Happened upon Barb's while traveling North from Grayton Beach back to Atlanta. From the street Barb's looks small but it hides a rather expansive interior. It was about half full during a Sunday afternoon. Taking a look at the buffet we decided it was enough so we ate here rather than at one of the many BBQ options. The food seemed a bit hammered in the steam tables and I thought that there was a touch too much salt, but fairly typical country food. While everything was palatable, nothing was special, but then again where else are you going to eat in Eufaula that isn't BBQ or fast food? Next time I may try the catfish I noticed on their menu (wasn't visible on the serving line, may have been out) no set menu so I think it varies on what is available. Service could've been better, I was there for breakfast, food was bland but that wasn't the worst part, as expected with any country breakfast biscuits come with every plate, well, my son's egg plate didn't have a biscuit so I asked for one for him, I was charged $2.25 for it, I felt it like a punishment for asking for another biscuit which he wasn't given from the beginning, very expensive food for what it was, you're better off going to a Cracker Barrel if you have one close where you'd have unlimited access to biscuits and won't be charged $2.25 for each one. read more

Only my lack of willpower on the mainline kept from having two pieces of pie. If you are around here at lunch time, I would highly recommend you ditch the diet and come eat like country royalty. Outstanding food and outstanding service is the hallmark of this business. I grew up in Eufaula and was visiting my folks for the weekend. I didn't want them to cook anymore than needed but I was craving a downhome meal and I found it here. We walked in and it was crowded with smiling faces and very busy. The building was an old bar and the home of the Eufaula Tribune before that. The brick is exposed and shows the history of the building. It isn't a fancy place and is just a step up from an hole in the wall but you aren't going there for the ambiance. The food is spot on! read more
