The owner was arguing with me when I said that my regular girl know what I do but she said its not that they all knows what need to be done. I wasn't used to how dark the brows turned out and she wiped the brows again to try to lighten them. They did fade the next day and wasn't as obvious. I struggled with writing this review for a couple of months…read more 1) Yelp has this notification or message to please accommodate businesses during COVID. 2) Yelp also sends another message to look at and like/ acknowledge other reviews by other consumers for the same establishment. I did not read the 3 recent Yelp reviews from other customers who had really bad experiences with this Salon. Deepika - " poor and rude customer service", chasing down a nine month pregnant woman. Shreya " ruined, destroyed". Jaswinder " sheer waste of money" These are words from their reviews. My mother knows the owners for 40 years and meets them on a regular basis at parties, lunches, card games and get togethers. My mother is blind in her right eye. Her vision and perception are hence hindered. I drove her to the salon for her cut n color appointment with the owner Nina L. Nina had her daughter Evina handle it. The other owner/partner Vineet's father, manager and front desk counter person Mr Darshan ( goes by Deekay) N was very polite and welcoming. I was told to come back after 90 minutes which I did. He told me not to forget her winter cap as it was really cold. Very considerate. It took about two hours. I paid the $94 in cash ( Yelp 10 percent discount so $105 total minus the $11, plus a $33 cash tip plus a box of Lindt truffles that I had picked up in Switzerland). Got home and then actually looked at her head carefully. She had been butchered. ( see both photos). Her scalp was showing.The hair was cut way too short. The color was lighter than she requested and normally got. I took photos. I went back with the photos 2 days later. When I mentioned the issues, the really nice Manager Mr N ( owner Vineet's father) snapped, I mean yelled at me" What are you showing me this for ? I am not the aesthetician.". I politely asked for Nina L. She got flustered and denied everything. " Her hair was already like this". " This is what your mother wanted" etc. It took every ounce, every fiber of self control in my being not to say anything, not to react! I waited and stood there and she eventually did say, " I am sorry!". I responded " Is that it?" She then stated " Oh ok, I will fix it!", then turned and walked away. I counted to ten, smiled, waved and walked out. We did not go back, even for the free fix it.

Over the last few months, though, I have been consistently burned. The first occasion I actually called and complained to which they told me that waxer had since been fired. It had been less than a week, but okay. They said they'd put a note on my account to keep the wax temperature lower. I have to say, I went with Ashley after this and she is great. She is probably the best waxer at this location. She's nice to talk to and is no BS. She knows what she's doing. Unfortunately her schedule doesn't really work with mine so I've booked with whoever is available. Pretty unfortunate I'd say because I continue to get burned but this last time was really bad. Thankfully I'm not scarred but my skin was not just red, but was peeling from the temperature of the wax. Before it started peeling it was flakey, which was pretty scary. I texted the center asking for a call from the manager. She did call but I missed it- when I followed up via text she never answered. That just shows the kind of managerial staff is hired here and how the leadership trickles down to the waxers. I have been in a management position in a gym before and I would continue to follow up if I didn't hear back from someone who got hurt or injured. I have since cancelled future appointments at this location. I would have asked for a refund on my wax pass but I never even got the chance to ask. When you spend over $500 on a package, you should be getting quality service... or at least a call back/ follow up text. BTW, she gave me her personal cell phone number to call and never answered. When I called a different location and let them know I need the wax temperature lower, they said that it's standard procedure not to keep it too hot and were shocked at what I told them. Thankfully I can use the wax pass at any location, which is exactly where I'm taking my business, somewhere other than the Plainview location.

On numerous appointments especially early on I even showed her images of the brow shape I wanted. Fast forward months later and the price increasing numerous times (I think it went from $15 to $30?) (which I didn't mind because I was committed to having my brows be that shape and knew I needed a professional to do so), I complained for the first time in those two years that my brows weren't at the shape I had wanted them to be, in fact, they were progressively getting more arched and thinner, which I didn't want. I even showed her pictures of me from before when I started and how my brows were much more arched now. Even though I was very patient and this was the first time I had any criticism in those two years, she was very rude about it. In fact, she even said, "oh you were looking for that type of brow, I thought you meant something else". Again, I understand how she could forget despite me even showing her images of the brow shape I wanted, but it would've been nice if she could ask me to clarify at the beginning of my appointments if she was unsure. And knowing this, that she was doing a completely different shape on me than what I asked for this whole time, she still responded very rudely. I guess she was having a bad day that day idk, because she was dropping things a few times that day and was running late as well. However, it was still very rude to treat a customer like that over something that is very obviously an error on her part. I think she said something like, "maybe I'm not the one who can do this shape for you", which she could've told me months ago when I first came in. And I was showing her pictures to show her my eyebrows looked better before compared to now, and she was in denial. Like if you know you were doing something completely different than what the customer asked you, and the customer is saying "I'm not seeing the shape I asked for", for her to be so dismissive and rude about it makes no sense. Anyways, it just sucks I was wasting my money this entire time and driving 40 minutes to and from every appointment, as she was trying to make my eyebrows more arched instead of less arched lol.
