Loved the tour, it was staffed by a knowledgeable guide and even had headphones and transmitters for loud places! Great experience which rated 5 stars. However , the upscale , odd menu of the restaurant didn't appeal to me, but I needed something to go with my old fashioned so I chose the bread pudding desert. It was good, but instead of coming with a bourbon sauce, it came with a balsamic based one. Why?? Our server wisely warned us us and we both asked for it ion the side. Good choice, it didn't belong with the chocolate bread pudding. The tour of this distillery was great, I just wish the restaurant could have some more normal choices and a choice or two for for vegetarians. It's not only meat eaters that drink bourbon. I sure won't choose this as a dinner or lunch spot again. It's a real shame that I was forced to rate the 2 together, as they clearly aren't in the same class. The Bardstown Bourbon Company distillery tour warrants a 5 star review. Very well done tour, knowledgeable and friendly guide, an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The restaurant, on the other hand, while very nice in appearance, would barely get a single star from me for their very unappetizing menu. If you don't eat much meat or mayonnaise, you are basically out of luck and should look elsewhere. Even the cheese dip was served with pork rinds for dipping. Major "yuck" factor for me. We ordered bread pudding and were thankful our server forewarned us that it was served with a strong balsamic sauce. We requested it on the side. It was extremely off putting. I've had some tasty bourbon cream sauces with bread pudding, but to have it served with what essentially tasted like salad dressing was unpleasant, to say the least. Apparently a lot of customers are complaining, but since it is what the chef likes, it stays. So, enjoy your tour, which is one of the best in the area. I'd avoid the restaurant or at least check out the menu first as you won't find anything common or the normal enjoyable staples like house made chips, pizza, pretzels, etc. I think they're missing some great opportunities but maybe some enjoy this odd food. read more

Great place to check out where you took the tour or not. The food is great. The burger was delicious. Not sure why but burgers and fries always taste good when you do bourbon tasting. The burger was good size. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good but a little too much balsamic glaze for us. The old fashion whisky was from the barrel and it was excellent. Very smooth and consistent with each sip and glass ordered. The service was friendly. Large dining area with a nice background for photo ops. Great place to stop by on the way to Nashville for lunch. They also have some limited edition bottles there.they have lots of their bourbon to try at the bar and also other local bourbon distillery to drink if you prefer. We came in for lunch before some bourbon tastings and thought the place was gorgeous, though the way the restaurant is set up, it almost feels like a wedding venue that serves food. Waitress was nice but didn't know a lot of the answers to the questions we had on certain bourbons that they had at Bardstown, which I thought was strange since she did work there. Foodwise, the menu changes and is not huge - I was trying to avoid spicy or fried and there weren't many options for me. The side caesar was cute but I prefer it more chopped, and the chili was just ok. The best thing was the cheesecake at the end for sure, do not pass on that. The espresso martini was good but on the lighter side, definitely more a iced coffee martini. Chicken sandwich was good and they did substitute if you don't like pimento. read more

Beautiful day refreshing drink special enjoyed also enjoy sampling the bourbons. It was bustling would have enjoyed a little more personal attention while sampling the bourbon. Did have the feeling you were a bit in the way during the tasting. We had such a good time here! We had a tour scheduled so we decided to eat lunch before it. I'm very glad we did. The restaurant was beautifully decorated like a Napa winery but with bourbon. Service was awesome and the food was really good. I had shrimp and grits which came with large shrimp in a gumbo gravy over creamy grits. It was delicious! The only thing I didn't like was that the tails were left on the shrimp causing my fingers to get dirty. My friends had the burger, the chicken sandwich, and the pork medallions. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. Portions are plentiful and could easily be shared. This was a great lunch before our tour! read more

Second time back at Bardstown Bourbon Company but no tour this time just for lunch. We were quickly seated an ordered drinks and apps. I course did an Old Fashioned for my drink of course and for apps we did the Kentucky Poutine and the Caesar Salad which was for sure large enough to share. The Kentucky Poutine is amazing. Delicious gravy, squeaky Cheese Curds and and fresh cut fries. We also added an egg on top since the runny yolk works so well with everything in the poutine. For my entrée I went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich which comes with Pimento Cheese on it was well and a side of Fries. It's hard to say no to Pimento Cheese on a Fried Chicken Sandwich. Our food come out about 10 minutes later and everything looked really good. My sandwich had a nice big piece of fried chicken but the only issue was half if the chicken was over cooked making it a little tough. The other half on the other had though was perfect. The fries once again were fresh cut but were a little greasy for sure. It was also my birthday when we were there so they did give me a free Bread Pudding and ice cream which was great! Bardstown Bourbon Company is a beautiful distillery and for sure worth the time to check it out as well as for lunch/dinner. The food wasn't as good as last time but that's also because they didn't have some of the things we loved on the menu 2 years ago. We arrived right before the lunch service at 11:30 and sat at the bar, around 11am. We waited there for lunch to start since all of the lunch reservations were full. We were promptly served at 11.30 and the food and service were great! The drinks were fantastic as well! I don't know why I didn't get a picture of the drinks, but they were pretty good for a newer distillery. Ambiance was, as you can see, gorgeous! Maybe my favorite tour. We did the Barrel Thieving Tour and their 3.5 Year bourbon was just fantastic. You get three cask strength samples in the rickhouse and then you get to go to a great room where you get a fourth sample. I paid the money for the chance to fill my own bottle with Triple Stave and it was great bourbon. These guys are newer to the industry but they take other bourbons, plus their own, and make fusions of flavor. Overall, this was a great tour that I loved. I came back and bought Steve Nully's Legacy blend. My bottle was signed by Steve and it was a neat experience. read more

Our party of four went on a Saturday night. We accidentally passed the main entrance door, walked to the end of the building and entered by a bar. Somehow all the glass, the shadowy lighting at dusk and our passionate conversation prevented us from seeing the main entrance doors..until we had passed them already. So, once we entered in the wrong door, we had to walk back to the hostess stand (at the correct door; this felt like a walk odd shame) and wait a few seconds to be seated. Once we were seated, we decided to get 2 appetizers and share them. We got the chicken fried oysters with kettle chips and pan-seared brussel sprouts with bourbon bacon and kentucky blue cheese. The oysters were just OK (I mean they have an acquired taste), but the kettle chips were quite tasty. Actually, since both of the appetizers were flavorful, I assumed that our entrees would be tasty also. Well, that was an incorrect assumption. Three people, in our party of 4, ordered the fried chicken. All three of us were disappointed. Our dishes were really bland and unappetizing; though, they looked amazing. After hearing so many good things about this restaurant we were thrilled to have a reservation here right after our tour. The area is nice and open. We had the first reservation of the day so we were seated and greeted immediately. As expected their bourbon menu is extensive but we decided on a Manhattan with Bardstown Bourbon. It arrived quickly and was delicious! For lunch we ordered the mac and cheese and the blt. We also ordered the Humingbird cupcake for dessert. By far, the best lunch I had all week. I had the salmon nicoise with a fabulous vinegarette. My husband had the tacos and were equally impressed. My only negative was we waited 30 minutes for our drinks. We ordered a shot of bourbon on ice each. Not that complicated to prepare. So happy someone got the right idea to have a true restaurant along with a bourbon distillery. Bottle and Bond Kitchen and Bar has got a good thing going for themselves. The restaurant/ kitchen and bar is very modern. The inside is beautiful and very inviting. I love all of the plants and greenery throughout the building. They even put up this amazing moss wall up that is great for photos. My friend said that she had been several times and that the drinks were amazing, the food was good but the service could be better. We had no issues during our visit. The service was great. Our server took great care of us and was very attentive. Now the drinks are amazing!!! I got the Bardstown Mule and my friends got the Wabbit and the Fairly Odd. Now I was a little worried about their drink choices but these are by far the best drinks I've had. They were all delicious and unique. I will definitely be back for their drinks. My friend and I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the other friend got the Fried Chicken. Both entrees came with fries. The fries have a good crunch and taste great with their ranch dressing. I didn't try the Fried Chicken but it looked amazing. My friend enjoyed it and it was a good portion. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was delish. It had a creamy deviled egg spread on it and a good amount of spice on the chicken. I throughly enjoyed the meal. There is a shop to purchase bourbon and other spirits. There is a beautiful bar on the side of the restaurant and then there also a nice area for the tastings. I really enjoyed the whole experience. We did the tour and ate here...both of which were pretty awesome. The tour was a tasting tour (oh yeah, I forgot to mention...I don't drink. So, it all tastes like gasoline to me) and it was really cool. My wife liked the samples...me, not so much. The restaurant is an open floor plan with very modern fixtures and amenities. The potato soup was really, really good. Chunks of ham and fresh scallions...yum. Next I had my first every taste of Poutine. I have always been a little leery of this, but was pleasantly surprised. The gravy wasn't to sagey or too salty and was quite good (I recommend it). Next I had the Wagyu burger. It was big beefy and delicious. I liked it so much, I shared it with my shirt...so do the leen over your plate or you will wear it as well. The fries were similar to 5 Guys or Penn Station, so, they were fries. All in all it was an awesome tour with some really good eats to follow. Reservations fill up fast(for the tour) and they use Open Table for the restaurant. It was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive south. read more

My mom and I were in town visiting family and I thought it would be fun to take a drive down to all the distilleries. I read many reviews and it brought me to Bardstown! I remember calling in the day of, and the woman on the other end was so incredibly helpful. She made sure to squeeze us in first thing on a Friday. 5 stars for service! Truly, the boozy milkshake photo did me in, but to my surprise, they don't make them anymore, BOO! However, once we arrived, we were wowed by the grounds and how beautiful the modern architecture was. We were sat at a large table right in the middle of the restaurant, which was a large dining room with the highest ceiling, and it was so open you could see every area. The bar had multiple areas to sit with a grand fireplace dividing it. We dove into the menus - first - a bourbon flight. Now, we are not bourbon drinkers, but we couldn't NOT try it. Then we added in the food! Poutine to start, then the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and we asked for their bourbon maple syrup so we could dip. Once that fried chicken came out, we were sold. It was a half chicken for size, fried up and crispy to perfection. Seasoned country green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. We drizzled the maple syrup on that chicken and devoured it. Of course, we couldn't end this night without dessert. Cheesecake. Anytime cheesecake is on the menu, we have to order it. Also, who knew cheesecake went really well with bourbon?! We kept taking bites of the cheesecake and tasting our bourbon with it. YUM! read more

We had a really good experience. The environment is very relaxing and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The drinks were phenomenal. My wife and split the Brussels sprout as an additional side. They were cooked down in a caramelized glazed with what looked like chunks of pork belly. So good. My only issue with the dish was I felt they could have been cooked longer. Honestly that is probably just a personal preference. The other issue we had was the chicken was over cooked. I ended up taking the chicken off the sandwich and ate just the buns. I definitely will end up going again. And giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. read more

I've been waiting for this distillery/restaurant to open for years after getting a hard hat tour 3 years ago. It finally opened to the public this May and I was pretty excited to check it out... First, let's talk food. If you're not the type to usually order a veggie app... get over it and order the Brussels sprouts!! Oh goodness, best thing ever. My boyfriend had the fried chicken and raved about it. He's picky so that's a compliment! The salad was the only place I was disappointed- the salad dressing tasted like plain mayonnaise and ruined the whole thing. Next, the bourbon! This is a young distillery so at the moment they only brand a "collaboration" of a whiskey from Seagrams and local barrels. It's ok but not worth the $125 price tag. However, they have a full bar making cocktails and a large whiskey collection - so you can find something you love. Finally, the service. I was disappointed at first almost allowing the service to knock it down to 3 stars! When we first sat at the bar we were clearly overlooked for more "important" tables. We ordered apps, 2 meals and at least 6 drinks... finally after the important tables cleared out the bar tender warmed up to us. I decided he was just stressed for the day and the place really does deserve 5 stars. read more

In a word: stunning. By far, the best distillery tour I have taken so far in my life, Bardstown Bourbon Company (BBC) has some amazingly tasty whiskeys to go with their ever-amazingly and magical production facility and rickhouses. A relatively new addition to the barrage of distilleries located in the Bourbon Capital of the World, BBC have made their mark and made it fast like a pegasus soaring through rainbows and blinding rays of light. Upon entering their visitor's center and production facility, you are transported into a realm of unlimited possibilities. Their sophisticated design of their visitor's center and production center is truly a sight to behold -- with open spaces and clear glass showing their magic at work as they mash and distill the whiskeys. Moreover, their restaurant is fantastic, which is where I enjoyed a flight of their treasured whiskeys after sampling from the staves on their Honey Spot Thieving Flight tour. This experience was magical, with a Capital M. Very magical. Taking the Honey Spot Thieving Flight tour, we enjoyed walking down the halls of the rickhouse, surrounded by endless rows of shelves housing barrels of different whiskey mash bills. We were fortunate to thieves three whiskeys directly from the barrel on this tour -- two were bourbons with one a rye. Our guides, Leslie, was a peach, who had a tremendous knowledge of the whiskeys mashed, distilled, and aged as well as the industry. She made the tour a lot of fun, especially, as some of us had the opportunity uncork one of the three barrels we would sample from Glencairn glasses. She had us guess which of the whiskeys was a wheated bourbon, a rye bourbon, and a rye whiskey, as well as which was a one-year, a two-year, and a three-year aged whiskey. I figured out what was the wheated bourbon (just wrong year -- I thought a three year but really a two), the high-rye bourbon and a one-year, to where the last one was rye. Tasting the whiskeys gave you a chance to experience the different flavor profiles, with the insight Leslie provided. We concluded the tour in the rickhouse lounge, comprised of gorgeous leather and velvet furniture and a bar with velvet pub chairs. Absolutely amazing it was to enjoy a Glencairn of whiskey while lounging in there, chatting with the guide and the other visitors. We enjoyed a glass of the Copper & Kings sherry-cask finished whiskey, which was quite smooth and velvety, as well as magical. It's clear when you tour these rickhouses and talk to the guides and distillers how much passion and creativity are involved when it comes to producing stellar mash bills of whiskey to blend and create masterpieces. We learned that they provide scores of mash bills of whiskey for several different brands (ones whose bottles I own, such as Jefferson's, High West, and James E. Pepper). I was fortunate to have both bottles I bought signed by one of the distillers (I think his name was Chris). It was super cool. Following the conclusion of the tour, we enjoy some lunch and more whiskey in their Kitchen & Bar, grabbing a leather sofa to sit with a view of the clear-glassed fireplace. That capped our day there so magically, especially, when I enjoyed a flight of both Goodwood blends (Honey forward and the Walnut forward) and the Chateau de Laudbade. Each was distinct from their respective body, flavor profile, and character, leaving for a fantastic drinking experience. Their crafted cocktails are additionally delicious, such as their Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned and Just Peachy. The former was excellent, using a barrel-aged whiskey blend with bitters and citrus oils, while the latter was our favorite using the Fusion Series #2 with peach-sorghum syrup and mint. If you're looking for a good sandwich, order the fried chicken. It is excellent, especially as they brine in pickle juice, very magical, and served on a brioche bun. Bardstown Bourbon Company is one of the absolute musts to tour if you like bourbon and want to visit the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. They have a selection and ingenuity like no other. read more

Elegant but relaxed surroundings provided the perfect atmosphere and ambience. Our guide, Leslie was extremely knowledgeable about the products and the distillation process. I was surprised and impressed that in the tasting we were able to try the wheated mashbill, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and was a little disappointed that it wasn't available for purchase. However, the wide and varied range of spirits that were for sale made me quickly forget about it. It was amazing to see Leslie use her super strength to open the barrel so that we could taste the amazing goodness that it kept secure. That was definitely unique. The entire team was extremely focused on keeping everyone safe from possible Covid19 contamination, by adhering to the recommended social distancing and wearing of masks during the tour, and in the bar and lounge areas as well. Trying the flight after the tour and having Leslie explain the different nuances of the different casking methods and the resulting flavors really capped it off. Luckily for us, that wasn't the end. We were able to meet the President, Mark, while enjoying a couple delicious old fashioneds at the bar. Overall an incredible and eventful experience not soon to be forgotten. My only regret is that the kitchen was not currently open due to the pandemic when I visited, but it should be opening shortly. And it may warrant a return visit if their food is as incredible as their staff, Bourbons, and tour are. read more

So we found this place after leaving Makers Mark. Much to my surprise there was a large crowd. We waited a good forty minutes but it went by quickly because there is a bourbon shop inside the restaurant which is fun to explore. We were seated at a chic table. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The grits were yummy and soft. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was served in the cutest style. Oh and the Brussels sprouts were crisp to perfection. The space is absolutely beautiful, with big open windows, green walls, open kitchen, and a lovely outdoor patio area with fire pits and bocce ball. The menu is heavily focused on burgers and meat, so vegetarians don't have a lot of great options (the vegan options are pretty much zero). The cornbread is solid, and has a nice moist center. I ordered the Caesar salad, which is a large portion but nothing special. I also had the Mac n cheese which is very good and rich but a small portion (honestly all you need, though). My friends had the fried chicken and said it was excellent, but the fries were cold (still tasted good but would have been stellar hot). Another had the chicken salad and said it was good but the presentation needed some love. They do have gluten free bread, which is an awesome option for those who need it. I heard the brisket was top notch, as well. I did not have a cocktail, but others had the barrel aged old fashioned which I tasted. It was nice but a bit too astringent. Some of the other cocktails looked neat, and included beet juice, carrot juice, sage, and other unusual ingredients. We tried to order a few selections off the bourbon menu but it took us quite a few tries until we got something that was actually in stock. Their vintage bourbon options are extensive, so definitely the place to go if you're looking for the old and rare (some prices for a 1 oz pour are actually accessible and under $50, while others are $1000+). Our service was very friendly but painfully slow with a half full lunch dining room on a weekday. Overall it's a very nice place and the food prices are reasonable (not cheap and not expensive), but I wouldn't go out of my way for the restaurant. It's a great spot to take a rest and grab a bite along the Bourbon Trail - especially in nice weather for the patio. It's a solid spot, especially for the area. read more
