I noticed a couple of staff members in the back area and they did see me and the other people waiting. I'm not sure why they didn't come up immediately. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came to the front counter. After the other person was helped and left, the staff member asked me how she could assist me with a smile. I informed her that I was there for grooming and she directed me to the back area of the store. When I entered the grooming area, the lady greeted me with a smile. She recognized me because I was there at my appointment time. She asked me to sign the disclaimer/policy document, which I did. Then, she came over to take my dog and said I would receive a text 20 minutes before my dog was ready so I could return. She went into the back and started working on my dog. Roughly 1.5 hours later, I received the text and headed over to pick up my dog. When I arrived, the same lady was there and promptly went into the back to get my dog. She asked if I wanted an electronic receipt, and I said yes. I paid and left. Pros: 1. The staff was friendly and welcoming. 2. The lady in the grooming area was friendly and knowledgeable, which made me feel comfortable leaving my dog with her. 3. The price was reasonable for the service provided. Cons: 1. It would be better if someone was always at the front desk to greet people coming in and prevent dishonest people from stealing items. 2. I received a text with a link to the receipt, but it's just a web receipt, so I don't have a way to save it. I would prefer an email version so I can save it to my email folders.

The best part about Well Groomed (outside of our superstar groomer) is their policies. Pet parents know all of the emotions and anxiety that can come with these services- Well Groomed (and Emmy) prioritizes the comfort of their animal clients above all else. Our two boys have issues with their nail trims, and I truly appreciate the fact that WGP does not force them past their comfort level. If the boys are uncomfortable, the service isn't completed. That is such a relief to know our pets aren't being pushed past their limits. Big plus: The photo update texts during the appointment. Such a great service! DO NOT take your pet to this vet. She caused deafness to my dog who was already blind by using an…read moreunnecessary ear treatment! I had my regular vet back in Chicago verify that the treatment she used is not safe for all dogs and can cause deafness in some. My dog had exceptional hearing the day I walked in, and despite his blindness was able to live a pretty normal life. Following the sound of my voice he was able to run and play with no problem. After Dr. Kate treated him (all I went in for was an allergy shot for him but she "upsold" me saying he could use ear cleaning!!). I walked out of there with a deaf dog and his hearing never came back. It changed both our worlds for the worse!! He has never been the same. If I could give NEGATIVE amount of stars I would! To top it off when I tried to speak to her about it AND sent a letter, I was completely ignored. I did get a "welcome to our practice" card in the mail a couple weeks later which only infuriated me. Do yourself a favor ...find ANY other Veterinarian in the area. Not Kate. Her license should be taken away. If I had the time and finances I'd have gone after her legally.
