Wish I could give ZERO stars. Before I left my dog at Bark and Bath we had an in depth discussion about his hair and the front desk guy/owner? I'm not sure. Said he was so surprised for not having had a groom in a long time his coat was actually in great condition he was surprised and made that apparent. His ears were another story. He did have mats but I've had other groomers, GOOD groomers blend the ears really nicely after having the mats removed. The only area of issue was the ears at this point. I said I want a cute teddy bear puppy cut on his face and just blend the ears. I go to pick him up, I can not see my dog yet and the guy charges me 95.00!!! Saying that my dog was really in bad condition and really matted. Really because before I left you were saying how surprised you were that his coat was almost mat free? Ok whatever I am beyond pissed, I do not want confrontation I had my children with me. Lucky for him... It would be one thing if my dog looked somewhat decent but my poor baby got a complete hack job don't to him by someone who DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. His whiskers and eyelashes are GONE. His nails are horrendous. I have never ever paid $95 for a groom and my dog has had mats all over before. These are scammers. It once was maybe a nice place but no longer.... read more

Look no further. What a great job they did grooming our little fur ball. We live in an RV and travel the country. This is by the best grooming we have had in the past 5 years. I drove 45 minutes and will not hesitate doing again when the time comes. Very easy to make an appointment and the groomer did an amazing job. Highly recommend!!! read more

Totally agree with the other negative reviews. I too would give 0 reviews if I could. I have 2 dogs (one of which has Addison's Disease) and I expressly scheduled the first appointment of the day in order to get my dogs in and out. Hours later, the dogs still weren't ready. When I finally went to pick them up, they were crated in the back and miserable. It was chaos back there. My dogs were traumatized and the grooming was the worst I've ever seen. It was clear that one of my dog's faces hadn't even been touched...it was still dirty. Whatever you do, do not take your dogs to this place!!! read more

Have only been here once and everything went well. My dog looked good, she was happy afterwards, and the woman at the front was friendly and professional. And, contrary to the reviewer who had an issue a week after her grooming, it has been close to 4 weeks and my dog still looks great! I know the place changed owners in 2020 I am guessing that the woman with the issue experienced a changing of the guard (i.e bad timing) - things are always bumpy when you start a new business. read more

Visiting in the Sarasota area & had not gotten replies from several groomers, so gave them a try. Able to get an appointment the next day & when picked up our dog (bischon-poodle) she seemed fine with no concerns from groomer. Later I noticed her struggling to p/poop - found that she had been clipped 2 close around anal area. Went back to shop & they confirmed this - they said used poor choice of groom blades in that area. Wish they were better at grooming. At the least I feel they should have said something when we picked her up & paid the $70 fee. read more

Do. Not. Take. Your. Dog. Here. If I could give ZERO STARS I would. My *small* dog had an appointment at 9:30 am. I dropped him off at 9:15am and was told he would be ready by 1pm. I thought to myself "Wow, 3 1/2 hours! Why so long?!" Since my *cockapoo* had his thick winter coat, I thought maybe it would take more time than usual, so I didn't question it. 1pm rolls around and I call just to make sure he's ready before I head there. They THEN tell me 2:30pm. I'm wondering what the heck is taking so long?!?!?!?!?!?! 2:30pm- I head to the groomers and I get a text from Mark "the groomer" that my dog is NOT ready. He said that my dog is afraid of the hair dryers so they are letting him air dry. How has he been there 5 HOURS and he's JUST NOW BEING DRIED?! I told them to just cut his hair and nails and I will pick him up wet. It's been 5 1/2 hours and he's an old dog who's been there without food or water or going to the bathroom. I'm not keeping him there ANY longer. When I got there to pick him up, I could hear him crying before even walking in the door. I went straight to the back to get him out of there. He looked absolutely petrified. He also looks absolutely hideous. They gave him a H A C K J O B. I've never seen a groom so bad in my life. He had long hair places, short hair other places. It was soooooooo bad. I was then charged for the FULL GROOM even when I was picking him up WET AND 6 HOURS AFTER I DROPPED HIM OFF. I insisted on knowing why it took so long and the guy at the front desk admitted to me that another dog came in and that he allowed them to cut the line. So my 12 year old dog ("who was afraid of the hair dryer") was just waiting there until god knows when they actually started working on him. I would have much rather they had called me and said "Hi, we know you had an appointment and already dropped off your dog, but he's going to sit here for about 4 hours until we actually start to work on him bc we decided to let this other dog skip the line and have a walk in appointment." I would have gone immediately and picked him up and gone somewhere else. Not had him stay there where he was scared with NO FOOD NO WATER NO BATHROOM where the sounds were scaring him for 6 HOURS. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never in my life go back to this place ever again. Please please please do not take your animals here. read more

They responded SO quickly and were super nice! i brought in a cat who i had just got from a previous owner who let him get super matted and they got all of the mats out without even fully shaving him like i thought we would have to do. he came home so soft and fluffy and HAPPY! I've been taking my Pomeranian To Bark & Bath for ten years. Initially, they had a wonderful groomer name Marc, who did impeccable job. My dog was never in a cage, and he always came back, clean happy and his room was perfect. In the last two years. Marc is not there anymore and the grooming has been less than perfect. Last week I took my dog there he was, not groomed for six months and there were lots of knots in his hair, but nothing a good groomer couldn't fix. I picked him up and took him home but when I got home, I realized that the groomer completely missed for giant knots underneath his arms behind his ears, and the back of his main, which is supposed to be cut in a perfect week was botched. I did call to complain, asking the owner to make it right and he asked me what do you mean make it right?! I told him that as a small business owner if I had a complaint that was valid, I would give a complementary service to make it up to the person I would much rather go that route, then have to take the risk of a bad review. I mentioned all of this to the owner he never called me back, but he said he would and I will never take my dog back there again. read more

O star Horrible I had to calm down before writing this and I normally don't take the time to do this but for my love of animals I hope this will save other little furry friends. Waited about a week for a appointment and went in today for a 10:30 appt Was greeted by a very nice young man who was very friendly and knowledgeable of animals. Groomer was on his way in, I was 15 mins early. Then the dog was put in a small stacked crate in back room waiting on groomer. Dog was scared and shaking, I did follow them when he went back I told him she's never been in crate before. I decided to wait to meet the groomer before I left her ( THANK GOD I DID ) Went back up front with nice gentleman and had a nice time TILL Groomer shows up. I heard our dog barking and by the way no other dogs there. They called today to see if I wanted to come in early due to a no show They were so lucky Ok back to the story. I went back behind door to see groomer upset and raising his voice to the dog and me. He starting whining about this 13 year old 13lb poodle mix that he said tried to bite him. Don't ever go here. I brought my Cavapoo to get a little bit of length cut off and they shaved him! I asked them to please cut the long hair on his tail down, they didn't. The cute curls he had on his head are gone, he's unrecognizable. I will be going back to DogPerfect because they took their time and listened to what I wanted. I'm never going back here. What a delightful shop! I went here because I saw online how they carried my dog's favorite treats (Chicken Chips) and I believe they are the only place that carries them in this area. Anyway, we were greeted by a very friendly, helpful gentlemen who was so personable, which seems a rarety to find lately. Anyway, it's a cute, clean shop and we well be back. BTW, I have been to 2 other pet boutiques both in touristy-areas of Sarasota neither of which were good experiences (unattentive workers and didn't carry the products I like anyway).
