By far, the WORST place in Atlanta to take your dog. If there is a way to give this place ZERO STARS, then I would. I took my dog for daycare in the morning and tried to check on him with the webcams periodically. What's on the webcams? NOTHING! No activity, no people, no dogs anywhere!! For FIVE HOURS!! Then I called the office to see if the webcams were down or malfunctioning. More importantly, I wanted to check if my dog was okay and actively playing. I take my dog to daycare to socialize with other dogs and burn some energy. Two hours later, still NO ONE BOTHERED to call me back. At this point, I was in a complete panic thinking that these people stuck my dog in a crate and took off for the rest of the day. Worse, I thought someone kidnapped my dog! I called the Westside location trying to find some answers. STILL no one at either Brookhaven or Westside called me back for 90 minutes! When I called Brookhaven yet again, the anal retentive owner (name rhymes with Barshall) tells me some bullshit story that the webcams are working fine and my dog must have been hiding. Um...yeah, my dog was hiding outside for 7 freaking hours?? Please! Then he handed the phone to the clueless shift manager (you will recognize her with the tongue and nose rings). She has the balls to tell me "well, we don't answer the phones between 12:30 and 2:30" and yeah, I don't know anything about the webcams. WTF!! Who the hell are these people?!? At this point, I dropped everything I was doing to get my dog. I roll in to talk with owner who refused to apologize for any inconvenience. I asked him about this ridiculous "we don't answer the phones between 12:30-2:30 policy". He rudely responded that I could not have been more wrong and they are just that busy answering calls. Yet, I never heard the phone ring at any point during the drop-off and pick-up. And the place was EMPTY. I asked "how can I trust you with my dog since you clearly don't care about the pet parents who pay for the services?? I'm not paying for having your business ruin my day due to negligence" His response, "all first visits are complementary". What a dick! The capper: when I took my dog home, he had poop crusted to his tail. That only happens when...you guess it, the dog is stuck in a crate all day and sits in shit. Barf & Hoard cannot even keep the pets clean or wipe them off before returning them to their pet parents. Please do not reward this grossly incompetent, careless and apathetic place with your business. This is the only way shoddy business practices will change or get shut down entirely. UPDATE BASED ON OWNER'S RESPONSE: PS- As you can see by the owner's response, he fails to claim any responsibility whatsoever and cites my dog out by name - an invasion of privacy. This owner could have called me to discuss this but instead defends the actions of his horrible organization on Yelp. And he whines about being a respectable businessman. Grow a pair, dude. My dog had been to your horrid facility twice - once for the free visit, the other due to a personal emergency today. Sadly, your facility was closest to my home. Lesson for us all - quality always beats convenience. By the way, most people would be angry & in your words "rude & hostile" if they were unsure if their pet was safe. Any one of your staff could have addressed my concerns rather than blow me off for several hours. Any one of your staff could have checked to see if the webcam feed was working properly on a PC or mobile device. You provided no photos or video footage when I questioned you about the web cam . You could have reassured me with proof that my dog was okay. If you think that people will take you at your word and if anyone questions you "then screw them attitude" is going to fly with people then you should not be in business. Don't get me started about my dog covered in shit when I picked him up. I'm surprised you are not blaming my dog for that. You can take this feedback as learning lessons for improving this location that opened maybe a month ago. Instead, you blame the CUSTOMER and you call me a liar publicly? Go fuck yourself. My dog HATES strangers and crowded areas (she was a breeding dog, rescued from a puppy mill). Normally she stays with family and friends when I'm busy, but I got married last week and everyone we trust to watch her would be at the wedding. I also just bought a house and was in the process of moving, so I didn't want my dog left alone in the strange new house that we hadn't dog-proofed yet. My Crazy Dog Lady personality intersected with wedding nervousness and mid-move disorganization, which I'm sure rubbed off on the dog. She was probably an anxiety-riddled mess, grumpy and angry, and they did a great job. They let us bring her own crate, which she sleeps in every night, and happily answered my calls asking how she was doing. They let her in playgroups, but also moved her back to her sleeping area so she could rest. She came back worn out but reasonably happy and obviously well cared-for. read more

This was my first time boarding my two 8 lbs puppies...maltipoos...staff was friendly, however I wasn't prepared that 60 lbs dogs were considered puppies...if a baby elephant was admitted they would put it in the same area...cold concrete floors, dogs are subject to 4 hours outside whether they are cold or not...play pen is full of small pebbles and very little attention was paid to the dogs...we watched the Webcam consistently...the staff just does what they have to and it shows.. read more

I have been taking Snoopy, my beagle fur baby, to Bark And Board for about one year. Snoopy goes to daycare three to four days a week and he also boards with them when I am out of town. We have had a very positive relationship with Bark and Board and I would highly recommend this facility for both daycare and boarding your pets. The staff is attentive and friendly. They have always gone above and beyond to accommodate Snoopy's needs and my schedule. The facility is kept clean. The dogs have both play and rest periods throughout the day. The Lobby of Bark and Board is also a pet shop where premium food, treats and pets supplies are sold. I am happy to be a member of the Bark and Board family and I would invite you to check them out as well. read more

We have been taking our beloved dog, Caramel, to this location for years. Not only does Caramel LOVE to come play, but we feel 100% confident and happy she is in a place that truly loves her! We will ask her as we are driving to take her to boarding or day care, if she wants to go play, and she will become very alert and start wagging her tail, and trying to get out of the car because she loves being here SO much! We find all of the staff very genuine in their love of animals and in caring for them. This is the BEST place! read more

I was a customer at the Midtown location for years & they were great. I am very disappointed with the Brookhaven location. I dropped off my dog to get groomed and noted it was important his nails get clipped (whole reason I came). I was going to pick him up in an hour. She asked if it was okay if he played for ten minutes beforehand with no mention of extra charge. I said sure. An hour later I came to pick him up and they tried to charge me an extra FORTY dollars for a half day of day care. FORTY for 10 minutes of play. What a joke. Then they said they couldn't clip his nails because he was trying to bite the groomer. My dog has never showed aggression and the other location never had an issue. So I asked if they would let me walk back to hold him while she clipped his nails real quick. The answer was no. Sketchy right?! So clearly something was broken or they weren't telling the truth. The man behind me even reached for his paws to prove a point and my dog did nothing. Through all of this, they still charged me full price for just a bath. They said they would call me with a refund and the call never came. What a joke of a business. Steer clear of here. My vet does a much better job of grooming and charges $10. read more

I have been taking my dog to this location for 1 month now. I previously took her to another facility, but given Bark and Board was closer and had more competitive prices, I decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did. My dog has a condition called megaesophagus. She is unable to eat and drink in a normal manner. She has been turned away by multiple daycares given the extra time and energy needed to take care of her properly. Bark and Board did not hesitate to welcome her into their family. They took the time to learn what her needs are and how they can ensure she eats/drinks in such a way she will not aspirate. I know she is getting the care and attention she needs which is incredible and so reassuring. Also, my dog has already fallen in love with this place. I know she is well taken care both when she attends daycare and is boarded. She gets so excited once she knows she is headed to doggy daycare and becomes even more enthusiastic when she sees the employees. It's comforting to see such a positive response from my pup - it tells me I'm leaving her in very capable hands. I also love being able to see her on the webcam. I check in on her intermittently throughout the day just because it's fun to watch her having such a great time - makes me smile every time. I have had positive encounters with each employee I've spoken to and the owner is always personable and professional. I was even taken by surprise one day when I phoned the business - I had to hang up before I could speak to someone and just a few minutes later, the business called me since they saw I contacted them. I cannot say enough positive things about Bark and Board. They made such a great first impression and continue to exceed my expectations. read more

Stuart and his team volunteer their services and facility to provide free grooming and other services to the foster dogs of Releash Atlanta, many of whom come into the rescue not looking too hot. They groomed my pomeranian foster this past week and did a great job. Facility also seemed very nice. read more

It is sad to see everyone coming here (who probably has never even had a dog stay in this place) to trash their review page due to one bad employee. This SINGLE employee does not reflect the business itself. As mentioned, the employee has been fired and does not reflect the business as a whole. It is unfortunate and disgusting to see someone treat an animal like that, and in no way would someone hire someone they knew would at like that to watch the animals in their care, but every company experiences bad employees, unfortunately. The web cams don't work, so I wasn't able to check on my dog. They say a nail trim comes with the bath, but they didn't do it. Only one person working at the end of the day with a line of people trying to pick up there dogs - he was incorrectly charging everyone. They have different pricing for half and full days and apparently don't keep record of when your dog was dropped off. read more

I'm not one to usually leave negative reviews. But I feel like I must give people a heads up. We have been frequenting bark and board since the opened. Twice our dog came home with a stomach bug after boarding. The last time I called for 2 days leaving vm with no return response. I formally got in touch with someone who after reviewing files said "oh yeah- she was sick." We are sorry we forgot to mention it to you. The owner called and apologized. I was annoyed but not mad. Then the abuse scandal happened. If you are not familiar with it- please google it! And I decided I would give them one more try. I sent her back where she came home with a horrible eye infection. She could not open. I asked what happened - as nobody offered up a word- and they said to put a warm compress on it and sent me on my way. As I was loading my sweet girl in the car I could hear a female employee literally screaming at the top of her lungs at the dogs that were outside. Over and over. I even made my husband get out of the car. 500.00 later -the BACTERIAL eye infection is clear. I don't know how filthy the conditions are but 3 times my healthy pup has come home sick with no notice or explanation. This place is terrible. Do not leave your dog here!!! read more

I had to take a minute to brag on B&B! My dog has been going there on and off since the opening for both daycare and boarding. We have really enjoyed it. The staff is accommodating and the convenience of daycare with no reservations is great! Today I was especially pleased! My dog has an endless amount of energy and as I checked in on the camera today, I saw the staff taking my dog up and down the equipment in the back (almost like agility) to wear out his energy and giving him endless belly rubs. Thank goodness for Bark and Board Brookhaven! I usually don't take the time to write reviews but my family and I have been so pleased with the staff and the accommodations offered at this resort and daycare. We can barely contain our pups when we pull on to Apple Valley Drive. They know exactly where they are heading and can't wait to get out of the car. Our dogs are always greeted with the happiest faces inside! The daycare has been so convenient and a great place to let our dogs play when we aren't home for long periods of time during the day. The cat condo is full service as well located next to the reception area. I can see our kitties as soon as I walk in the front door. Lastly, when we lost our dog in the recent past, Bark and Board's owner knew exactly who my dog was and reached out to us personally. Thank you Bark and Board. If I could give this place zero (0) stars I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I took my sweet baby here for grooming and when I picked her up, she was literally unrecognizable. They had basically shaved her bald. I gave explicit instructions when we came in that I wanted to keep her coat longer due to the cold weather. When I picked her up, they in turn lied and said she was matted so they have to shave her hair! This is a very well-kept and cared for dog, and this could have been no further from the truth! Someone just didn't know what they were doing! I was completely in shock. When we got her home, she even had cuts on her. I demanded a refund to which they agreed however the incompetent management claimed they could not refund over the phone so when I returned the next day, she still was unaware of how to do a simple refund. I had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges. In all honesty this place should be closed down for animal cruelty and stupidity! read more

The owner of this business is overly sensitive and spiteful, which goes without saying are not good characteristics for a good business owner. I never made a public complaint about this business, but did state over the phone in a message to them my preference for one particular employee being there on staff when my dog was there in daycare and I would choose to drop her off on one of those days. Everyone has a preference for specific individuals at the businesses they use frequently. When I was spending over $200 a month for several months at this B & B for daycare the same dog things were fine. I even spoke this business up in a dog survey while visiting Piedmont Park the year prior. I am not anti this business, but the owner has 'hurt feeling' issues. I stopped sending my dog there due to my finances then returned for a 2 night boarding visit and picked her up, nothing was said to me about my dog though they did try to charge me more than I was quoted twice prior. Then almost two months later as mentioned above I called and stated my desire have my dog in daycare when a particular staff member was there- I received no response. About three weeks later I brought my dog in for daycare and almost 45 mins later I received phone call stating my dog had been banned since the overnight visit and that I had been told of that. That was absolutely untrue. I had not been told anything. I had picked my dog up and paid what I was quoted and left as normal. The only thing that had occurred in that time period was phone message to them that he the owner did not like. read more
