The esthetician explained the process and asked me questions about my skin, and if I get claustrophobic, which I do. Because of that, she switched up what she was going to do. Apparently one of the treatments is a jelly-like mask that covers your whole face and some people experience anxiety as a result. So, she did something else. I felt glowy and relaxed when I left. They do try to upsell every client, which I'm not a fan of, but they were not super pushy about it. I would go back again.

Checked in with the patient care coordinator, Lyna, who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to spark a conversation with. I was taken back by the Esthetician, Johanna, who explained the process before, during and after my facial to ensure I had the best routine specific to my skin. The Korean facial is a multi-step skincare treatment that gently focuses on deep hydration while repairing your skin's barrier. The goal is healthy skin with a vibrant, "glass skin" glow which is known as the Korean facial. There was several steps to this facial which is specific to your skin and needs, but generally it consists of deep cleaning, gentle exfoliation, a hydrating mask, serums, massage, and then LED therapy. I walked away completely relaxed with my face feeling and looking like a baby's bottom. I highly recommend Johanna when you schedule. It was great having a fantastic service and not being upsold, so Thank you for recognizing the importance of the full experience. Barefoot Bliss is nothing short of amazing! The studio is quietly tucked away in the heart of Old Town San Clemente and it is an oasis of calm in itself. Spotlessly clean with wood beams and ceiling boards, the space breathes with relaxation. With only one table, there are zero distractions and privacy is guaranteed. The table is gently heated and the sheets are as soft as they get. The massage is out of this world and bliss is the perfect word to describe its effect. The long and deep strokes will work out every knot in your body and leave you feeling light and invigorated at the same time. Most importantly, the therapist learns your body so the massage actually keeps getting better with each visit, something I would have found hard to believe after my first time. Time allowing, do yourself a favor and go for the 90-minute treatment. You will want to stay longer. Barefoot Bliss is a rare find and, if you are lucky enough to have found this place, do not miss the opportunity. I am located fairly close to the studio but even if it moved 50 miles away, I would do the commute and it would be worth every minute. Yelp needs 5+ stars for a place like this. read more

I can't stress enough how wonderful Aimee and her whole team are! They are friendly, professional, and extremely caring. I've been getting monthly massages (through the membership) for nearly a year. I have fibromyalgia and my experience at Barefoot Bliss Massage has been incredibly helpful for my symptoms & pain management. Yesterday I woke up in extreme pain from my fibromyalgia where even putting on clothes was painful -- I came in for a massage with Alicia in the morning. She took her time to speak with me before the massage and understand how I was feeling that day and what she could work on to help me feel better (including trying a CBD topical cream with the massage). I left completely pain free! My time here has honestly felt life changing, having emotional and physical relief from symptoms that often feel crippling. I joined Yelp just so I could give Aimee a shout-out! My wife and I had back-to-back 90 minute massages and when we were done we just looked at each other in disbelief. Having never had Ashiatsu massage before, I was pretty bewildered by how she was doing what she was doing once she moved from using her hands to using her feet, but after about 5 minutes I quit trying to figure it out and just enjoyed it. Right after my massage I told my wife that this massage made it seem like every other massage I'd ever received felt like expensive lotion application. Since I tend to be pretty picky, she thought I was just being flattering until it was her turn. If you've ever had a massage where the "therapist" was chewing gum, wouldn't stop talking, wasn't paying attention, etc., then you will appreciate the professionalism and atmosphere Aimee creates. I just wish we lived closer so we could make it a regular part of our lives. read more

All I can say is I'll be back and can't wait to see Aimee again. What an experience!!!!!! This was my first time doing Ashiatsu and definitely won't be my last. This was actually only my second massage and the last one was over 20 years ago. So Aimee went easy on me and I can't wait to see what she can really do!! I had a middle back pain and had my appointment a little over 24 hours ago and already feel so much better. It was so amazing, at times I didn't know if she was using her feet or hands. OMG! Best massage ever - Ashiatsu is the way to go. I enjoy Swedish massage but my sis gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and I gave it a try. Deep tissue not my thing but the therapist was able to gauge the pressure just right for what I needed. I'm a convert for ever! In the beginning it was explained to me that because the feet cover a larger surface it's more relaxing and the pressure flow is more consistent. The massage studio is beautiful, relaxing and coming from out of town it was easy to find. Price was so reasonable for the quality of massage. Next time I'm in town Barefoot Bliss is number 1 for a visit. read more

"I write this review at the risk of someday having to wait a month to have my weekly massage, Aimee is THE BEST EVER! I have had massages in many cities in the US and a few offshore and she rates at the very top. She is a skilled masseuse, serious about her craft and takes pride in doing an excellent job every time, no exception. She removes all of the knots and stress, leaving my neck, shoulders, arms back and hands ready for a new week. Don't bother going any where else. I've been a loyal customer since Barefoot Bliss opened 9 years ago. It definitely deserves it's 5 star rating and "Best of San Clemente"! I was long overdue for a massage and decided to book an appointment at Barefoot Bliss based on its positive reviews and close proximity to my apartment. I went in for an hour and a half session and came out with a six-month membership. Aimee has an amazing flow and delivers a powerful yet relaxing massage that is restorative both mentally and physically. Aimee is fabulous! She is obviously highly trained in her specialty - Ashiatsu - because her hands and feet give an amazing massage. What a darling place - so warm and inviting - just like Aimee! I had never heard of Ashiatsu massage before, which is her specialty. She uses a hydraulic table as well as a ceiling bar structure that allows her to massage with the soft padded soles of her feet. It was an incredibly smooth, relaxing experience. I have now had several massages from Aimee at Barefoot Bliss and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I walk in the door and immediately begin to relax. The not so good thing was that they didn't put us in a couples room and said it would be an additional $10, and my husband did not get the foot scrub which was part of our combination massage package. He also felt rushed by the massage therapist to start early while still undressing. However, as previously mentioned the massage itself was very nice and also appreciated the small bottled waters at the end. Otherwise, we would consider visiting here again if we're in the area.
