I am a customer of this place more than 10years. First of all they dont even know my name. Today I was ther to do my eye brow and other things and they have charged me way more than what regular price I pay. When questioned they said they gave me organic tint where in regular i get the regular one. The owner was arguing with me when I said that my regular girl know what I do but she said its not that they all knows what need to be done. Then why did this girl gave me a expensive product with out explaining to me. So be careful when you sit on that chair and dont know what they will will charge you. Today was my last visit to this place. If you dont care about your customer then dont ask for reference also. read more

Very disappointed with my experience. I went in for eyebrow shaping, but the technician removed too much hair between my eyebrows, leaving an unusually large gap and an uneven appearance. I specifically expected a natural shape, but the result was far from what I requested. I am unhappy with the service and would not recommend this salon for eyebrow grooming. read more

I took my kids here to get henna on their hand. They charged us $30 per hand. They let the kids pick a design from some that were posted on a board. There were 3 young girls doing the henna. 2 of them were more talented than the other. The customer service is not the best. The lady at the counter seemed upset. We'll find another place next time. Absolutely terrible experience - do not recommend. I went in for a simple underarm wax and walked out with what looks like a chemical burn on both sides. The service was done by someone named Raj, and I suspect they used extremely poor-quality wax or strips. The skin under my arms is now red, inflamed, and burning nonstop. It's not just uncomfortable--it's genuinely painful, and I'm worried it will leave permanent marks. There was no hygiene protocol followed, no sensitivity check, and zero care taken during the process. This is absolutely unacceptable and negligent. I have been a returning customer at Aaina of Hicksville since they opened the Hicksville location. I only have my eyebrows threaded there & always have had different people.... my experiences have always been a positive one until today (TUESDAY 10/28/25). I went into the salon with only two people working & was given "Susie", I specifically told her I wanted just a light cleaning on my eyebrows & that I preferred them thick. Well to my dismay, she kept threading & threading while I could feel her hands were constantly shaking until I told her I wanted to take a look because for a "cleaning" it felt like she was threading too much & while I was looking she said "oh I promise just cleaning". They looked thinner than I've ever had them threaded in the past (I was already annoyed) & I repeated please not too much. She threaded the other side & then without even asking me started threaded the inward side shapes of my eyebrows & shaped them into a rounded thinner shape (never have the inward parts of my eyebrows been reshaped by any other eyebrow threader there)... I was beyond upset, annoyed & disappointed.... I just wanted to RUN RUN RUN out of that salon so I can look at my eyebrows closely. But not before having the other lady while charging me for the services tell me that "Susie" had 25+ years experience in highlighting, hair cutting & blow drying hair so I should come back to see her.... I literally was dumbfounded that she was recommending her for other services when she could NOT do a basic eyebrow cleaning successfully. I'm not being insensitive or mean but this profession doesn't seem the best suited for "Susie". Especially with clients coming in to a beauty salon to be provided "professional" services. I can't imagine what type of haircutting service she could/would provide with her hands constantly shaking & what looked like she most likely has cataracts (cloudy blue tint) in both of her eyes which makes it challenging for the person to see clearly. Please beware & do NOT have your eyebrows threaded or have any services done by "Susie". I now have to wait a few weeks or months to regrow my eyebrows to the thickness & shape they were & slowly get them fixed. INSANE EXPERIENCE! I have to find a new place for eyebrows which is not the easiest.... Aaina please do better in hiring people that are well suited to provide the services needed without having this happen again to other clients. This is unacceptable!!!! read more

Shamsha did a meticulous and beautifully intricate mehendi or henna design on my hands. However, the dye is drying and it is coming out extremely light, which is disappointing. I am following her instructions to not wash my hands in any way until the next day, so I am waiting to see if the color darkens but I do doubt it. That said, it was a pleasant experience. She was very welcoming and checked in to gather my input throughout the process. The price was a little high but warranted considering how time consuming it was. The service was friendly and homey, but like I said, the end result is very light and faded. A higher quality Mehendi should be used in the future so that it comes out dark. read more

You're getting this one star because you don't know how to take constructive criticism. I'm pleased with my eyebrows, but I spent $60 dollars doing eyebrows, eyebrow tinting, and HENNA and voiced my disappointment with my $35 henna that rubbed off in three days. That's crazy. I stated that I will still support you, but your henna paste has to get better and you're getting agitated and telling me about everyone else? Did I spend everyone else's money? NO. I SPENT MY HARD EARNED MONEY. Why are you telling me about everyone else again? I've been getting henna for too long for you to tell me my henna rubbed off because I washed my hands. Wtffffff???? Am I not supposed to wash my hands or bathe for henna? That is downright DISGUSTING in these times especially with COVID and I work with children. And your henna isn't BROWN .. it's an Auburn Red .. which will disappear more easily. Don't play with my logics and research. ADD SOME MORE COLOR AND STOP COMPLAINING. Lady, don't insult me. I asked for the lady to just clean up the spare hairs at the bottom of my eyebrows as I'm trying to grow them, and have been trying to throw them for 3 years. I told her don't touch actual eyebrows and she said she understood. She didn't listen at all , she did whatever she wanted and I left with SKINNY eyebrows. I said "you made them skinny and didn't listen to me" she with a smile said "oh I made it into a line, it looks good" are you kidding me? Great spot for eyebrows. I moved a few months ago nearby and have been coming here since and have been happy with each result - even when it's a different technician each time. They're friendly and efficient. You're in and out within 10 minutes or less. There's parking on the side, which is convenient. Pricing is competitive! There is one nice lady there who knows what she's doing. Issue is, the "manager" is a total nightmare. I go to a salon weekly and would love to make this place my regular place but the manager is so frustrating that I go to Elsewhere now. She is your run of the mil micromanager, treats her employees like thieves, probably measures her wax at the end of the day and is more worried when she sees clients trying to make sure each employee spends minimum time and charges as much as possible. Definitely not a relaxing experience if you're looking for a regular go-to spot. So many options in the area, others will invest a second to learn the clients' name and will treat regulars with an ounce of respect. Not this place, not this manager. I don't even care about the money, really, it's just annoying to have a manger circling your chair monitoring what the girl is doing, making sure you're charged more than last time. I'm a loyal customer to This salon, in fact I posted a review for this salon 2 years ago and at that time I gave 5 stars. I'm changing my star status for this place due to recent experiences . I get my brows done every two weeks, and I also get the occasional full arm and underarm wax. They have sensitive wax which is great for my sensitive skin. The past 5 times I've gone to this Salon I've been disappointed in the beautician providing my eye brow service. They've been very slow which is painful to feel and also it hurts holding my arms up for an extended time. I informed the beautician I wanted the service at a quicker speed she responded "okay" and didn't proceed to speed up. (Took about 20 minutes and my eyebrows should only take 5 minutes since I go regularly and I have pale skin) If you are looking for someone quick to provide these services my recommendation is to either ask for the owner to do it (who is quick and efficient) or avoid this location all together.
