The prices for tours and rentals are pretty reasonable too! My experience at Barefoot Billy's was for just a jet ski tour of Key West. You should definitely arrive an hour early to take their driving on personal sports craft test (if you're born after 1988 ... crazy Florida rule). You'll definitely get a report of the water that day and specifically while you're out on the water. At the beginning of the tour, they'll take some action pictures of you, so be on the lookout (they'll call you out to quickly prepare yourself)! You start almost immediately with some history and a few lessons on traveling safely in group. This is a tour ... but you're inundated with lots of history. During this tour, I got to ride the waters of the Atlantic Ocean as well as the waters of Gulf of Mexico. The gulf waters were very choppy ... but that made it much more fun on jet skis. You're allowed some time to rest while some history is passed on. Something interesting here is that this tour company built in some fun time in the tour! Fun time means that you are on your own to go crazy on the jet skis (with safety kept in mind). The tour guides were both educational and interesting. My husband and I were looking to go out on some jet skis for an hour or so just to pass some time and have some fun. We contacted the concierge at our hotel and we were informed that jet skis were no longer allowed to be rented for personal use, but rather as a two hour, 27 mile tour. I was a little hesitant at first with the fact that I would be out on the water for two hours and that it would be in the form of a tour. I was so wrong !!! What an amazing day!!!! Two hours broken up into five attractions and historic information. PLUS twenty minutes of "free time" to play in the Gulf of Mexico. Truly a wonderful trip!!! Fun, educational and well worth the money !!!! Don't forget these guys work for tips so if you are planning on going out, plan on a nice tip for your tour guides (20% of your package price is suggested, just as you would in a restaurant). I liked this tour better than some others because you get 20 minutes to free style and do your own thing on a nice smooth spot on the Gulf. some tours don't provide for any free ride time. ask before you register. also for those who never rode before, be aware that speed is needed on these machines. I agree with one of the other reviewers. They neglect to tell you prior to the start of the tour that you will go FULL THROTTLE for 2 hours. Super choppy, not comfortable going that fast. Basically had to force one of the guides to take us back because we were uncomfortable with that much speed on a jet ski. Then one guy tried to blame it on us saying, "didn't you listen to the intro video"? They would not give us a refund. I guess they just assume everyone wants to ride the jet ski like a bat out of hell. Bad business practice as far as I'm concerned. Used Fury for 2 tours, they were super conscientious, safety minded, great staff, super helpful & understanding. IMO stick with Fury tours, their customer service is top notch. read more

We were not looking for a jet ski rental but we came across Rachel near the Southernmost Point at the northwest corner of Duval and South St. Rachel was very personable. We ended up booking a sunset cruise for that night and a jet ski tour for the next day. The sunset cruise was awesome, Zach and John were our crew and they were very funny and accommodating. John was a great host and kept a drink in our hand and food on our plate. My wife doesn't drink, and Rachel had made sure there was a 6-pack of NA on board, which was a very nice touch. The sunset cruise was a good one, plenty of time on the water, and a great spot to watch the sunset over the open water just north of Sunset Key. The next day, I went to the 2pm jet ski tour solo, my wife dropped out at the last minute. The 12pm tour was getting back when I arrived at the little beach on the corner of Vernon and Waddell at Dog Beach, there were 6 of them and they were all wet and smiling, reporting a good time by all. My 2pm tour turned out to be a solo tour, no one else signed up for 2pm. After the introductory how-to (I am not an experienced jet skier) my guide Juan and I started off. Because it was just the two of us, me and Juan, he lead me through all the high waves, showed me the spots where the locals go, and we went fast! It was the best jet ski tour I ever had. My knuckles were sore from the white-knuckle ride, my legs were worn out from the wave jumping, and I had a blast. Definitely could not have done all that with my wife on the back of the jet ski, but don't tell her! I highly recommend you seek out Rachel for the tours (we've done many from different companies and Barefoot Billy's is a good one!), tell Zach and John hello for us on the cruises, and try to get a private jet ski tour with Juan, you'll leave sore but smiling with a great memory! read more

Had an amazing time. This was my first time jetskiing and I was terrible at first. Their instructor stayed back with me and didn't make me feel bad about it. He explained to me what I was doing wrong and taught me. After 30 minutes I was way better and even got up to 51 miles an hour briefly. Totally recommend these people! read more

the guides were great and informative. the ride was choppy but they did warn us in advance. we were first timers and I wish I had had my own ride instead of tandem. my husband loved it and would do it again. Had a great time on the jet ski island tour with PJ! Both employees were extremely professional and followed all rules/regulations. The tour itself took you around the entire island and also allows ~20 minutes for some free riding. The riding was pretty exciting at times with the waves but that should be expected out in the Atlantic Ocean. read more
