I wanted to leave a quick review to recognize the team here. Stacey and Jorge in the leasing office have always been very helpful and responsive whenever we've needed anything. Jorge has gone above and beyond to make sure things were taken care of and that we were kept informed throughout the process, which I really appreciated. The maintenance team has also been great. Manny recently helped us out and did an excellent job -- he kept me updated while he was working and made sure everything was taken care of before he left. I've also really enjoyed living here because the community puts on events for residents and families. It's a nice touch and makes it easier for neighbors to connect and build a sense of community. Overall, the staff is professional, communicative, and truly cares about the residents. I appreciate everything they do!!! read more

This review is for Jake, who spoke to me about leasing. I called this place to ask if they had low-income housing. Unfortunately they don't, but the man whom I spoke with, Jake, was super nice and still tried to see if he could find something in my budget. He told me they have 1 bed 1 bath apartments for $2,400. That's out of my price range so when I told him, he wished me luck and said that if anything changed, I could give him a call and he would do his best to help me find the most affordable housing option. I have met really rude housing rep people at other housing complexes, so it's really a relief to meet people who work these jobs that have hearts and are compassionate. Average person living there who leaves for work should have a bill around $150 or less like I did for three and a half years I lived there with SDG&E my average bill on paper is $150 my average bill with solar $350 there's no disputing it they can't lie it's called a consumption charge they're charging you for building the solar here's another one for you they do not clean their solar panels you lose efficiency so guess who pays for it you go ahead and ask around people are paying out the nose he also do other illegal things like they add the electric bill with your rent you have no obligation but to pay it if you don't you get an illegal 3-day notice you get no time to pay it no payment plans nothing it fluctuates so bad and you don't change anything you do it's the worst place to live you'll be paying out the nose to live there someone needs to file a lawsuit against them I already know because I got a month's free rent and they wouldn't take me to court when I told them to take me to court anybody out there who has an attorney in the family they need to come after this company. This 5star rating is specifically for the maintenance guys only. I see them work day in and day out to take care of and upkeep this place. I have seen major improvements in the amount of dog feces left around. I know its not their primary job, but they suck it up and keep the place looking nice. I trust these guys and the work they do. I don't feel like I have t be guarded if they come into my house. Big shout out to Steve and Carlos on the maintenance staff for being personable, approachable and helpful! The manager is new, so I don't know what to think of them yet and have personally never met them yet, and corporate has done a lot to improve this place, just wish the timeline on the construction wouldn't take so long. I understand the rain was an issue, but this is pretty long winded; we are already heading into the next rainy season. Super stoked we have the guest parking back, thats a big plus... We already don't have much parking, but the new construction even took away our only visitor parking for a time being. I've lived in my apartment just over a year now and the place is great. Saer always helps me out if something isn't working or needs to be fixed. He is extremely reliable and knows just how to get the job done. I have had a couple things need fixing just from wear and tear and he has always been quick and professional. read more

We've had issues since before we even moved in. 2 days before we were supposed to move in, I had to call to ask if we were getting sent anything about it and they said they were "planning" on calling to say we had to wait 2 more weeks. Our cabinets didn't all have handles. The fridge didn't have drawers (both of which we were told would be put in). Weeks later we asked and maintenance had no idea. Our closet doors would shut and they said there was no way of fixing it so they just took them off. They fixed a water leak in our garage but didn't patch the hole for almost a month because i had to remind management and she claimed she had no idea there was even a leak. There is terrible communication between management and maintenance so we are constantly getting different information. The laundry room didn't have an out of order sign and flooded when i tried to do mine, and when i told maintenance they said they were "planning on fixing it". We had dirty water coming out of our shower, bleaching our towels, and we were told that we were lying and there was no way that was possible (never once did they check it, we had to get filtered shower heads). Our cars have been towed multiple times because you cant read the spot numbers. They beg for reviews every time we go in but do nothing to prove they deserve it. As a group of college girls we feel taken advantage of. Definitely would not recommend. read more

I'm sad to say I'm moving out and I hope the next maintenance crew I have is as high quality as the guys at Barham. The only good thing about this apartment is the location.... now the bad - There are roaches and no matter how many times you spray they keep coming back. There is no parking - people take spots that do not belong even though there are signs that say it is assigned parking only.... People also don't know how to park in the lines, even the staff. No one seems to pick up after their dog and they let them crap on the side walks so you are guaranteed to step in it. The manager will send out an email threatening to fine people but they are never around to see who is doing it so therefore, nothing gets done about it. There is at least one washer or dryer broken at any given time. A new management company came in so they are "remodeling" the complex, even they just put in a useless club house that no one uses yet it has nicer counter tops and appliances than the apartments have.. so that will get remolded again + some other useless areas of the complex rather than upgrading things for the tenants who have been there forever... They are painting and advised that the few guest parking spots available will no longer be available because all of the workers need some where to park. They are blocking off walkways and garages so if you don't leave early enough in the morning you are pretty much stuck. they are also taping up all windows and doors so you are extra stuck in the stuffy apartment with no air flow...The workers sit and have meetings in the middle of the parking lot they also drop all of their supplies there so there is no way to go around. Cars get vandalized every week it seems. They have no cameras nor do they do anything to try and stop it from happening... oh wait they said they have a courtesy patrol drive around! Well I am yet to see one, and i am the one that has to watch out my window to see if anyone is doing something to my car... My ice maker started leaking and instead of fixing it they said they have to remove the ice maker completely because it will just keep leaking.... BUT they offered ice trays to compensate!! how thoughtful... cause you know heaven forbid they supply their tenants with working appliances.... People throw parties during the week so if you work during the week then you are screwed because you will up all night listening to them. Don't waste your money or your sanity on this place! read more

Barham Villas Apartments is a very great place to live! The apartments are clean and affordable. The rooms are super spacious and are all up to date. Laundry rooms are also easy to use and never had a problem with. Parking spaces were great as well. Management and maintenance were very professional and they responded fast with any questions you may have. Also, Business Manger Stacey Thammavongsa is great! She was extremely kind and helpful with any questions you may have. These apartments are 5/5 and I recommend it! read more

I've lived here at Barham for the past two years and have experienced both new and old managers and now currently renovations. It feels like a lot of change but I'm thrilled with the changes and issues that are being addressed under current management. Any request I've made, no matter how small, the manager and staff have been very responsive. Renovations being made to better this establishment certainly are inconvenient for everyone, but the workers are kind and courteous doing their best to work around the tenants here. I've loved living in this community, my kind neighbors, and how dog friendly it is here! The only reason why I would give this complex 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of visitor parking, but my roommates and I have our own spot each and we were well aware of the parking before signing a lease here to begin with. I'm grateful for the current manager and all the progress being made, I hope to live here for a long time! read more

I've already reviewed but ima going to add another one, this time talking about the frustration of management, they cant seem to keep a steady manager here I've seen more than 4 new people in that office and its frustrating having to always find out who I need to talk to when I need help with my apartment. Another major frustration I cannot I wrap my head alums is the amount of times they have shit our water off due to emergency fixes I would like to say it was about 6x in less than 2 months! Talk about an inconvenience especially when. We pay our rent on time and expect working amenities as promised. Get it done right the first time, we shouldnt have to suffer for others mistakes. I cannot wait for my lease to be over here. Another major problem is people with dogs are very irresponsible owners here and domt pick up after their pets. Theres literally dog poop everywhere even on sidewalks so u cant even walk comfortably you have to watch ever step. Theres poop next to the kids playground in the grass and it's sad when ur child is trying to have fun and accidentally steps on poop. Due to some being an irresponsible pet owner. It's been a tuff 9 months here. read more
