I am in Charlotte and on a hint to find a thrift store that I like. I stopped by this store on a Tuesday evening. There were a few shoppers, but honestly they had more staff than customers. I am hoping that this is a family owned business and everyone is not really on the clock. None of the staff were really working. One was seated in a stool with her mask pulled below her chin and on the phone. Another guy and two females were at the front register just having regular everyday gossip conversation. I did see one staff walking around and making sure items were on hangers. The items in the store are very well organized. When you walk in you will find several rows of brand new t-shirts that are $1.00. I did not see anything that I would be willing to pay a dollar for, but if you need a shirt in a pinch and don't want to spend a ton, it's a good option. I also browsed all of the clothing section. What I noticed is that all of the good items are pulled from the main store and placed in what they call the Boutique. The boutique is basically clothing items that are new or in like new condition and priced significantly higher than the other items in the stores I would compare it to a consignment store. However, there was nothing in this section that I would pay the up charge for. One thing to note is that they do have sales. The day I was in there was a sign indicating that yellow tags were 50% off and what I thought was green was 75% off. As I was checking out I discovered that the green color is actually blue! Am I color blind?? If you are in the are and want to kill some time, I do recommend dropping in. I am a very thrifty shopper and can find the brands they put in the boutique area and charge extra for at thrift store prices. As such, it's not for me. However, that's not to say that you would not appreciate the prices. read more

they locked the door on us as we were walking up 20 minutes before closing, and proceeded to stare at us as we look at the hours. rude. also. there were still customers in the store while they locked the doors. kinda WEIRD. losers. read more

Tons of great merchandise. Pricing is all over the map, some things are reasonable and others are ridiculously priced. Also double check your items, because I saw several with holes and stains. Would come again, but be wary. read more

The store is clean enough. It doesn't smell. It kinda reminds you of a Value Village. I found a lot of overpriced items. There were some deals hidden in the back of the store that I was able to find after digging through merchandise but the nicely displayed items are not a bargain. I asked the cashier if everything was priced as marked or if there were some deals that I needed to know. Her reply wasn't friendly, she just said everything is priced as marked. read more

Carolina at the front counter was very sweet and efficient, same with the other girl that was working with her on Friday 6/14. The store was big and had a wide clothing variety. I wish it were better organized by size but I know it must be hard to maintain that in a thrift store. I got about 13 clothing pieces plus one purse for about $64, which was a great deal. read more

I've stopped by here a few times. Me and my family won't be back. There are often homeless crackheads who linger around the building, so much so that I worry for the nice cashier who offered to walk me to my car since it was dark. The store will either smell of bodily odors or some chemical which gives me headaches. I've seen roaches crawling on the furniture and the checkout counter. The interior is very grimy looking, dirty floors. The furniture is all outdated, overpriced, damaged, dirty. There are no bathrooms, no fittings rooms, no returns, no exchanges. No reason for me to return. The only redeeming factor are the cashiers, who are always very friendly and make wonderful conversation. read more

As an avid thrift store shopper, I went with an open mind as I have been to some pretty sketchy thrift stores before that have had good items. This place was just bad. It smells terrible, which I wouldn't let bother me if the stuff was actually decent. But the items are all outdated, old, and not in good condition. read more

Bargain Hunters makes me happy, first of all most racks of clothing are by size. Oh my stars in heaven, this makes thrifting so much easier. Everything that I liked was $1 or $2, this is what a thrift store should be, I get sick of $3.50 for a t-shirt, and I am not joking. Sometimes thrift stores just make me flat out mad with their expensive crap. Bargain Hunters made me feel like a gatherer today. read more

Bargain Hunters is so much fun to shop at. You never know what you're going to find. Earlier this week, I found some rinsed out yogurt containers, a Christmas mug with a textured orange substance on it, and a shirt with REAL human blood on it! Neat! Depending where you stand in the store, it smells like body odor, nail polish remover, or a combination of both. Wow! What an experience. Can't wait to return in the future to take my chances on catching a communicable disease by touching the merchandise. read more

I went in this store today without a mask because it is my given right to decide whether I want to wear one or not. I have went to target, Walmart and various other stores without a mask and even with a sign on the door, they have never said anything to me. However, in this store, one man (maybe the manager or cashier) was very rude, hovering over me because I didn't have a mask. Mind you, I was social distancing. There were maybe 4 people in the whole entire store. The next person was over 30 feet away from me, yet, he was worried about my mask. Meanwhile, regardless of masks, customers were touching the USED clothes without washing their hands. Talk about DOUBLE-STANDARD rules! I walked out of the store and drove off to goodwill without wearing a mask and NOT ONE person in Goodwill harassed me for not wearing a mask. Never going there again! read more

This place was a typical thrift store nothing amazing but I did notice that their furniture is soooo overpriced . I saw a twin mattress for $150 . You can get a brand new twin mattress for $100 at Walmart . They have $1 T-shirt's some with graphics and they are new. The cashier was very unprofessional, cursing and such when I was standing there waiting to be rung up . She didn't even say hello. I know it's a thrift store and all but sheesh , awkward. read more

8/19/2021 - Closing manager only advised customer and customer's mother of store closing and did not advise other patrons in store (1 male and 1 female). Customer and customer's mother proceeded to register; customer arrived at counter first... Closing manager "Fearah" and cashier conducted unprofessional conversation in front of customer about customer and customer's mother. There was no greeting, eye contact or acknowledgement of any kind. When customer asked if that was standard policy to disregard customer, manager stated that "they" do not have to speak to customers if they do not want to. Manager also stated that customer cannot force her to talk either. Customer asked manager to repeat herself on a recorded line and manager reiterated that she does not have to engage with customers. Customer informed manager and cashier of overt disrespect and proceeded to video record actions of both manager and cashier. ***Manager proceeded to allegedly call 911 on personal cell phone to report customer to authorities. Customer spoke loud enough for dispatcher to note customer's name, address, and contact information for direct follow-up. Manager locked door behind customer after cashier completed transaction while another customer remained in building. Customer asked for names of cashier (cashier declined), manager repeated name in an inaudible tone multiple times; however, customer could not decipher what manager stated. Customer seeks to file formal grievance against manager and cashier for distress and unlawfully contacting 911 for non-emergency services. After 8/19/2021 customer will not return to patronize or donate items until the actions of both employees has been addressed and corrective action taken. Customer will encourage friends, family and professional networking circle to stand in solidarity with customer until actions of manager have been addressed and formally corrected. read more

This place isn't the most physically attractive but I was able to find some pretty good deals. All the clothes are half off. And there's even a plus size section, although I found better stuff outside of that section. They don't really put the clothes in order of sizes so you really have to search but if you have some patience it's worth it! read more

A pleasure to shop here. The staff is friendly, helpful and multilingual. They have a boutique section where I have found Chico's brand items among other recognisable lables. I also found a chic leather Brooks Brothers Purse and a pair of Walking Cradles which are dreamily comfortable shoes on par with Clarks. The majority of clothes are sorted and sized and there is a small section for housewares and furniture. Well worth the visit if you are attempting to be a good steward of your resources. read more

This thrift store is okay -- nothing special. It's sad, really, because it could be a very good thrift store, but they just don't have enough good merchandise. The prices are good and the store is very well-organized. They staple the pricetags on the clothing (Ugh!) but they do make the effort to put the tags on the clothing labels so as not to cause holes. (Ahem! Salvation Army and Value Village, take note!) If you're looking for clothing (particularly ladies'), you might as well save your efforts and just head straight for the 'Boutique' section. Many of the items in the regular ladies' clothing area are dated, and I have come across more than a few items that had holes in them. As far as the 'Boutique', you may find some interesting, name/mall brand items, but on the whole there are mostly just nothing special items from common big box stores and discount department stores.. (Why would I pay $6 for a top from Old Navy or Target when I could get the same at another thrift for $3?! I don't care if it is in very good condition, it's still overpriced!) Truly, this area is only a 'Boutique' because someone decided to put the least damaged/most current clothing here and charge more for it. The same goes for children's wear -- mostly worn out and dated clothes with a few good items reserved for the children's 'Boutique'. The shoe section isn't anything special. I found many shoes that would have been better off being thrown away rather than being put out for sale. The books are well organized, but if you're looking for anything current, you're probably not going to find it. Most of the books seem to be from before 1995 or so. The bric-a-brac area is full of odds and ends -- mostly junky little items and glassware. They do have some decent items on shelves near the 'Boutique', but not much. They have fitting rooms, but if you need a restroom, you'll have to go to the nearby Burger King. I might stop by here if I were out thrifting at the other thrift stores on Albemarle Road, but I definitely wouldn't make a special trip! read more

Bargain Hunters is just that....a thrift shop that requires some sifting. Located behind the Burger King in a derelict shopping center on Albemarle Rd., this secondhand store has alot of items that have seen better days mixed with a few treasures. The clothing looked decent,-a large rack of men's sports coats, but otherwise unimpressive. The furniture is surprisingly nice-large selection of couches and desks-not all of them scratched and stained. Would have bought a TV hutch had I not planned to move in a year or so. The book selection has some good finds. My only complaint is that they mark the spines with a Sharpie-librarians shudder at this. You can pay with credit/debit cards-a $5 minimum is required. At $1.50 a pop, I guess black lines don't matter. If you have a lazy afternoon or looking for a bargain piece of furniture, give Bargain Hunters a try. read more

I can honestly say, every time I enter this Bargain Hunters I end up buying something. The prices are are rising a tad bit for a thrift store compared to when they first opened. MY advice to others if you do not have the time nor the patience to maneuver threw the racks this is not place for you if so you will be very surprised to what you may find. read more
