Stay very far away. all the great RNs in the world cannot make up for one horrible lazy stubborn wanna be doctor there is nothing more than a cruddy PA. You don't want this. Go earlier to someplace else. An urgent care if you need imaging use your damn phone I must I must identify the APRN advanced practitioner who stunk so bad last night Amy B Hughes, she was terrible all the effort that my RN Kelli put in to try and get my test going or I need by that stubborn, arrogant wannabe doctor and APRN is not a goddamn doctor. I needed an x-ray to make sure my lungs were clear. I did blood tests and a lot of good things but we had to wait because Amy dug heels in and wanted to make us wait. What a jerk like. I said you can't make up for a bad APRN. I'm just sorry for the nurses that are there Kelli and the other RNs really need to be given more latitude and not have to wait for one lazy snot faced jerk. Sorry you had to work Tuesday night if you wanted to have time off, maybe you should've studied more and been a better practitioner. Go buy yourself a pizza. read more

Since I complained about the poor (lack of) care at BayCare Urgent Care Countryside yesterday, I feel I need to Yelp an opposite and POSITIVE experience at Bardmoor Emergency Center last night. The folks at Countryside need to tour here and take copious notes. I was in acute pain and they took care of me immediately, found me a place in the back to get comfortable, and provided great care. I have been here twice. the nurses and doctors did a good job but both times they let someone practice inserting an IV. first it was a paramedic and the second a helper. Both times they left me completely black and blue and I have a very easy vein to hit. Stop letting people practice on patients. read more

Daughter in law was sent to er with bp of 204/110. Waited in er waiting room 2 hours. Finally taken back and more waiting. This place sucks

I went in after work after experiencing flank pain and nausea and dizziness. I walked through the front door and was checked in right away. Before I could complete the check-in, the triage nurse was calling my name. I had a great nurse named Billy. He answered all of my questions and was friendly. The doctor, Hasan Rasheed, seemed tired and disinterested and I felt offended when he asked if I had used any cocaine, heroine, and methamphetamine. I have been to this emergency room before for flank pain that was kidney stones and had never been asked about substance use. As a recovering addict of 10 years now, I can tell you that when a medical professional like this stereotypes you, it makes the rest of the great visit seem poor. However, he ordered tests and they found the issue and had me out within an hour and a half. I have been a substance use counselor for the last 4 years and I can tell you that experiences such as this can keep people away from seeking medical help because they feel stereotypes and the quality of medical care is sorely lacking from staff that don't have empathy for their patients. This is hard to rate because everyone was great, but being stereotyped by a doctor blurred this experience. read more

I'm giving this place a one star because It makes me give them something. First of all, they were rude, nasty people working the night I went. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. They took more X-rays, which they didn't need, as I had some the night before. Then they told me that they were giving me a plastic splint, which felt like it was going to fall off my foot. Then they gave me a boot that made me burst into tears from the pain. They didn't care. They said which one works. Well at that point nothing helped and it was almost better not having anything on it. They got nasty with me and pushed me into a brace that made it more painful. They discharged me KNOWING I WAS IN MORE PAIN THAN WHEN I CAME IN. I crutched out to the parking lot and broke down in tears and couldn't move because of the pain. My fiancé went in to talk to them and they said they would have to check me back in, which my insurance will not cover. This was their fault, they should not have let me leave in more pain than I was already in. Oh, and did I mention they gave me a pain killer about an hour or two before they tried the splint and boot? Save yourself time and go to a place that actually cares about its patients well being. Oh and while I was there, a patient walked out of the building and left. So they really don't watch their patients nor do they care for them properly. read more

I recommend this place to anybody that needs to go to ER why would you go to the big places this place rarely has a wait time. when I needed my gallbladder taken out and I had insurance at the time I called Morton Plant financial resources department and they wiped my bill right out what people don't know is as long as the insurance company pays for most of the bill they will write the rest off if you ask them to because you can't pay read more

This Emergency Room is an amazing orchestration of workers coming together to meet the needs of the community. This place has their procedures and timing down to meet your needs quickly while providing you superior support. One of the huge benefits is waiting time. I arrived on a Sunday morning and was the second person waiting after a 6 minute check-in time. Had I gone to Morton Plant or Largo Med, I probably would have waited at least an hour. I was not seated longer than 8 minutes and was called in to be assigned to an E.R room. They are all private rooms lined down the ER hallway with sliding doors and curtains for privacy. No one else can hear your private discussions. Amazingly, today, you don't need to be transferred to various areas for most testing. All of the blood work, X-ray as well as Ultrasound machines were wheeled into my room for use! Blood test results are nearly immediate as well as ultra sound and x-rays. After the 4 technicians and nurse visited me, like clockwork, the main Doctor came in for the diagnosis and advise. I've never seen such a rapid check-out process in an E.R in my life. The P.A came in with about 8 sheets of paper disclosing all of my blood work, test results, recommendations, then processed the data to my primary car doctor and notified Walgreens I was on the way to pick up my prescription! And here is the kicker. You normally have to wait for and RX for a few hours. I drove from the E.R. to Walgreens and they already had my RX completed and ready. I'm floored over the efficiency of this Emergency department and their outstanding employees. read more

It has been a while since I have been in any hospital. I took my daughter into emergency for a potential broken foot. They had everything set up electronically and once we were checked in, they took us to a room right away. We were in and out of the hospital within 2 hours. I have no problem with the physicians and staff. What I have a problem with is BILLING. When you go here, you get 2 or 3 bills. In my case I got a 7682 bill for the emergency room and maybe the hospital (I was sent to Morton Plant for observation). My insurance paid $3941 and left me with $75. I got another bill for $280. My insurance paid $53 and I paid $50. Then a third bill, the problem child, was $1190. My insurance paid $579 and sent me a bill for $284. I was getting a lot of paperwork at the time, and thought it made no sense for me to have $284 and that the negotiations with insurance must still be happening. So several months passed. I had met my out of pocket maximum for that year. I went to Baycare at Carillon, asked them to look up my account to see if I owed anything. NOPE -- YOU HAVE A ZERO BALANCE they said. Fast forward several months and my credit score dropped from 725 to 650. What? I haven't had any dings on my credit in ten years or more. No calls, no nothing. I pick up the phone every time it rings and say my full name. I am very old school about that. No voicemail messages saying I need to call someone back. So there's a line item on my credit report from AR Resources, a collection agency. The bill was from Baycare Emergency Physicians. I call them, and they send me to their billing service. The billing service told me what my insurance had paid, and I verified that with my insurance. I asked both the billing service and the collection company why there had been no phone calls to me before they sent this to my credit report. The billing office was at least honest and said they don't have the staff to make such calls. They said they sent three bills. At this point I have no way of disputing that and no interest in doing so. The collections company told me what I consider to be a lie, that they had sent me at least one notice in the mail and made three phone call attempts, but never talked to me. You see, I know that's incorrect (a lie) because I always answer my phone, always listen to my voicemail, and have had continuous phone service. Do they think I wouldn't have paid a $284 bill instead of having a ding on my credit report? Maybe they get people like that, but it seems like they would at least contact me once by phone to see what's up. And in this case, since I went to one of their billing offices (the hospital's) in person to make sure I didn't have any outstanding bill, I just blame this on their way of billing separately and not being willing to make a phone call. It is, in the end, terrible customer service. And that's a crying shame because the people at the hospital are professional, courteous, and nice. But that doesn't mean I will be going back there. A complete emergency room, only missing an MRI. Any admissions get taken to the main Morton Plant Hospital 15 min away. Waits are usually less than an hour consistently, and you're out the door much quicker than you would be in a main hospital ER. Great place to go for any mild to moderate emergency. read more

The PA was ok. The nurses were terrible. The room was ice cold and you think you could get a blanket or a sheet ? Well they would have to come in your room to do so. And when they did show up they were less than pleasant. You want to be cranky at someone. I'll give you the guys info who hit us. I don't want to be here less than you do ! Shame on the nurses. Go somewhere else for a traumatic emergency. if i could have chosen a zero or half star, i would have done so! first the address posted here is wrong! it is 8838 not 8839 the address on our document is 8838, it sounds insignificant, but a gps may drive to the wrong location. the directional signage is wrong at the location! when you drive in, the sign to the Emergency Room clearly states to drive forward. i followed the directions, only to end up driving in circles! i finally found the correct location. upon leaving, i was at the same place i started! they should have placed a right hand arrow pointing in the correct direction, instead of purposely driving Emergency Rom patients in the wrong direction! no wonder there is little or no wait here, there are few patients that can find it. what a cruel joke to have er visitors driving in circles! thank God, i was driving someone who did not have a traumatic emergency. i tried to contact hospital administrators to complain, to no avail. i was nice enough, but their refusal to listen to reason, is what upset me. how unprofessional! to not listen to clients, unexceptable business practices. my concern is someone rushing a loved one or maybe a child to the er only to follow thier directional sign and drive in the wrong direction! Yelp changed my text. unbelievable. I had to go back and edit. Which I do not have that kind of time. I promise I capitalized the "I's" and capitalized all words at the beginning of the sentences. read more

A very costly UTI. My daughter was at Bardmoor Emergency Center for less than 3 hours and diagnosed with a mild UTI . So far, my insurance company was charged 12,122.00 for room, 900.00 for doctor and 700.00 + for exams. Those charges are outrageous and I will never recommend this place to anyone. I will never come back. You are not a hospital. You are a fancy hotel that is only interested in making the big bucks. The Dr. had no idea what was wrong with me. What he first diagnosed, a 2 year old would have known this was not the problem. We had to wait extra long before we could leave, just so he could give us more advertising for your hospital. Pay closer attention to the patient's requests, and who is to pay the bill, ie my Insurance Co. You received a fax while we were there, with all the instructions. I still received the bill & had to go thru all kinds of red tape to fix it. This is a very unhappy patient. read more

Horrible horrible horrible staffing at this facility. My daughter fractured her foot playing volleyball and we didn't even see a dr!! The nurse practitioner had an attitude with her after asking her a question and my daughter answered truthfully. She has suffered with pain and without sleep now for over 48 hrs because they did not provide any pain medication and told us to have her take Tylenol!!! what the hell - broken foot and she should tolerate pain?? pathetic facility read more

This is the second time I've been to this hospital, both times we were there forever.. This time I was particularly unhappy with I went in there for ankle pain turns out I pulled a tendon. There was a doctor named Chris who was in charge of putting a splint on my foot, he got frustrated with me because I was in tears (obviously I was in pain) another doctor came in after the mold hardened and gave me pain medicine, Chris rushed out of the room without finishing my splint. We were then told that we needed to follow up with an orthopedic tomorrow (the next day) I soon informed them I had no clue how I'd do that due to me having to work all day tomorrow and he soon started talking to me like I was an idiot. Horrible attitudes from majority of the doctors the only pleasant person there was the lady at the desk. I will never go back, I'd rather drive the extra distance to go elsewhere. read more

When you're treated like a drug seeker because the CT didn't show what you voiced and what your BP shows. I came in with such bad lower quadrant pain, I'm pretty sure it's my appendix, I wish I had voiced the statistics of how many times an appendix shows fine on a CT even though it could be ready to blow. Just like my mom this was trip three having all the symptoms of appendicitis. I guess I'll be waiting for mine to blow now. Like hers did. An ambulance ride and emergency surgery. All because the picture was fine even though my BP was through the roof and I told you myself I was in pain. But that's ok DR MIKE T PA in the ER. You didn't let this one walk away with narcotics, hope youre proud of yourself. As I was crying in tears, upset in pain, and feeling defeated, AGAIN. Knowing I was being sent home to sit in agony until the next time I give up battling alone and come back. I break through the tears after he made a snide remark :I see my friend was nice enough to write you something Friday: I broke through crying to say :he wrote tramadol and it's just not working for this pain or I would be here: apparently that translated something enough for him to reply to me with "I'm not writing you any narcotics". I'll never be going back. Ever. I'm also glad I have a witness (my husband), and when I called HR they seemed really upset with how I had been treated both days. SOOOOO don't go here if it's for pain, because you're just a drug seeker. read more
