had the common courtesy of calling to inform them you were running behind they would have waited an extra minute....although I highly suspect your minute is probably a few more than ONE in reality. If I am not 10 minutes early to an appointment I consider myself late and will inform those waiting on me, it's called being considerate of others and THEIR time and schedule. On the one hand I want to give props to one of the best Barber shops on the NW side of town that just opened, on the other hand I like that this hole in the wall is not too crowded, so giving a raving review might be personally deleterious. All jokes aside, this is a very nice spot, right next to willowbrook mall. Can't go wrong with any of the barbers, but my go to is Miguel for a clean low taper with razor edge up (~$25 + tip, and they take cc). The shop is very clean, flat screens, good jams, they use top notch tools and good sanitation technique, which is a must. Anyways, check em out, or not, but I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

I'm not quite sure how I feel about BSC. The hair cuts are never bad but they just aren't great. They don't rush and a professional but there is something about the atmosphere that doesn't lend itself to a great experience. Maybe its the loud hip hop music or the strip mall location. I will say the dude who cut my hair at Barber Social Club was good at his trade, however, he didn't cut my hair to how I requested it.
