Totally unexpected. And what? This place saved her life. ER doctors were great! Nurses, 100% amazing! Lance on the 4th floor called for ICU when he realized she was septic at 104F it. Then. Dr Lombard - Urologist. Saved her life - both of them. Then Donna - Charge nurse on floor 5 after everything was done. Her crew was top notch and #1. My wife spent 11 days in this hospital. Donna and her nursing staff were the best I have ever experienced at ANY hospital in my entire life. Kudos to these ladies who work their butts off behind the scenes. They even let my Dalmatian come into the hospital with me. And I had only 1 really terrible nurse on the 4th floor ( Julie - you know who you are - thank god you do not work for me - you'd be fired instantly - you almost killed my wife - thanks for not listening to her - made her sleep in puke with a 104 fever and septic - real good Julie. ) Lance came on shift after Julie and noticed she was 104F and called for ICU instantly and knew she was septic. This Julie nurse almost killed my wife - I hope you can sleep at night. Every single other doctor and nurse was thorough and helpful. Thank you to Lance on 4, Donna on 5, and ALL of the nurses on 5. My wife and I have sat and cried about how well she was treated at this place. We have reflected on how Julie almost killed her. And how Lance saved her life, and Dr Lombard as well. We cried about all the great experiences we had on the 5th floor with Donna and each of her nurses. Donna and her staff made this the absolute most wonderful hospital stay that I have ever experienced in my entire life. I want to express extreme gratitude to these people. Thank you! You saved her life! *Quick mention* Security staff at the front entrance - you guys were top-notch. I really enjoyed you guys, and thank you for everything! You guys were amazing and deserve a raise!!!!!

About two weeks ago my mom was admitted after a stroke and everyone from the ER triage nurses to the people delivering meal trays were just so nice, helpful and patient with my mother and kept our family up to date with things regarding her health. Since we spent a few long days at the hospital we were given a cart with tea, coffee, bottled water, soft drinks, fruit and snacks every day that were were there. That was completely unexpected and so appreciated. I especially appreciate the nurses in the Neuro ICU unit and the nurses in the third floor comfort care unit. Their compassion and was incredible especially since such an awful time in our lives. They have a DD downstairs in the lobby and a cafeteria where the food actually isn't bad at all. They even provide meals free of charge sent to the patient's room if you want.

The only symptoms documented were nausea and vomiting, and she prescribed anti-nausea medication without further evaluation. The nausea was related to something my child had ingested, which I prefer not to discuss publicly due to the personal nature of the matter. No bloodwork was ordered, and no thorough physical exam was performed. We were told nausea medication would be given, and that was the extent of the visit. Uncomfortable with the lack of assessment, we sought care at HCA Florida Largo West Hospital. The physician there was surprised that even basic bloodwork had not been ordered by the doctor at HCA Florida Gulf to Bay. At Largo West, they conducted the necessary testing, identified a serious issue, and admitted my child for further care. There was, in fact, a significant medical problem that had been missed by Dr. Jerisa Berry. I truly believe my child's condition was not properly evaluated during our initial visit at HCA Florida Gulf to Bay. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this HCA location. Mainly because of Dr. Berry's gross negligence. Her lack of a thorough evaluation and poor bedside manner were very concerning, and the outcome could have been far more serious had we not sought care at another hospital.

I was referred to the ER after visiting a local Urgent Care. The first person to visit my…read moreexamination room was the billing clerk, that collected $643 before they could proceed. Dr. Jeffrey Francis came into my room, stood at the door, asked a few questions, never came near me, and said he was going to order an EKG. The EKG was performed and bloodwork was drawn. After an hour of sitting in the exam room, the discharge person came into my room with paperwork. What??? I never even saw the doctor again. I was told that HE HAD "LEFT FOR THE DAY". No conversation, no plan, no results of the EKG, no nothing. Remarkably, today, I read the results of my EKG, which were written by Dr. Francis and they state, "Possible Anterior Myocardial Infarction, PROBABLY OLD." So, this states that I possibly had a HEART ATTACK and it was "PROBABLY OLD"??? This is wrong on so many levels. This "Doctor" "Left for the day" without coming back into my room to talk about this or anything else? Another gentleman then did come in and basically said that he was the guy responsible for damage control when things go awry. Not knowing if I may or may not have had a heart attack, this gentleman stated that their purpose at that facility was to make sure that "you don't die within a week or two". That's GREAT! Perfect business model in a lifesaving position - just give them another week or two of life. Upon reading the results of the visit in my chart, the report is filled with lies written by Dr. Francis. The section "Physical Exam" is especially unsettling, as the doctor never touched my body, as he simply talked to me as he stood next to the door. This is shocking and absolutely unacceptable.
