I really like this place. Best chicken wings I've had in my life. Given the reopening, went to support them. They set up tables outside in the parking lot. A very nice space, they even added an outdoor carpet. Surprised how they have not taken sufficient covid 19 precautions. Menus are not disposable, reusable salt and pepper shakers on table. Every time I come out here , & it's NOT far from THEE CITY , I MUST come here, at least 2 to 3 times . This place is absolutely legendary. From the amazing drinks on the bar side when you first walk in, to the cute barrels you can walk in on the far right, the menu was awesome, have been here about a dozen times already, I have not had one bad dish or drink yet. It continues to be my go to restaurant in the Greenvale Glen Cove area. The service is always awesome as well. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but a couple of times I was there, the waiters were like, welcome back! Oh boy, I guess they know me. Regardless, an absolutely phenomenal spot. I used to love coming to barefoot, I would go very often. Almost once a week or every other week because I loved there wraps. I haven't went back for about 6months now. One day I called and ordered to go, I ordered what I always would get. Chicken Caesar wrap and found a small fly in my food after already eating half of my wrap. After seeing the fly I was grossed out and didn't finish my food but this didn't turn me away yet. I figured not every visit at an establishment can always be 100% right? So one day my boyfriend and I decided to go in for lunch because he liked it there too. We sat down and ordered, the food took extremely long to come and when it did as my boyfriend was eating he pulled a long piece of rag out of his mouth. We both almost threw up because that's just disgusting. I felt so bad for him because that's just unsanitary and we were both very hungry. There's usually 2 male servers there. It wasn't Milton who is the server I usually get it was another young man who was nice and we know it wasn't his fault but he comped my bfs meal and we just paid for mine and left. Last time was about two years ago and returned today with the same friend at his suggestion for lunch - he's a local. Bar on the left was almost full on a Tuesday afternoon in winter, so we took a quiet booth on the right. I ordered a BLT and a Diet Pepsi and was pleasantly surprised by how it came stuffed with well cooked bacon and crispy, addictive French fries. I recall that last time I was happy with their burger and beer. Other than offering a few salads, the menu was on the heavy side. Service was perfect and the waiter was masked ... there were only 255 new COVID cases in Nassau County yesterday and we're feeling braver about indoor restaurants with light at the end of this pandemic tunnel. Based upon my limited experiences here, I was a happy camper and it was pleasant. Recently I stopped in this place for lunch with a friend. There was not too many people in the place. Our table was a not full cleaned and we asked to the server to fix this.The menu was good, I had the Split Peas soup and the Southwest burger and my friend had the Rigatoni.The food was good. Second time I came for my birthday. The food was yummy and the portion size was probably why it was a little more expensive. But I enjoyed myself. I ordered for delivery and received the wrong food. When I called to resolve the manager did not offer the correct food or to facilitate a refund. He then proceeded to insult me when I pressed the issue (telling me I have my 'head up my a@@'). He did direct me to the delivery service to ask for a refund, so this was ultimately resolved by the delivery service. However, the restaurant got the order wrong, did not take direct responsibility, and I was truly shocked to be insulted. If the policy is to direct me to the delivery service, then do that in a friendly way. The way I was spoken to was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. In my (admittedly short) 22 years on this earth, I have never felt compelled to tip an embarrassingly small amount to show my distaste with my restaurant experience or waiter. Well, all good things must come to an end. 3 friends and I came in just before 5pm on a Sunday and things went well at first - seated quickly, order taken, food came out quickly. We then didn't see our waitress... for 45 minutes. In fact, there seemed to be no one staffing the restaurant besides the surly barman. No one took our empty plates, refilled our drinks, or even checked on us. When we eventually spotted our waitress, she seemed offended that we wanted dessert and very rudely said "Tell me your dessert" instead of asking for our order. Still no drinks, and plates took another 5 minutes to clear. We waited another 30 minutes for our desserts and checks, and that was even messed up too - one of us had left early and already paid, but the waitress neglected to put her drink down on her receipt, so she just put it on another check... when we were all paying separately. Classy. I will say the food was good, though definitely overpriced. If you get them on a good night, lucky you - definitely never coming back. If our meal hadn't taken 2 hours when it should've taken 1 causing me to be in a rush, I would've asked for some sort of recourse, but it clearly wasn't worth it. read more

From the moment I walked in the door, I felt a coldness. Sometimes walking into an establishment such as a Pub alone, people are like that. I chalked that up to no one knowing me and the fact that I entered solo. Though being it was Super Bowl Sunday, that was extremely odd to me. People and especially bartenders everywhere are normally overly friendly on Holiday games in general. The behavior of patrons is one thing, but when bartenders ignore a person because they're too busy counting cash, for the 25 minutes I awaited attention to order, one wonders a few things, some of which could be suspicious. Was it a private party? Definitely not! Were there super prejudiced people running the place? Were they shocked because I was alone? Were they rude because I'm over 50? Was there illegal betting going on? We're they concerned I would notice the continued money counting going on, instead of taking orders, or at least my order? Is the above the same reason, I wasn't served.? Did they want me to leave, so I wouldn't suspect any under the table activities ? Whatever the ultimate reasons for the bartenders' lack of common courtesy, manners, and service, their actions or lacking actions were downright appalling!! 1 Star is too good for the Barefoot Peddler!! I am so happy I came across this place!!! As soon as we walked in, I loved it! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays, the bar area reminded me of the great bars I visited in Ireland! We ordered wings and the slider burgers and both were out of this world ! I am not from this area of Long Island and I am a wing girl...these were deliciously different and totally hit the spot! The glass of Cab sav wine was a generous portion (which is a HUGE plus for me)! Prices were reasonable and they had the coolest huge barrels for booth seats in the dining area -SO COOL! The chicken quesadillas are almost mandatory to have although every app is delish - French onion soup is soooo good! After recently moving back to New York I thought I would try out barefoot peddler as it was a goto before moving out of state. Upon entering I was greeted by a loud bar and to my surprise no employee in sight. While waiting to be seated I overheard a table of 8 in the corner by the window looking and talking negatively about my cousin and I. Wishing someone would acknowledge us to show us to our table there conversations about us grew more prevalent as at this point their entire table was pointing and making comments about us. It was evident they were talking about us as she was basically coping every move I made including scratching an itch on my arm to see what they would say, followed by her telling her family that what I was doing is f****** disgusting. The food was decent and the service could have been better. I can confidently say I don't think I will be going back to this establishment. There was nothing wrong with the food but I have never felt so out of place and uncomfortable for doing nothing more than existing. Sucks that patrons of a place can make other guests feel that way. If by any chance anyone from that table has come across this post, do better! Don't talk about people you don't know and to top it off make it clear as day you are doing so. Everyone that passes this place should stop in.. it's cute, and has a super pubby feel with dark wood barrels for booths on the restaurant side of the bar/restaurant. The restaurant itself is adorable with booths made out of large barrels, antique bookshelf wallpaper, and clever sayings on chalkboards signs scattered throughout. The waiter, although friendly, was clearly not used to serving a group and took a very long time to take our orders. Over an hour had passed before we got our food and luckily, my entree did not disappoint. I got a turkey burger with bacon, avocado, and cheddar with a side of sweet potato fries. During the meal, we were all in desperate need of some water, but tracking down a waiter was tough (as it was very crowded). Once our plates were cleared, we waited an awkward amount of time before receiving our check, which again put a damper on the evening. In short: come here for the food, not the service. I went here one night with my cousin around 9 pm. When we walked in we basically seated ourselves because there was nobody at the door. We ordered their wings which were not great and we ordered their nachos which were horrible. It was lacking taste and there was no amount of salt or pepper that could have helped that. The drink my sister ordered was called an orange crush which was not anything special and it did not taste good. I had ordered a long island iced tea and it did not taste like a long island iced tea at all. I won't be going back to this place but it's one of those places you pick last minute of youre desperate for a last minute bite. read more

By far my favorite burger place! Burger patties weren't too thick however it was a lot of bread for me. I had a bacon cheeseburger and the taste was phenomenal. Bacon was so good. Also had the pulled pork sliders. Wish they had a little more pork in there but they had great cole slaw in them. It gave it a great taste and new spin on a pulled pork. Get the mozzarella planks! They were a little pricey for only 4 but so worth it. Finally, for dessert, we had the Cookie Monster. It was a soft, gooey chocolate chip cookie that just came out of the oven. It was brought out in a hot cast iron skillet topped with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert really completed the night. Definitely going back soon read more

I have been coming here for over 10 years and have always enjoyed the food. It can get crowded for dinner and at the bar area, so I suggest making a reservation for a large party. At my most recent visit, they did accommodate our large group the best they could without a reservation, so I give them credit for that. After dinner we found a spot at the bar (somehow! it was packed by then!) and the bartenders were great even with the large crowd to cater to. read more

Ordered the Cobb salad and to my surprise was told by the waitress that I could add chicken to the salad without any extra charge. The first thought that came to mind is that they had a surplus of chicken on hand and needed to get rid of it before it spoiled, but I could be wrong. When the salad came out it looked and tasted awesome. It had fresh avocado, bacon (can never go wrong with bacon), chicken, blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, and romaine lettuce. It was missing the typical hard boiled egg (my favorite part) normally found on a Cobb. After asking the waitress she sighed and said "they forgot your egg, of course you need your egg, it's a Cobb salad". She quickly got the missing egg and I was happy again. Despite the minor hiccup I would certainly come back and try more on the menu. read more

Food took forever to be brought to us. Our order was incorrect. I ordered chili which was completely tasteless and looked odd. Ordered a medium rare burger and received well done and dry. The curly fries and wings, however, were good. When I informed the waitress about not liking my chili, her response was "I'm not a chef. I didn't cook the food." Then when we addressed her attitude she attempted to shut us up by asking "do you want your burger wrapped?" when clearly we were still eating. The place has very poor service and inconsistent food. Going there the last 4 years. It was ok. But about 6 months ago, went in ordered salads, they were wilted and stale. Decided to give it another shot 2 weeks ago. Ordered a meal the mozzarella sticks were served cold. The wait dor the entree was 1 hour and 10 minutes. Unacceptable. The food came and the salmon was a brick ot was so dry. The sweet potato fries were burnt to a crisp. This is after a frustrating one hour wait. Got up and walked out. Paid for my drinks and left the food on the table. The worst part is no one came out to make it right. There is no supervision in that place and no one cares. Food is pretty good actually. The mussels we ate were very flavorful and I would go again just for those. I enjoyed my portobello burger. The service is just awful. The waitress -- inattentive and had attitude. We asked two times for water and she disappeared both times. We finally got it with the food. Here's the killer part: I talk with my hands. At one point knocked over my beer. I soaked up some of it with the napkin. I asked the waitress if she could clean it up. She said yes, went by and didn't come back. Then she came by again, acted like she didn't hear me the first time, and said, "I'm sorry, I'm super-busy" and handed me some paper towels to clean it up! I'm not the super-demanding type, but at those prices she couldn't be bothered to ask a bus boy? We left her a minimal tip. The place was at best half-full on a Wednesday night. Go for the bar and don't stick around for the food! Bar tender not bad not very engaging made a good martini. Now my brother and I ordered 2 orders of Buffalo wings and a chicken quesadia. The wings were horrible and half coated with Buffalo sauce (Frank's red-hot?) and fried with some sort of a bread coating! One bite and sent both orders of wings back. The chicken quesadia came out and was laying in a coating of oil on the plate. The quesadia had zero taste and and wasn't even melted all the way we ate it cause we were starving. I work in the area and when my coworkers say they are going to the Peddler for drinks and a bite to eat I avoid the bite to eat part. They can't even get the basic bar food right. read more
